There’s no denying it:
a fierce fighting spirit runs through Jet Jaguar’s veins.
The four-piece from Mexico have emerged as one of the most exciting metal newcomers of 2025 – surviving a dramatic line-up change, enduring the hardships of the lockdown years, and even overcoming a serious traffic accident during their 2024 tour with Anvil.
Each trial has only strengthened them.
Tougher, wiser, and more determined than ever, Jet Jaguar are now ready to prove with their second album ‘Severance‘ just how far passion and perseverance can take a band.
“Over the past five years, we’ve had to face a lot of setbacks, but we’ve continued to grow – as musicians, as composers, and as a band,”
says drummer and founding member Jimmy Lozano.
“Since our 2020 debut ‘Endless Nights’, we’ve risen to every challenge and come out stronger. You’ll hear some fresh compositional ideas this time, but our core remains: fast-paced songs, shredding guitars, technical precision, and a true-to-the-bone traditional metal spirit.”
A major force behind the band’s evolution is new vocalist Raiden Lozenthall, whose versatile range brings newfound depth and urgency to Jet Jaguar’s sound.
“Raiden’s voice is far more flexible than that of his predecessor,”
explains Lozano.
“He combines melodic clarity with death-metal growls, adding a wider emotional spectrum to our music. His powerful vocals – and the fact that he also plays guitar – let us perform dual solos live for the first time.”
Lozenthall’s influence is already clear on the album’s lead singles.
‘Eternal Light’ bursts out with blistering riffs, dazzling solos, and lyrics that reflect the band’s own struggles – yet radiate optimism.
“The song’s message is positive,”
says Lozano.
“It’s about finding the light and sharing it with others.”
With ‘Fool’s Paradise’, Jet Jaguar take on international politics – a first for the band.
Written by lead guitarist Ariyuki Saddler, the track blends sharp commentary with a groovy edge, expanding the Jet Jaguar universe.
“We’re all proud of how that one turned out,”
Lozano notes.
Then there’s ‘Mach 10’, a thunderous anthem driven by lightning-fast double bass drumming, released just weeks before the album.
“Pilots run in my family,”
Lozano reveals.
“That inspired me to write about aerial dogfights – where only the strongest and most skilled survive.”
A fitting metaphor for Jet Jaguar themselves.
Because if ‘Severance‘ proves anything, it’s that this band are built to endure – and destined to win countless (metal) battles ahead.
