After more than three decades on the front lines of Italy’s extreme metal underground, Undertakers return with ‘Global Dominion‘, an album that perfectly captures the band’s uncompromising approach to heavy music.
Released on July 10, 2026, via Time To Kill Records, the record finds the veterans sounding more focused, more aggressive and more relevant than ever.
Formed in late 1991, Undertakers have earned a reputation as one of Italy’s longest-running and most relentless extreme metal acts.
Throughout their career, they have shared stages with some of the genre’s biggest names, including Napalm Death, Suffocation, Cannibal Corpse, Vader, Malevolent Creation, Sinister, Vital Remains and many others.
Three European tours and appearances at renowned festivals such as Brutal Assault and Dynamo Open Air further cemented their status as a formidable live band.
While the group’s roots lie firmly in classic death metal, Undertakers have continuously expanded their musical identity.
Today, their sound is an explosive fusion of grindcore, brutal death metal and hardcore, occasionally sharpened with black metal influences – a style the band proudly describes as ‘brutal-core‘.
Over the years they have never hesitated to experiment, whether through crossover projects, electronic reinterpretations of their own material or extreme reworkings of songs by artists as diverse as Suicidal Tendencies, 99 Posse and The Ramones.
With ‘Global Dominion‘, Undertakers present what may well be the defining release of their career.
Rather than relying on nostalgia or chasing modern trends, the album combines decades of experience with contemporary production while remaining true to its old-school spirit.
Violent grindcore intensity, crushing death metal riffs, hardcore urgency and razor-sharp blackened textures come together in a tightly controlled assault that balances precision with absolute chaos.
The album is equally ambitious lyrically.
At its core, ‘Global Dominion‘ examines power, control and submission in today’s world, not as abstract political concepts but as forces that shape everyday life.
Songs such as ‘Rise of the Resistance‘, ‘Collapse Protocol‘ and ‘Iron Regime‘ confront rebellion, institutional collapse and authoritarian rule, while ‘Plutocracy Era‘ explores the dominance of wealth and influence.
‘Just Keep Fighting‘ serves as the album’s uncompromising survival anthem before the title track and ‘United Front‘ conclude the record with a sober reflection on resistance, awareness and the realities of modern society.
Every riff, breakdown and blast beat feels deliberate, giving the album a sense of purpose that extends far beyond sheer aggression.
The result is a record that is brutally heavy yet thoughtfully constructed, proving that extreme music can be both sonically devastating and intellectually engaging.
With ‘Global Dominion‘, Undertakers demonstrate why they have remained a respected force in the underground for more than 30 years.
Cold, relentless and uncompromising, the album stands as a powerful statement from a band that continues to evolve without ever abandoning the spirit that defined them from the very beginning.
