Once upon a time, deep within the Black Forest, where ancient trees whispered to one another and the winding paths were known to few, there lived an old and wise Wizard.
His cottage stood in a little clearing, surrounded by moss-covered stones, wildflowers, and trees so old that even the wind seemed to speak softly among their branches.
One sunny afternoon, the Wizard sat upon his porch in an old wooden rocking chair.
His long white beard rested upon his chest, and his eyes were half closed as he listened to the birds singing in the forest.
He had almost fallen asleep when a familiar little figure appeared along the path.
It was the Little Hobbit.
But unlike other days, the Hobbit did not come skipping through the clearing.
He walked slowly, his shoulders bent beneath a burden that no one could see.
“Master,”
he said, stopping before the porch.
The Wizard opened one eye.
“Ah, my little friend. You walk as though you have been carrying the whole mountain upon your back.”
The Hobbit sighed.
