Born from the vibrant blues scene in Stockholm’s Old Town, Blue Benders took shape after countless late-night jam sessions at iconic haunts like Stampen and S:ta Clara.
The band officially formed in May 2021, but its roots go back further, to when guitarists Edvin and Morris first began exploring the city’s bustling live circuit.
When their friend Samson stepped in on vocals, the trio quickly discovered a shared spark.
The lineup solidified with drummer Oskar and bassist Johan, whose arrival completed a musical chemistry where every player brought a distinct and vital flavor.
What emerged was a sound far bigger than its blues foundations.
Driven by curiosity and a refusal to stay within traditional boundaries, Blue Benders crafted a kaleidoscopic blend of blues, rock, soul, and funk – constantly evolving, always surprising, and unmistakably their own.
Their momentum was undeniable.
The band collected major accolades early on, earning Rookie of the Year (2022) and sweeping the Bluespodden Awards twice in a row.
In 2023 they took home Band of the Year, Album of the Year, and Live Act of the Year; the following year they clinched both Band of the Year and Live Act of the Year once again.
2024 also saw the group take second place among 21 contenders at the international European Blues Challenge, cementing their reputation well beyond Sweden’s borders.
Riding this wave, the Blue Benders hit the studio and released their debut EP ‘Strike One‘ in the fall of 2023.
A sold-out release show at Stockholm’s legendary Nalen marked a defining moment – proof that the band’s rise was no accident.
The year 2024 became a whirlwind of high-octane performances, including standout sets at Stockholm Pride, U-Port Festival, and a headline night at Debaser.
By late November, they were back in the studio, recording their first full-length album – an ambitious milestone that signaled their next big leap.
In 2025, Blue Benders kept pushing forward with relentless touring and an increasingly devoted following.
Their energetic mix of groove, grit, and soul continued to win over new listeners across the map.
November 2025 brought another highlight:
the release of their second EP, ‘No Time To Be Weary‘, a title that fittingly sums up a band showing no signs of slowing down.
