Hard rock fans have a powerful new name to add to their playlists.
Kivel Records has officially welcomed Scar Chamber to its roster, unveiling the band’s debut album, ‘Ugly On The Inside‘, released on July 21.
Fronted by Babylon A.D. guitarist Ron Freschi and vocalist Jeff Winslow, the project delivers a hard-hitting collection of eleven songs that combines classic melodic hard rock with a darker, more contemporary edge.
For Freschi, ‘Ugly On The Inside‘ is not a departure from the sound that made him a respected figure in American hard rock, but rather a natural evolution.
His unmistakable guitar work and songwriting remain at the heart of the album, while exploring new musical territory without losing the melodic hooks and driving energy that fans have long associated with his career.
Together with Jeff Winslow, he forms a songwriting partnership that gives Scar Chamber both its distinctive identity and its undeniable chemistry.
The lineup is completed by drummer Dylan Soto (Babylon A.D.), whose energetic playing provides the album with its relentless momentum, while veteran bassist Jaron Gulino (Lynch Mob, Heavens Edge) joined the band after the recordings were completed, completing a lineup built for both the studio and the stage.
Musically, Scar Chamber delivers a powerful blend of melodic hard rock and gritty rock ‘n’ roll, balancing memorable choruses with heavy guitar riffs and an unmistakably dark atmosphere.
Fans of Babylon A.D., Lynch Mob and Harem Scarem will immediately recognize the band’s classic influences, while the songwriting offers enough freshness to give the project its own identity.
The album’s title track also serves as the band’s debut single and introduces listeners to Scar Chamber’s hard-edged sound.
Mixed and mastered by renowned producer Ty Sims, whose résumé includes work with House of Lords, Robin Beck, Tango Down and Bombay Black, the song captures the band’s polished yet powerful approach.
Accompanying the release is a music video filmed in Los Angeles and directed by Vicente Cordero of Industrialism Films, whose extensive portfolio includes videos for artists such as Queensrÿche, Mr. Big, Richie Kotzen, Black Veil Brides and Nita Strauss.
The release also marks a collaboration between Kivel Records and BraveWords Records, with the latter handling the album’s digital distribution and helping introduce Scar Chamber to a wider audience.
With ‘Ugly On The Inside‘, Scar Chamber makes an impressive first statement.
Combining seasoned musicianship, memorable songwriting and a modern hard rock attitude, the band arrives with the confidence of experienced veterans and the hunger of a brand-new act making this debut an exciting addition to the melodic hard rock landscape.
