‘Kids Of Our Time’

Canadian rock artist St. Doval has unveiled his latest single, ‘Kids of Our Time‘, a powerful, hook-driven Rock anthem that blends raw nostalgia with the restless energy of modern life.
Equal parts personal memoir and cultural commentary, the track captures what it feels like to grow up in an age of economic uncertainty, digital noise, and fading innocence.
With vivid lyrics that recall ‘full of dreams of a big red house‘, ‘Kids of Our Time‘ paints a snapshot of a childhood untouched by screens, contrasted against the chaotic backdrop of modern day life.
The song’s propulsive rock instrumentation underscores its emotional push-and-pull – a longing to return to the optimism of youth while wrestling with the reality of today’s confusing social, economic and political world.
St. Doval:
“I remember the time before the internet and what that felt like. We might be the last kids to ever grow up without likes, follows, and filters. For many of us, adulthood doesn’t look like it used to. Owning a home, starting a family – the milestones we grew up expecting – feel out of reach, so we’ve had to redefine what it means to grow up – even if that means not growing up at all.”
Written and produced by J.C. Sandoval, the creative force behind St. Doval, the track builds on his decades of live performance experience, from touring Canada and internationally sharing stages with notable rock acts such as Marilyn Manson, The Subways and Tommy Stinson (The Replacements).
Known for his emotionally charged lyrics and electrifying shows, he has cultivated a dedicated fanbase that connects deeply with his blend of anthemic choruses and grounded storytelling.

‘Moonlight’
J.C. Sandoval is the creative force behind St. Doval.
Growing up enamored with the anthemic rock sound of the 90s—characterized by soaring choruses, thunderous guitars, and emotive vocals— J.C. honed his craft playing in various touring bands, including the late Care Failure’s Canadian Rock band Die Mannequin.
His musical journey continued with the Toronto-based band The Crooked/We The Crooked.
After the band’s dissolution, he took time to rediscover his voice and vision.
Now, with the formation of St. Doval, he brings a fresh, dynamic edge to his music, blending his rock roots with a renewed sense of purpose, creativity, and heart.
‘Moonlight‘ is the debut single from the project.
The track is drenched in nostalgia.
Drawing inspiration from timeless classics like Aerosmith’s ‘Seasons of Wither‘ and Indio’s ‘Hard Sun‘ (later covered by Eddie Vedder), ‘Moonlight‘ paints a vivid picture of cherished memories wrapped in alluring tones.
It serves as a testament to the power of reflection and the emotional landscape of past relationships.
