BULLET – DIE SUICIDES – MALICE IN EDEN – PHONEY SEA/KOSTAS KYRIAKIDIS – SIVA SIX
SIVA SIX
an interview by Maria Stella Tsatsi

Siva Six are:
George-Z – vocals
U-Ri – keyboard

Siva Six-George Z:
“There is a descent scene in Greece we always had a good feedback and felt loved by the local scene.”
They are eccentric, unique in their kind and that’s what makes them so special.
They have performed in 18 countries, 60 bands have remixed their unique gems and have shared the stage with bands like Front 242, Gothminister, Type O Negative, Clan of Xymox, Cubanate, Soman, Grendel, DieKrupps, Theatre Of Tragedy, Apoptygma Berzerk, Hocico, S. i. t. d, Rotersand, Pansonik, Arcturus. I suppose it΄s the dark and electro element of their character that gives to this recipe a spicy and hot filling.
Their extraordinary album, ‘Dawn of Days’, was released in 2016, followed by the remix album ‘NYX’ in February 2018, which includes songs from their latest release, with a huge impact, as it entered the top ten of the German charts.
The famous band, released in April 2021 the Digital Single ‘Ghost Dance’, with this song Siva Six annouced the release of ‘DeathCult’, which had released on November 19th 2021 by Alfa Matrix Records worldwide.
Their last show in Athens, Greece was in January and we are looking forward to see them again!
George Z the co-star of the band, opened his heart in a revealing interview to Radio Highway Pirates and talked to us about the band, their collaborations, the industrial dark/electro music, the impact to Greek and foreign audience and their plans.
What is the history of Siva Six and what make them stand out?
“Our first album came out 18 years ago, since then we have released several albums, EP’s and singles, we always walked in our shoes and that’s one of the reasons we are still here.”
When did you feel the first stings of electro music?
“That should be at early 90’s, bands like Front 242, Einstuerzende Neubauten, NIN and so many more triggered us to delve into Electro/Industrial genre.”
Comment on the following lyrics:
“Along my way the pit of slaying, my ticket pay, of Ghost Dance”
“No comments…lol, that is a very personal song which describes the death of an intimate relationship of mine and the aftermath.”
Tell us a few words about the successful & Deathcult and your collaboration with Alpha Matrix.
“We have been working with Alfa Matrix for 12 years, though our contract is by now fulfilled. ‘DeathCult’ album was perceived by fans and media as one of our best so far personally I really love this one, it has climbed at the top 10 of GEWC for 8 weeks in a row (German Charts).”
Which is the source of inspiration and creation of your eccentric and powerful image of your video clips and stage presence?
“Inspiration may vary since my influences from music, films and life itself is repetitive and compulsive, after all that’s us and a part of our souls either music or video wise.”
Which album, it΄s your favourite one and what messages do you want to give?
“That’s a hard one….but I could say ‘DeathCult’, ‘Black Will’ and ‘The Twin Moons’ are my favs, some of them are concept albums, the message is to express our feelings and point of view and to share our experiences upon various topics such as Death, Apocalypse, The Occult and the Spiritual paths, Love & Hate.”
How does the Greek music industry differ from the foreign one?
“I guess it does not although it’s a small market with its own special traits and definitely not friendly for the underground, we were lucky I guess and mindful choosing to sing a deal with a foreign label since day 1.”
What is the response of the Greek public to industrial-dark music in relation to foreign fans?
“There is a descent scene in Greece, we always had a good feedback and felt loved by the local scene thus the many shows given, the scene in central Europe and mostly Germany is big, our fans are mostly from USA ,Germany, Mexico nad many other countries aswell number wise.”
What was your best live show, so far, in terms of crowd and collaboration?
“Definitely our headline show in WGT 2018 (DE) a full packed venue with an amazing crowed, Osaka Japan was a night that can not be forgotten, our latest show in Barcelona was a total blast…”
Tell us about your collaboration with the great Christos Antoniou?
“We know each other since we were underaged….lol there is a mutual respect , Christos is a great musician and we were privileged to cooperate with him in various of our albums, he composed the orchestral/symphonic parts.”
Is there any goal you haven’t achieved yet?
“Sure…to gig around south & north America and a few more I wish to keep private.”
Do you believe that music has labels and borders?
“Borders specially nowdays no.. labels yes like it or not, my personal mindset about labelling music is..good one and bad one no matter where is it coming from ,who creates it and how its created.”
Do you think that music is a weapon to purify all this social decay we live in?
“It should be a means for purification against decay and the decadence of moral ethics we live in, music is a weapon ,music is one of the highest forms of expression, talent and therefore art, music is and should be the voice of us all, music is and should be a revolt and not a ‘fast food’ product to consume.”
Tell us your new musical steps.
“I have been ghosted by my home studio since last summer, stirring a few poisonous ideas…Thank you for the interview dear.”

