American shock rock legends W.A.S.P. are turning back the clock in thunderous fashion.
In fall 2026, the band will launch the ‘1984 To Headless‘ North America Tour, a U.S. and Canada run that revisits the first four albums which cemented their place in heavy metal history.
Joining them as very special guests:
KK’s Priest.
Kicking off on September 10 in California and running through October 31, the tour promises more than a greatest-hits set.
W.A.S.P. will focus exclusively on material from their formative years – drawing from their self-titled debut ‘W.A.S.P.‘ (1984), ‘The Last Command‘ (1985), ‘Inside the Electric Circus‘ (1987), and the towering ‘The Headless Children‘ (1989).
Those records defined the band’s legacy, establishing them not merely as provocateurs, but as architects of theatrical heavy metal at its most bombastic and confrontational.
In their 44-year history, W.A.S.P. have built a reputation as pioneers of shock rock and psycho-drama, infamous as much for their stage spectacle as for their music.
From the early days in the clubs of Los Angeles to international controversy that saw governments and religious groups attempt to ban them, the band thrived on confrontation.
Few acts have inspired such polarizing reactions – love, outrage, fascination – while continuing to sell millions of records and pack venues worldwide.
Frontman and founding member Blackie Lawless remains the driving force behind the band’s vision.
As lead vocalist and primary songwriter since day one, Lawless has steered W.A.S.P. through decades of cultural shifts, blending visual excess with social and political commentary.
For him, the ‘1984 To Headless‘ tour is something unprecedented.
“It’s hard to express the genuine excitement I’m feeling,”
Lawless says.
“Playing those songs from those first four albums in a combined package like this is something we’ve never attempted before. The entire stage show will look like the album covers from those records come alive – right before your eyes. Complete with all the history and bombastic live presentations that’s made this band one of the great live bands in theatrical rock. When elements of those album covers start to come alive onstage, it’s going to be something people won’t soon forget.”
If that promise holds true, fans can expect a full-scale rock spectacle – less a standard concert and more a living, breathing tribute to the era that defined W.A.S.P.’s mythology.
The band has also confirmed that the production will travel to Europe and beyond in 2027.
Adding further firepower to the bill are KK’s Priest, led by legendary guitarist K. K. Downing.
After four decades as a founding member of Judas Priest, Downing returned to the spotlight with renewed purpose, channeling the classic twin-guitar ethos that helped shape heavy metal itself.
Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and author of a revealing 2018 autobiography, Downing has made it clear that retirement was never in the cards.
“Great news! KK’s Priest is returning to the U.S. and Canada in September and October 2026,”
Downing says.
“Teaming up with metal legends W.A.S.P. for over 40 shows – this is going to be an epic metal and steel tour featuring lots of Priest classics.”
The pairing feels natural:
two acts forged in the early fires of heavy metal, each with a legacy built on volume, virtuosity, and larger-than-life presence.
For longtime fans, it’s a double shot of classic steel delivered on the same stage, the same night.
W.A.S.P. will once again offer VIP packages, giving fans the opportunity to meet Lawless, take personal photos, receive autographs, explore the traveling W.A.S.P. museum – now expanded with new artifacts – and participate in an intimate Q&A session.
More than four decades after they first rattled the gates of polite society, W.A.S.P. are still leaning into the spectacle that made them infamous.
And with KK’s Priest alongside them, the ‘1984 To Headless‘ tour is shaping up not just as a nostalgia run, but as a full-scale celebration of heavy metal’s formative years – performed by the artists who helped define them.
