Hailing from Kuopio, Finland, Funeral Home are a death metal band whose music brings together the raw foundations of old school death metal, the driving character of death and roll and darker melodic elements.
Their approach favours direct songwriting, uncomplicated structures and arrangements designed to keep the music moving rather than burying it beneath unnecessary complexity.
Formed in 2009, Funeral Home build their songs around the music first.
That philosophy gives the band a straightforward identity, with groove playing an important role alongside the heavier and gloomier aspects of their sound.
A strong introduction to Funeral Home comes through ‘You Failed My Trust‘, released on October 23rd, 2025 as the first single from their debut album, ‘Your Funeral‘.
Driven by a pounding rhythm and prominent groove, the song deals with broken trust and the strength that can emerge from experiencing it.
According to the band, the feeling behind the song is intended to be both crushing and relatable, turning betrayal into something that ultimately creates its own form of power.
‘You Failed My Trust‘ was composed by Henri Ojala, with lyrics written by Janne Partanen.
The single opened the way for ‘Your Funeral‘, the band’s first full length album, released through Inverse Records in January 2026.
Its artwork was created by Henna Pulkkinen.
With their combination of death metal weight, old school influences, gloomy melody and an emphasis on groove, Funeral Home keep their approach deliberately direct, introducing themselves as a Finnish death metal band more interested in the impact of the song than unnecessary complication.­