Phoney Sea – Kostas Kyriakidis:
Falling Down’s lyrics
are about the human condition
an interview by Maria Stella Tsatsi

PHONEY SEA are:
James Barratt – guitar
Chris Dando – vocals
Kevin Hide – bass
Kostas Kyriakidis – drums
Hate turned our hearts into stone
And drowned the songs of summer
Lovers torn apart and lost in yesterday
In our dreams, we’re never gonna know, we’re never gonna have to
hide for our protection
With these lyrics, the song ‘Falling down’, begins and takes us on an exciting journey through aggressive sparks of music, dressed in dreamlike sections and serene colors, based on true events and explores loosely the themes of loss and human conditions.
The newcomer band, which name it’s Phoney Sea, just born and it’s a postmetal band from Birmingham of England.
Phoney Sea team is James Barratt/quitar, Chris Dando/Vocals, KevinHide/Bass and Kostas Kyriakidis/Drums.
It plays between elements of shoegaze and 70’s psychedelia, progressive and rock metal.
The rock band , set out to explore the fusion of conflicting and heterogeneous soundscapes and also discontinuous forms.
Phoney Sea, it΄s another musical miracle of the wellknown Kostas Kyriakidis, another one of his creations, full of light and inspiration as always.
Kostas Kyriakidis, from the time he remembers himself, began to deal with music, composition and his cult, the guitar. In 1984, he was a drummer for Art of Parties and released his first single with Creep Records.
Afterwards he was the drummer and member of Spitfire” and released ‘First Attack’ by E.M.I.
In 1990 he creates Raw Silk, he writes lyrics and music and records the drums for the also classic album ‘Silk Under the Skin’, which also is released by E.M.I.
His career is bright and upward, during his studies, he writes the music for the short animated film Dog (directed by Suzie Templeton) which awarded a BAFTA in 2001.
Ηe also, writes the music and lyrics and records for the second album of Raw Silk ‘The Borders of Light’ with a new line-up, consisting of Englishmen musicians.
In 2018 Raw Silk will perform live at Crow club in Athens, Greece.
Since 2008, Kostas Kyriakidis lives in Great Britain, as a musician and teacher untill now.
The great musician and founder of Phoney Sea, in a super exclusive
interview at Radio Highway Pirates, talked to us, about the band, himself, about Raw Silk, Spitfire and his upcoming plans.
What is the identity of Phoney Sea and what inspired you to give this name to the group?
“Phoney Sea are a new post-metal project from Birmingham UK. Being a new band our identity is still very much in the process of creation. Our music sets out to explore contrasting, atmospheric and dreamlike soundscapes, combining melodic and heavier elements. Our influences range from prog bands of the 70s such as Pink Floyd, Genesis, Rush, Jethro Tull to 20th century industrial and alternative metal, Sludge metal and Doom. The band’s name and its meaning is a kind of a secret that we wouldn’t like to give away that easily. Any guesses?”
Introduce us to the members of Phoney Sea.
“In Phoney Sea, I have the pleasure of collaborating again with Chris Dando (Awaken Eternity, Cloven Hoof) – vocalist and producer – and James Barratt on guitars. I had previously worked with Chris and James during 2017 and 2018 on Raw Silk’s second full length The Borders of Light and we had a great time back then. Kevin Hide of Awaken Eternity did the bass for us and he really nailed it. The recordings took place in Chris’ Vault Studio in Kidderminster between January and March 2023. The track was expertly mastered by Svante Forsbäck (Rammstein, Volbeat, Dragonforce, Sonata Arctica, Apocalyptica).”
What is the story behind ‘Falling Down’ and what kind of messages do you want to give?
“‘Falling Down’s lyrics are about the human condition. It’s written mainly in a stream of consciousness style and is something like a reverie or an internal dialogue on memories, childhood dreams, trauma, longing and hope. I don’t want to overanalyze or give a set explanation about my lyrics but rather let the listener create their own narrative based on their interpretation. I suppose some of the themes are related to the ‘The Borders of Light’ album and especially tracks such as Chimera, The Borders of Light and Solitude of Pain. I think people who like Falling Down will probably like those tracks as well and vice versa.”
How do you feel that the short animated film ‘Dog’, for which you wrote the music, was awarded a Bafta?
“It was a great collaboration. I really enjoyed the process of writing the music and I am really proud of it. There was a lot of creative discussion between me and the director Suzie Templeton and eventually the soundtrack emerged effortlessly and it felt very organic and natural. We had a very similar vision in terms of musical style and that also helped a lot. Again, I am very proud of having written the music for a film that has won such a prestigious prize.”
Tell me a few words about Raw Silk and your history with them?
“Like ‘First Attack’, ‘Silk Under the Skin’, was a breakthrough album for the Greek rock scene. That was owing, to a great extent, to the amazing work of tireless and passionate producer Kostas Kalimeris who recorded and mixed both of them. It is not a coincidence that both albums did so well. Through the years, Kostas has certainly been one of my favorite collaborators. The album also features great performances from many talented musicians. ‘Silk Under the Skin’, seems to have captured the vibe of the era and with the aid of a very youthful and stylish ‘Street Girl’ video clip seemed to have appealed to a global audience. I really enjoyed managing to complete the long-awaited release of Raw Silk’s second album ‘The Borders of Light’. The album was released independently worldwide and was received with enthusiasm by the vast majority of press and fans. It also received excellent reviews. Although Covid hit us hard and disrupted our plans, we are hoping that we will regroup very soon and start writing new material.”
What taste did your experience with Spitfire leaves you?
“Drumming on Spitfire ‘First Attack’ was a great experience and a big learning curve both musically and personally. Really enjoyed my drumming on that album and it is very rewarding when new Greek drummers tell me how it has also influenced their musical journey. There was a lot of passion and enthusiasm in that first line-up and I think this is reflected in the music as well. It’s great that the band is still active and I hope they find lasting success in the future.”
What are the upcoming plans of Phoney Sea?
“As a songwriter Phoney Sea has given me the freedom to experiment with more unconventional soundscapes than ever before. Its fair to say that this style of music reflects accurately where I am at the moment from a musical perspective. This is an independent project and it is for the long term especially after the very encouraging response that Falling Down has received so far. The plan is to release a second track before the end of 2023 and then possibly two or three more in the following year.”

