TAKE THE PAIN
has released single
‘You Say’
T, the mastermind behind Take The Pain, lives a very secluded life.
The thoroughbred musician doesn‘t sleep much, his life mainly takes place in his own studio, especially at night.
T was musically socialized in the nineties:
Depeche Mode, Marilyn Manson, Placebo, Nine Inch Nails
“I only write the songs that I‘ve actually always wanted to hear from other bands.”
Confined to bed for some time after an accident, he began to play the guitar.
The instrument demanded a lot from him and he gave it his all, sinking into it completely.
From then on, he drowned his pain, powerlessness and unbridled rage with his own music.
“In the early days, I became my own abyss. I became Take The Pain without knowing it.”
After a gun was held to his head twice, he took up martial arts.
Judo and karate helped him to find inner peace and a self-awareness that the electric guitar could not give him.
T thus achieved a powerful balance between these poles.
After short-lived initial projects, he became the guitarist in a crossover band.
He doesn‘t want to say the name, they didn‘t part on good terms.
“We were on tour and released records.”
T from Take The Pain prefers to remain unrecognized.
He prefers to have let his songs speak for themselves.
Disappointed by the music circus, he withdrew into private life for a few years.
But his ideas wouldn‘t just let him go, so he continued writing and producing on his own.
One evening, the musical eccentric played his songs to some close friends, in complete contrast to his otherwise secretive nature.
The listeners were enthusiastic and wanted to have the tracks and shared them with other friends.
T was eventually persuaded to make more of Take The Pain.
The first person he approached was a publisher who had already worked with Shock Therapy, Fliehende Stürme, Silke Bischoff and many more from the dark scene.
On recommendation, T then chose 7hard as the record label for his project:
“The team is powerful and committed. At the same time, everything remains under my control.”
IckeYoMe, a street artist from Berlin was recruited for the entire artwork.
A fashion line with the logo is already being planned.
Jan Neidigk, the A&R of Take The Pain is enthusiastic:
“Take The Pain is not only a huge surprise as an overall concept. Every single track sounds like a title that should have been around for a long time but hasn‘t come out yet! To me, it sounds like top league music.”
The hook and the potential of ‘You Say‘ are the best example of this.
And there‘s more where that came from, because a day without a guitar and without music is not a day for T.
Take The Pain’s first self-titled debut EP will finally be released in the winter 24/25.
The artist‘s path to his audience is sometimes winding and unpredictable.
But the wait was definitely worth it for Take The Pain.
