“Deuxes’ individual styles merge together seamlessly.”
Deuxes are a soul/indie duo of multi-instrumentalist sisters from North West London.
The pair are described as having a sound of their own, featuring a mixture of bold basslines and soulful harmonies with influences from motown to modern rock.
The band has just released their highly anticipated new EP ‘Loud’ this month.
“This project is all about expressing ourselves at an unapologetic volume. These are the stories that have resonated most loudly throughout our lives. We Are bold, we are strong, we are loud!!”
‘Loud’ breaks musical boundaries with an eclectic mix of Blues, Soul, Ska and Rock.
Deuxes have been supported by BBC Radio 6, BBC London, Amazing Radio and a plethora of ILRS.
Deuxes cite the sound of motown, rock and soul as strong influences within their music alongside the likes Muse, Kings of Leon and noughties bands such as Destiny’s Child, SWV and Eternal.
Often referred to as ‘gems of the underground music scene’, Deuxes have played live all over including Icebreaker Festival 2019 and 2022, Cro-Cro Land 2019 as well as Sofar Sounds in NYC.
Following their 2020 debut single ‘Genesis’, the world went into lockdown, but since then Deuxes have been back on the road building momentum;
playing at Tramlines 2021 and being named the UK winners of the European Emerging Bands contest allowing the band to play at the EYE 2021 festival in Strasbourg France and represent emerging UK artists during discussions at the European parliament.
The duo were also named winners of the Fender player plus studio session programme in November 2021 in which Deuxes recorded part of their EP ‘LOUD’ at world renowned RAK studios in London.
Their second single ‘Ripping at the Seams’ which was recorded by Isabel Gracefield at RAK, was released in August 2022 and showcased the soul sisters’ inspiration and influence of funk, including a soul train themed music video.
The pair have continued to build up momentum and take the scene by storm by performing at Truck Festival, Icebreaker Festival, Loud Women Fest, The Hope and Ruin Brighton, and London’s new The Lower Third in Soho amongst other grassroots venues over the UK in 2022.