Maria Stella Tsatsi

Bullet are:
Dag “Hell” Hofer – vocals

“Stand true to your roots and have a good time doing it”
Explosive, relentless, fiery, rough, and ‘too hard to die’.

Get a taste of heavy metal world star guys!
Are you ready?
Could you introduce us all the deadly bullets of the band?
“Hey Maria! I will try my best to introduce the band for you. Hell Hofer was born in a cave. Met him in 1996 when he was driving his Harley to school, dressed in black leather. The mightiest metal singer in the world. He likes to drink vodka and eat meat. Gustav Hector plays bass and is a gourmand too. Hes the best chef I ever met. He pounds his bass harder than anyone else. He’s into driving cabriolet cars and headbanging. Gustav Hjortsjö is pounding the drums and he loves to ride his motorcycle fast. One of the best drummers I ever heard. I am the guitarplayer (Hampus Klang) and I love Flying V guitars, Marshall amps, old buses and motorcycles. Im also a chickenbreeder, I have my own breed called Party Queens. We are right now searching for a fifth member since Alex left the band. A fast guitarplayer with attitude.”
What is the band’s ‘magic recipe’ for success?
“Never give up! Do everything as good as you can. Stand true to your roots and have a good time doing it.”
Tell us something about the music in Växjo. Do you think it was difficult to overcome all the obstacles in your way?
“Växjö has been a musical city since the 60-70s. Thin Lizzy, Ac/dc and Sex pistols played here. Växjö is located between the big cities so it was good for bands to play here at day offs and so on. Was many bands around when we were kids in the 90s. Easy to find rehersalrooms and it was demos coming out all the time here. The biggest obstacles was to find members that wanted to play this kind of music. It was so unpopular. A leather jacket wasn’t popular. We struggled on!”
What is the ultimate album for you, so far?
“If I had to pick one I would say ‘Back In Black’ by Ac/Dc. The sound is so good. The songs too. The performance. Everything!! A magical album. What a comeback after the legendary Bon Scott.”
Where does the band find the trigger and continue?
“I Have been doing this since I was 14, so this is normal life for me. We dont want to work at a factory. We rather cruise around in a bus playing for the fans and have a beer or two with them. Our souls are restless…”
Which one of your songs is more heart and soul to Βullet?
“‘Bang your head’ has a special meaning for us cause it was the first song we wrote together as a band. It says it all. It turned out so good and don’t have the normal verse chorus formula. It just clicked and we were so happy with it.”
How do you work when you create your songs?
“Most of the time it starts with a guitar and then try to add more that works to it and sing along with made up vocals and then find the words for it. It takes a lot of time. Most of the ideas is going in the trash bin.”
Which was the reason that you named your album ‘Dust To Gold’?
“We were working for a title that would fit the song and it took like a year until we found it. And that title for the song worked good as album title too. Simple as that.”
What caused this very album to take so long?
“We spent so much time in the rehearsalroom cause we wanted the album to be the best we ever done. I’m very happy with the result. One of our best albums. It just takes time to do it. We toured a lot after the ‘Storm of Blades’ album too. I think it’s hard to write music while on tour.”
What about your latest album ‘Really Dat’?
“We’re working on it! Have lots of demo ideas but only like 4-5 finished songs that is more or less done. We really hope that the new guy that will join us can give us new inputs and ideas to finish the songs.”
Could you tell me a few words about your ‘meeting’ with ΑC/DC at Ullevi in Gothenburg?
“It was a dream come true! Things are so big on that level. Our Bulletbus from 1964 looked like a small van compared to Ac/dc’s 40 mega huge trucks. Even that our bus is 12 meter long. We thought no one would show up to us. But 50.000 did. Magic night!!!”
How would you describe your experience of performing live in front of thousands of people in October 2009?
“It’s so big so it’s hard to take in. I can imagine the pressure on these artist. If it’s a great show it would me a dream if it’s bad it must be a nightmare. But for us it was so unbelievable great!! And Ac/dc was great too. It was summer, don’t think it was October.”
Tell me a band or a singer, who its a lifelong dream to work with.
“Don’t think I have to be honest. Would be fantastic to have guest vocals from Rob Halford, Dee Snider or Blackie Lawless. But I’m happy, just to turn on their records.”
Do you think that maintaining your classicism is what has kept you strong for so many years to move forward successfully?
“We just wanna play the music, we like and people can call it whatever they like. I think it’s timeless. Just good taste. A guitar should sound like a gibson thru a Marshall stack. Not like a computer.”
What is your knowledge that even a mediocre song becomes popular through a masterful music video?
“I have givin up what people like nowadays. Most of the stuff is so bad. You don’t even have to sing good anymore. A computer can fix it. It’s not rock n roll.”
How did you feel when Iron Maiden singer Bruce Dickinson, played the Bullet song ‘Turn it Up Loud’ on his radio program on BBC in 2006?
“That was unexpected and we got very happy about it. ‘Turn it up loud’ is a favorite. Very simple but good song. Works live every time. Have been Iron Maiden fans for a long long time. One of the best singers around. We will go see them this weekend at Sweden rock festival.”
What are your impressions from your concert in Athens in Autumn 2019 at Crow Club?
“It was great!! Lots of headbangers. First time for us in Greece too. Love to come back!! Remember, we got like a mountain of meet served on paper at the restaurants. Never seen that before. We bought a coffee on the street and got some vodka shots for free. That would never happen in Sweden.”
Could you share with us your next live shows and your future plans?
“The plan is to find a new guitarplayer. Will try out a new guy soon. We have some festivals in Sweden and Germany. Some ideas for upcoming tours too. And of course finish the songwriting, for the new yet untitled album and crush the world with out Heavy Metal once again. Hopefully come back to Greece soon too!!! Stay wild forever!!!”
MALICE IN EDEN
an American hard rock newcomer
an interview by
Maria Stella Tsatsi

MALICE IN EDEN are:
Barak Alexander Seguin – vocals
Adrian Aerostone – lead guitars
Chris Jordan – drums
Jeff Simmons – bass

