Formed as a Dillinger Escape Plan cover band, Ocean Asylum’s first original work ‘Committed‘ is influenced by the odd time signatures and songwriting of progressive metal and classic rock’s soaring vocals.
They meld the line between the two genres and stand out in the scene.
This four-track EP is mastered by Jamie King (Between the Buried and Me/The Contortionist) and demonstrates rhythmic intensity and precision.
Each song takes listeners through a dynamic soundscape with every strike, pluck, or breath poured into every measure.
Adam Warren (Oceano) also lends his beastly presence to the third track ‘Penance‘ delivering the quality gutturals we’ve all come to expect.

Ocean Asylum was initially formed in 2023 in Virginia Beach, VA as a fun Dillinger Escape Plan cover band featuring Wesley Trott on Guitars, Austin Hill on Bass, and Rob Moore on Drums.
They found themselves working originals into the set when vocalist Rickey Fowl was initiated into the group.
