Perris Records has officially announced the upcoming release of HELIX’s new full-length album ‘SCRAP METAL‘, arriving January 23, 2026 – a milestone marking the band’s 14th release with the label.
Before the album drops, fans will get a taste of what’s coming with two digital singles:
‘Stuck In The 80’s‘ arriving December 12, 2025, followed by ‘Fast & Furious‘ hitting digital platforms on December 19.
Fresh off the road supporting Nazareth on the Canadian leg of the legendary band’s farewell ‘Bending The Rules‘ tour, HELIX shows no signs of slowing down.
‘SCRAP METAL‘ features five previously unreleased tracks, all preserving the unmistakable ‘classic‘ HELIX sound of the 1980s, paired with five hand-picked favorites from across their back catalog, including cuts from ‘Old School‘, ‘Half-Alive‘, and ‘B-Sides‘.
The first single,
‘Stuck In The 80’s‘, features veteran guitarist Sean Kelly (Gilby Clarke, Coney Hatch, Lee Aaron), adding further firepower to the band’s unmistakable brand of rock.
In an era where many of their peers lean solely on nostalgia tours, HELIX continue to record, evolve, and deliver new music while staying fiercely loyal to the roots that made them icons.
Reflecting on how the album took shape, frontman Brian Vollmer explains:
“’SCRAP METAL’ started out as an afterthought and morphed into a full-fledged album. During the 80’s HELIX had written several very good songs that were never released. I decided to finish them and add a song I had written with Sean Kelly entitled ‘Stuck In The 80’s’, which ironically seemed to sum up the project. I chose Aaron Murray and HELIX bassist Daryl Gray to produce, as they had both worked on previous HELIX projects. With the involvement of Sean Kelly, guitarists Mark Chichkan, Christopher Julke, and former HELIX players Kaleb Duck and Brent ‘The Doctor’ Doerner, the songs took on a new life. As everything came together, we realized we had something very special. ‘Stuck In The 80’s’ indeed!’”
With old fire reignited and unreleased gems finally seeing daylight, ‘SCRAP METAL‘ positions HELIX not as a band trapped in time – but as one proving that some eras are simply too good to leave behind…
