EIGHTS AND FOURS

discography:

Eights and Fours is the instrumental metal project of Marine Corps veteran Sean Rooney.
For Sean, music has been his way of dealing with the trauma he received while serving in the Iraq War.
Rooney draws from his experience both in war and the life afterward to produce a debut album entitled ‘The Liminal Spaces‘, which was released on May 30th, 2025.
Eights and Fours’ debut single, ‘Stag on the Cliff‘, is a deeply personal tribute to Sean’s late father – a soaring, cinematic guitar piece shaped by grief, survival, and the long arc of healing.
The artwork of a stag is also of great importance, as Sean’s father’s ashes rest inside a large stag statue overlooking the Hudson river.
The single has already received coverage from Stereo Stickman, as well as The Bandcamp Diaries, who stated:
”Although it is an instrumental, it does tell a powerful story, conveying emotion, even without the need of lyrics in a traditional sense.”
