‘Crossroads’
Alternative rock sensation Cardboard Planets, hailing from the heart of the USA, has just dropped their latest single ‘Crossroads’ a profound exploration of life’s myriad uncertainties and the quest to find one’s true path.
This release is now available on all major streaming platforms.
‘Crossroads’ is a raw and introspective offering that delves deep into the struggles of trying to navigate life when you’re uncertain about your desires and aspirations.
The single captures the essence of those pivotal moments when we stand at a crossroads, torn between choices and unsure of the right direction to take.
It’s a song that speaks to anyone who has grappled with the weight of indecision and the desire to find their own way.
The genesis of ‘Crossroads’ is rooted in personal experiences.
The lyrics and iconic guitar riff were crafted during a month-long return to Ohio in August 2021, where lead vocalist and guitarist Derek Allen was contemplating the prospect of attending law school while stuck in a seemingly dead-end job.
Working remotely, he found solace and inspiration within the walls of his childhood bedroom, where the foundation for much of Cardboard Planets’ album ‘En Route’ was laid.
Derek Allen and Chris Darroch, the dynamic duo behind Cardboard Planets, began their musical journey during their college days at American University in Washington D.C.
Their shared passion for music brought them together to form their first band No Opinion in 2018, which, after a year, went on hiatus.
Rising from the ashes of that experience, Cardboard Planets was born, and they haven’t looked back since.
Cardboard Planets’ previous release ‘Odd Times Like These’ gained significant traction, amassing over 23,000 streams and making waves on radio stations worldwide.
The band’s unique fusion of blues and punk-adjacent alternative rock set them apart, and their sophomore effort ‘En Route’ showcased their growth as artists, drawing inspiration from bands like Catfish and The Bottlemen and Foo Fighters.
With Derek Allen leading the charge on vocals and guitar, and Chris Darroch providing the rhythmic backbone on drums, percussion, and backing vocals (with occasional lead vocal duties), Cardboard Planets continues to captivate audiences with their authentic sound and compelling lyrics.
‘Crossroads’ is the latest testament to their evolving artistry and unwavering dedication to the craft.
