Symphonic metal titans Kamelot are preparing to make 2026 one of the most ambitious years in their already formidable career.
With the announcement of the ‘Dark Asylum World Tour‘, the band will embark on extensive headline runs across North America and Europe – culminating in a brand-new festival concept that promises to elevate their signature blend of cinematic grandeur and melodic power to new heights.
The journey begins in North America, where Kamelot will kick off a month-long headline tour on August 28 in Orlando, Florida, wrapping up on September 27 in Silver Spring, Maryland.
Joining them on the road are Visions of Atlantis as direct support and Frozen Crown opening each night – forming a lineup that reads like a who’s who of modern melodic and symphonic metal.
It’s a tour designed for scale, pairing Kamelot’s theatrical stage presence with a carefully curated supporting cast that mirrors their epic aesthetic.
From there, the band will cross the Atlantic for an equally expansive European run, launching on Halloween weekend with something entirely new:
KAMFEST.
Set to take place on October 30 and 31 at O13 in Tilburg, the two-night event is more than just a festival – it’s a curated experience.
Each evening will feature a distinct lineup, bringing together established names and rising forces from across the symphonic and melodic metal spectrum.
Night one will see performances from Xandria, Leaves’ Eyes, and Elegy, while night two shifts focus to Blackbriar, Exit Eden, and Temperance.
At the center of it all, Kamelot will headline both nights, delivering what promises to be two unique performances shaped by evolving setlists and enhanced production.
Following KAMFEST, the European tour continues across 18 cities, concluding in Madrid on November 22.
Along the way, Kamelot will be joined by Exit Eden as special guests, with Temperance providing additional support – ensuring a consistently high-caliber lineup throughout the run.
For band founder Thomas Youngblood, this new chapter represents more than just another tour cycle.
It’s an opportunity to reimagine the live experience.
The promise is clear:
a fusion of symphonic power and dark atmosphere, delivered on a scale that matches the band’s evolving artistic vision.
Few bands in modern metal can claim a legacy as expansive as Kamelot’s.
With 13 studio albums behind them and a reputation built on both technical precision and emotional depth, they have long occupied a unique space within the genre.
Their 2023 release ‘The Awakening‘ marked yet another milestone – charting at No. 2 on the US Current Hard Music Albums chart and breaking into the German Top 10 for the first time in their career.
It also reinforced their commitment to collaboration, featuring contributions from artists such as Tina Guo and Alissa White-Gluz.
Yet what continues to set Kamelot apart is their refusal to stand still.
While their roots remain firmly planted in symphonic metal, their sound continues to evolve – layered, cinematic, and increasingly immersive.
The ‘Dark Asylum World Tour‘ and KAMFEST 2026 feel like the natural extension of that philosophy:
not just a celebration of where they’ve been, but a bold statement about where they’re headed next.