MALICE IN EDEN – JEFF SIMMONS
Since the beginning of time there was Eden, then came the Malice?
I don’t know…
I only know one thing, about Malice in Eden.
Four rock’n’roll fires, spreading from Austin/Texas in 2021 and slowly to the whole world, in order to thrill us and addict us forever.
Their music combines modern rock and often has traces of metal elements, the intense splashes of guitars in the background, is one of the parts that makes them so unique, a velvety, erotic voice with a strong rock tone spills into the room, under the dynamic sound of the bass, making the audience applaud over and over again.
‘Now you Know’, ‘Diamond Bright’, ‘Chains’ and ‘Trance Electric’ are their fabulous and successful songs.
The massive self-titled debut-EP is available on all streaming platforms, which have made a splash at their live shows.
So, let’s welcome, all the Malice in Eden team:
Barak Alexander Seguin on vocals, Chris Jordan drums, Jeff Simmons bass and Adrian Arostone guitar.
Through his super exclusive interview to radio highway pirates Jeff Simons talked to us about Malice in Eden, music, their ideal singles, their cooperations and their upcoming plans.
How was Malice in Eden born?
“Chris, Adrian & I started playing together in 2020 with rebooting the band named South Bound Saints in Austin, Texas. This was one of Chris Jordans (drums) previous bands. Then Pandemic hit, that band fell apart and the three of us decided to start a new band. Sometime in 2021 we started writing music while looking for a singer. We had multiple ads out all over Texas and landed Barak Alex Seguin as our Vocalist Sept 2021. December 2021 we were in the studio recording. March 2022 our debut EP was released, March 31, 2022, was the first Malice in Eden show.”
Where was your first show?
“It was at a place called COME & TAKE IT, LIVE in Austin, TX”
How did the name of the band come about?
“It took a while because we were so focused on defining our writing. We were a three-piece band at the time. Chris our drummer came up with the name, we all agreed it fit what we were doing! The name is based on good & evil, right and wrong. We are always faced with things like that, you know.”
Introduce us the rest of the gang
“Sure! the band is – Vocals: Barak Alexander Seguin, Lead Guitars: Adrian Aerostone, Drums: Chris Jordan, Bass: Jeff Simmons”
Is there any Malice in your Eden?
“That’s a good one! overall were pretty chill together & get along very well. The only ‘malice’ you could say is when we are arranging new music. We all have ideas for how we want it to work, but in the end our chemistry works very well together. We have accomplished a lot as a new band. So, there is no malice.”
Do you believe that the rock element, has always been into you?
“Yes, we all bring different styles and ideas of rock that influenced all of us. Our music represents that very well.”
What were the influences and the basis on which you were walking?
“Oh, that’s a big one! Hard to list them all if you know what I mean. Zeppelin, LA Guns, Iron Maiden, etc. We could list a whole lot more!”
Does the guitar’s commanding element take us to a journey, through each of your songs?
“Great question! Yes, the guitar in our sound is very much in front and prominent. Very often the lyric content or theme of each song we have blends and attaches very well with the music that we create.”
Do you think it’s difficult or easy mixing rock and metal in one?
“Rock and Metal can be difficult because we (like other bands) are trying to stand out and sound unique. But the four of us together when we’re writing, mixing and performing our sound is very distinct and it does stand out from other bands, I think. We don’t want to be just another band on the scene. We want to be THAT band on the scene.”
By what criteria do you select your songs?
