Decibel Magazine:
“Located an hour and a half east of Calgary is the town of Drumheller, Alberta… Going into its 11th year, the Loud as Hell Festival is set to roll on… with the likes of Narcotic Wasteland, Jungle Rot and Incite headlining three days of metallic fun…”
CBC Calgary:
“Western Canada’s loudest heavy metal festival brings fans to town more known for dinos than drum solos.”
Blackfalds Life
“Loud as Hell, one of Canada’s top underground metal festivals, was a metal family reunion… If you’re a metalhead fan, mark it down for next year because this is a concert you don’t want to miss.”
history:

When it comes to extreme metal festivals in Canada, few events have built a reputation as formidable as Loud As Hell Open Air.
From July 31 to August 2, the festival returns to the breathtaking landscape of Drumheller, Alberta, for its fourteenth edition, once again transforming the famous Badlands into a gathering place for metal fans from across North America and beyond.
Surrounded by towering hoodoos, dramatic canyons and the world’s largest dinosaur fossil beds, Loud As Hell offers an experience unlike any other.
Hosted at the Dinosaurs Down Stampede grounds, the festival combines three days of relentless live music with camping, vendors, clinics, burlesque performances, freak shows and the unmistakable atmosphere that has made it one of Western Canada’s premier destinations for extreme music.
The 2026 edition features an impressive lineup that spans the full spectrum of modern extreme metal.
Progressive death metal innovators Fallujah headline the final night, bringing the technical brilliance and futuristic sound of their latest album, ‘Xenotaph‘.
Friday’s headliners, Allegaeon, continue to push melodic death metal forward with their trademark combination of virtuoso musicianship, soaring melodies and explosive live performances.
Headlining opening night, Summoning the Lich will unleash their fantasy inspired technical death metal, showcasing material from their acclaimed album ‘Under the Reviled Throne‘.
The supporting lineup is equally diverse and promises something for every extreme metal fan.
Black metal newcomers Gravemass will deliver their ritualistic and atmospheric assault, while Crimson Shadows return with their unmistakable fusion of melodic death metal and power metal heroics.
Starkill continues to refine its blend of melodic death metal and symphonic power metal, while Super Monster Party injects chaotic fun with its energetic mix of metal, punk and theatrical stage performances.
Another highlight comes from Mourning High, the 2025 winners of the Wacken Metal Battle USA, whose emotionally charged yet crushing sound has quickly earned international attention.
Rounding out the major attractions are Los Angeles based Edge of Paradise, whose cinematic combination of hard rock, metal and futuristic electronic elements brings a different but equally powerful dimension to this year’s lineup.
Since its inception in 2012, Loud As Hell Open Air has established itself as one of Canada’s essential extreme metal festivals.
Apart from a single interruption during the global pandemic, the event has consistently welcomed bands from across the world while supporting the Canadian underground.
Previous editions have featured artists such as Revocation, Beyond Creation, Archspire, Protest the Hero, AngelMaker, Goatwhore, Unleash The Archers, First Fragment, Fit for An Autopsy and many more, helping the festival build a loyal international following.
For metal fans seeking more than just a weekend of concerts, Loud As Hell delivers a complete experience.
Between the spectacular scenery of Alberta’s Badlands, the welcoming camping atmosphere and a lineup packed with both established names and rising talents, the festival continues to prove why it remains one of the most distinctive extreme metal events in North America.
From July 31 through August 2, Drumheller will once again become Canada’s loudest destination for uncompromising heavy music.
