Metal Injection:
“Long time readers will know by now that I am partial to the weirder side of heavy music. Dirty Shirt certainly has my attention this week. They’re like a mix of 6:33, Russkaja, and Turisas. This is bombastic, fun metal with Romanian folk mixed in.”
Uber Rock:
“‘Get Your Dose Now!’ is definitely not your average metal album… Dirty Shirt is the real deal with extraordinarily talented musicians and a uniqueness that sets them apart from the crowd.”
Metal Temple:
“DIRTY SHIRT only sound like DIRTY SHIRT.”

Thirty years after their unlikely beginnings as a wedding band in north-western Romania, Dirty Shirt have grown into one of Eastern Europe’s most original and internationally acclaimed metal acts.
To celebrate that remarkable journey, the band have released ‘Dirty Thirty (The Best Of)‘, a 30-track retrospective that looks back on three decades of musical evolution while also pointing confidently toward the future.
Far more than a simple greatest-hits collection, ‘Dirty Thirty (The Best Of)‘ tells the story of a band that has continuously reinvented itself without ever losing its identity.
The compilation spans every era of Dirty Shirt’s career, from their earliest recordings through albums such as ‘Same Shirt Different Day‘, ‘Freak Show‘, ‘Dirtylicious‘, ‘Letchology‘, and ‘Get Your Dose Now‘, while also including the recent singles ‘FOMO‘ and ‘Büntető‘, offering a glimpse of the band’s forthcoming studio album.
Several classic tracks have been newly remastered by longtime sound engineer Adrian ‘Bila‘ Urițescu, while the striking cover artwork once again comes from renowned artist Costin Chioreanu, extending a creative partnership that has lasted for more than thirteen years.
The project itself was partially funded through a successful crowdfunding campaign, reflecting the strong bond between the band and its loyal fanbase.
Keyboardist and guitarist Mihai Tivadar sees the anniversary release as a tribute to everyone who has been part of Dirty Shirt’s journey:
“Dirty Shirt became much more than a band. It became a family. Today, we are nine official band members, but the Dirty Shirt family is much larger… This album is a celebration of all of them. Thank you for being part of these thirty years.”
Earlier this year, the band also unveiled ‘Büntető‘, the second single from their upcoming studio album.
A powerful reinterpretation of a traditional Hungarian folk song originally performed by Besh o droM, the track perfectly illustrates Dirty Shirt’s unmistakable musical approach.
Combining the raw power of metal with traditional Eastern European instrumentation, the high-energy recording features sixteen musicians and blends modern heaviness with authentic folk melodies.
Following the success of ‘FOMO‘, it further demonstrates the band’s continued willingness to experiment while remaining true to its roots.
Over the past three decades, Dirty Shirt have established themselves as pioneers of what they describe as Romanian crossover folkcore metal.
Their unique sound seamlessly merges metal, hardcore, industrial, funk, world music, and traditional Eastern European folk, creating an energetic and instantly recognizable style that has won fans far beyond their homeland.
Their international breakthrough came after finishing second at the Wacken Metal Battle World Final in 2014, opening the door to performances at major festivals including Hellfest, Wacken Open Air, Pol’and’Rock, Reload Festival, Dong Open Air, and Electric Castle.
With more than 1,000 concerts across 17 countries, Dirty Shirt have also shared stages with renowned acts such as Megadeth, Godsmack, Gogol Bordello, Skindred, and Orphaned Land.
As their ongoing 30th Anniversary Tour continues across Europe, ‘Dirty Thirty (The Best Of)‘ serves as both a celebration of an extraordinary career and a reminder that Dirty Shirt remain as creative, energetic, and unpredictable as ever.
For longtime fans, it is a comprehensive look back at thirty years of innovation.
For newcomers, it provides the perfect introduction to one of the most distinctive bands on today’s European metal scene.