“We share ideas a lot. Our selection is very intricate and detail oriented. We all contribute and individually present new ideas or riffs. Then we work on it, some songs get scrapped others are written quickly. It just depends on the idea. The music presented for new ideas can be slow and melodic or fast and pounding, I think that I say a lot about what is going on in our life at the moment individually.”
Could you tell me two of your songs that your fans adore?
“Trance Electric from our EP has captured fans attention, it’s gritty and driving with a catchy hook of ‘Summon the devil you know’. The other song is Benevolent Abyss, we recently just recorded it and it will be released soon. It’s a deep song for the band, and I think that fans pick up on that. So, live it goes over very well.”
Tell me a few words about your new song, and your cooperation
“So, one of the new songs that I just spoke about, the lyric content is about addiction (to anything), the music was present by our guitarist Adrian. No date yet. Likely will be released on our LP later. That one was a long one to record and mix because of how special it is if you know what I mean.”
What means music for you in one word?
“LIFE. Because without music life would not be complete. I saw a comment once made from an Iron Maiden fan. It said: ‘Iron Maiden is my religion’. That is great because, as musicians and music fans some of the greatest music is like that, it is our religion!”
Describe me the first time, you were on stage live and how did you feel (as a band)
“Yeah, so Malice in Eden‘s first show was March 31st 2022. We were unknown, but there was actually a lot of hype happening before this show about, who we were. In fact the bill that we were on. We were the very first band to play, so we were on the early time slot, so we weren’t really sure, how the evening was going to go, because we were playing so early, and actually to our surprise there was a great crowd and huge turnout, so there was a lot of people, that actually wanted to see us. It was a great experience for our first show.”
Tell me a few words about your recently live events
“Epic and Energetic! The last show was great! Our last show on April 29 we opened for Quiet Riot. The show was great, we had fans show up and got new fans too! Great response from the crowd there. The guys from Quiet Riot were very cool to hang out with, much respect for them.”
What are your impressions at your concert at Cedar Park?
“This was the Quiet Riot show. The crowd was fantastic, the people didn’t know who we were, got into our music a lot! The fans that came to see us were all wearing Malice in Eden shirts and rocked. It was just that while we were playing, we could see them. After the show, we were meeting them and new fans at our merchandise booth, they were wearing our band t-shirts and cheering and rocking. It was a good time!”
Do you believe that diamonds are always bright?
“Diamond Bright was our first single and video we released. The song deals with being lured into something very shinny and bright. But in the end, it was a trap and does not end well. It is based on the poem of the spider and the fly, creepy ha ha! Bright is based on who is looking at the diamond. What is bright to me is not the same as what is bright to you or someone else.”
Are there any lyrics in any of your songs that reflect you? (As a band and as jeff)?
“Good question. We have a song called ‘Now you Know’, talks about what someone would do for another. Thats is one that is relatable!”
What are your plans for your near future?
“Currently, the band is booked through August. We are going to be recording and releasing more music. We just recently recorded new music and will be releasing a new single very soon called ‘WHAT IS NEXT’. In fact, this weekend making a new video for the single. Lots happening for us! It is a hard-driving song. It is great! The next shows are in Texas. Were ready to keep rocking live!” Maria Stella Tsatsi
DIE SUICIDES
a German punk legend
an interview by
Maria Stella Tsatsi

