Enigmatic newcomers VERBANNT will release their all-consuming debut EP, ‘Falsche Versprechen‘ (False Promises), on Friday 8th November, via Der Abt Records.
The release is also backed by their enticing new single and lyric video, ‘Schrei Ohne Antwort‘.
Coming at you from the depths of London, blackened death metallers, VERBANNT, are newly formed this year.
The engulfing heavyweights, however, are already turning heads and captivating minds whilst building a fast reputation for their raw, unholy, and chaotic sound.
VERBANNT’s debut release focuses on the emotional struggles of exile, alienation, and systemic racism—an intense reflection of the unfairness many immigrants face today.
‘Falsche Versprechen‘ is more than just a collection of songs—it’s a visceral, politically charged statement.
With lyrical themes that raise potent questions about inequality and the harsh realities faced by marginalised communities, the EP calls out discriminatory systems, racism, and the violence embedded in modern societies.
With a sound and style that is unique and compelling, all music and lyrics on the EP are composed by VERBANNT’s founder and head honcho, Der Abt.
The vocals, performed entirely in German, shift between death metal growls and black metal shrieks, amplifying the intensity of the themes they address.
The music, which is brutal blackened death metal by nature, is also powerfully highlighted with absorbing melodic and atmospheric components.
