We channeled our devastation and respect into a new composition that feels both authentically ours and deeply reverent to Ozzy’s legacy. It captures the duality of Ozzy’s persona. The dark ‘Prince of Darkness’ and the beloved, resilient human being who inspired millions. The track channels the heaviness of Ozzy’s band and Black Sabbath into a powerful metal anthem that honors his legacy. It’s as heavy as classics like ‘Over the Mountain’, ‘I Don’t Know’ or ‘Bark at the Moon’ but with the poignant weight of his passing. We wove his legacy directly into the words, from ‘Barking at the Moon’ to ‘Road to Nowhere’. Calling his battle with Parkinson’s the ‘Ultimate Sin’ is our way of naming the enemy he fought so hard. In the centerpiece, the song breaks into a heavy funeral passage. A dark, slow moment of respect. Our mission: Using his legendary iconic phrase as our title and chorus is our way of keeping the madness alive. This song is for every fan who wants to scream along and celebrate his immortal legacy. The band’s journey began in 2019, marked by the challenge of songwriting during the onset of COVID-19 and an extensive search for the right vocalist.
The turning point came in late winter 2023 when Phil Forget started singing and playing guitar, propelling Crush the Core onto a trajectory of continuous growth.