Die Suicides-Μike Neun: I didn’t see any glam concert in the 80’s
What comes into your mind when you are listening punk music?
Certainly not everyone likes it, but surely many of us!
It is particularly, a little bit unusual and has selective listeners.
However, when punk music is led by a band like ‘Die Suicides‘, then things change and take another color and shape.
‘Die Suicides‘ is one of almost Germany’s first punk bands that was found in 1977, with many fanatical fans, that loved this kind of music because of them!
Munich has ‘Τhe Pack’ and Erlangen has ‘Die Suicides‘.
‘Βier und Zigaretten’, ‘Mich packt der Wahn’, ‘Arbeitsscheu und dauerblau’ etc., were some of their greatest hits that we adore to listen to.
Tilo Heider/ drums, Andy Dorn and Bastl Siegl /Bass, Dirk N. Steuerlein guitar/vocals and Mike Neun/vocals.
Τhey are the punk drivers of this crazy punk group, would you like to get on board?
Mike Neun, the superstar of the band is not only the en spoke singer of the band, but he is also a successful director, writer and also starred in some of his short films.
The singer, has also his own label, called ‘Shock Film Corporation Erlangen’.
Many of his great short films such as ‘Μampf’, The Movie (2018), ‘The footballkillers’ (2013), ‘Strickliesel’ – Der Film (2014), ‘Müllcolm X – Die seltsamen Abenteuer des Müllmannes Mario’ (2020) etc.
‘Die Suicides‘, will continue to drive us to their punk delirium music, as long as we are still alive.
Mike Neun, through his exclusive interview at radiohp.net, talked to us about ‘Die Suicides’, himself, ‘Shock Film Corporation Erlangen’, ‘the Weekend of Fear film festival Erlangen’ and his upcoming plans.
How did your love for music begin?
“My love for music started when I was about 6 years old.”
How did the name Die Suicides come about?
“Ohh..the bands name. Well back in the 70ies those kind of brutal names for bands was not very seldom. Just to remeber…Stranglers, Damend, Spitfire Boys etc etc.”
Could you introduce us to the band of ‘Die Suicides‘?
“We have had many changes over the years, also some members have already died. The actual lineup is, Tilo Heider drums, Andy Dorn and Bastl Siegl bass, Dirk N.Steuerlein guitar/vocals and Mike Neun/vocals.”
How do you feel that ‘Die Suicides‘ is one of the most successful punk groups in the world?
“LOL.. we are little known in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and Great Britain, but not worldwide.”
What kind of influences did you have and follow this type of music?
“Definitely not Pink Floyd or Genesis…. more Sweet, Suzi Quatro and T.Rex.”
What do you consider the biggest success in your career so far?
“More success? To be still allive!!!”
How would you describe your career in one word?
“OK!!”
Would you like to describe the first time you went on stage?
(emotions, images, music, etc.)
“A long time ago…. We couldn’t play at all, but we worked in the cellar of a kindergarden anyway. The audience didn’t know how to handle weird kids like us!”
How did one of your biggest hits ‘Bier und Zigaretten’ come about?
