Prepare to descend into the abyss.
Greek metal outfit Sons of Hades, forged in the depths of the underground, have unleashed their debut full-length assault, ‘Tombs of the Blind Dead‘ – a record steeped in menace and shaped by the legacy of extreme metal’s earliest agitators.
Channeling the chilling atmospheres of Mayhem and Emperor, sharpened by riffs reminiscent of Mercyful Fate, and fueled by the primal ferocity of early Bathory and Venom, Sons of Hades craft a sound that is both a tribute to the old gods and a fresh strike of their own making.
Formed in Athens (Greece) in 2023 by guitarist and vocalist Apostolis K. (Demolition Train, Winter Eternal, Chainsaw, Nightbreed), the band quickly crystallized into a lineup of seasoned scene stalwarts, including Vasilis K. (guitars, Demolition Train), Alex G. (bass, Nightbreed), and Vangelis F. (drums, Sacral Rage, Necrovorous, Chainsaw).
With shared bloodlines rooted firmly in the Greek underground, they set out to craft a sound that walks the razor’s edge – balancing aggression and melody with a morbid atmosphere soaked in blackened intent.
Recorded, mixed, and mastered at Ignite Studios by Giorgos Christoforidis, and visually sealed with evocative cover art by underground icon Dimitar Nikolov, ‘Tombs of the Blind Dead‘ stands as a fierce testament to Sons of Hades’ commitment to old-school black and heavy metal.
Bleak melodic passages, serrated guitar work, and an ever-present sense of impending doom define a record that refuses to be boxed in by genre constraints.
More than a debut, this release marks the arrival of a band determined to push further into the shadows – where the boundary between tradition and extremity dissolves, and the heartbeat of metal turns cold and relentless.
With ‘Tombs of the Blind Dead‘, Sons of Hades step confidently from the underground darkness – poised to leave their mark on the global metal landscape and captivate listeners drawn to the genre’s most sinister depths.
