Brass Camel from Vancouver, British Columbia have returned with a brand-new single titled ‘What Are You Going To Do‘.
The track serves as the second preview of the band’s upcoming self-titled album ‘Brass Camel‘, set for release on April 15, 2026.
Produced once again by the band together with Kevin Comeau of Crown Lands, the album also features mixing by legendary producer and engineer Terry Brown, best known for his work with Rush.
Musically, ‘What Are You Going To Do‘ captures the band’s energetic blend of classic rock influences and modern progressive elements, while lyrically the song reflects on the dangers of postponing important decisions – especially those that can deeply affect both ourselves and the people around us.
The upcoming record was written shortly before the band headed out on the road last year to support their previous album ‘Camel‘.
Much of the new material was later recorded during the tour at Chalet Studios in Uxbridge, Ontario, where Brass Camel worked closely with Comeau, who served as engineer and co-producer.
The rural studio setting – located on a farm and surrounded by open landscapes – proved to be an inspiring environment.
Large windows in the live room offered natural light and views of the countryside, thunderstorms rolling across the fields, and the quiet rhythms of rural Ontario.
The band chose to capture the core performances live in the studio, recording the basic tracks together in the same room.
Many of those performances were preserved largely intact during the mixing process, giving the album a raw and organic feel that reflects the band’s live energy.
Bringing Terry Brown on board for the final mix added another layer of experience to the project.
With a career that includes classic recordings with Rush as well as engineering work on Axis:
‘Bold as Love‘ by The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Brown helped shape the album’s expansive sound.
According to the band, the new record explores a wider musical range than their previous releases while staying true to the spirit that defines Brass Camel.
If the new single is any indication, the upcoming album promises a dynamic mix of powerful performances, atmospheric moments and the kind of raw, band-in-a-room energy that rewards listeners with every spin.
