Italian atmospheric and progressive rock project Isproject will release their second album, ‘What Remains of Us‘, on November 20th, 2026 through Inertial Music.
Created around the partnership of Ivan Santovito and Ilenia Salvemini, the album combines atmospheric rock, progressive structures and ambient elements within a broad cinematic setting.
Recorded over two years with the contribution of several session musicians, ‘What Remains of Us‘ was conceived as a journey through emotion and space and as a romantic reflection on human existence.
Rather than remaining within conventional progressive rock structures, the music moves between intimate passages and expansive arrangements, giving the record the scope and dramatic character of a rock opera.
At its centre are the voices of Salvemini and Santovito, with Santovito also responsible for the main compositions and piano throughout the album.
Ethereal atmospheres and evocative vocals are surrounded by a wider instrumental palette, allowing the music to move naturally between moments of intimacy and larger cinematic landscapes.
The first introduction to the album comes with ‘A Thousand Decades Without Me‘, released on September 18th together with an official video.
The song features renowned Dutch vocalist and former The Gathering front woman Anneke van Giersbergen, whose distinctive voice joins those of Isproject without shifting the focus away from the musical identity created by Santovito and Salvemini.
‘What Remains of Us‘ follows Isproject’s 2017 debut album, ‘The Archinauts‘, but represents a considerably expanded undertaking.
The years between the two records have allowed the project to further develop its mixture of atmospheric rock, progressive music and ambient soundscapes, with influences ranging from Anathema to Sigur Rós providing reference points for its combination of intimacy and scale.
With ‘What Remains of Us‘, Isproject look both outward and inward, using space and cinematic atmosphere as the surroundings for a deeply human record concerned with emotion and existence.
