The Dutch concept-driven death/thrash force Black Rabbit returns from the depths with a new chapter of darkness.
Their upcoming EP, ‘Warren of Necrosis‘, arrives December 10, 2025, marking their most ambitious and cinematic release to date.
As a foretaste of the chaos to come, the band has unveiled the single ‘Initium Finis‘ – a twisted retelling of Genesis where creation is born from shadow, not divinity.
Here, light deceives, innocence rots, and the world takes form through corruption rather than grace.
It’s the beginning of the end – and the beginning of Black Rabbit’s next evolution.
At the core of the band’s mythology lies the legend of the Black Rabbit – a once-devout priest whose thirst for divine power led him into blasphemy and ruin.
What began as pious ritual soon descended into obsession, human sacrifice, and exile.
In his solitude, he encountered a spectral entity – a presence between worlds – who granted him dominion over time, but at a terrible cost:
his humanity.
Transformed into a demonic being, the Black Rabbit became a perverse echo of fertility – a symbol of life turned toward decay.
From the ashes of his faith, he wrote his own doctrine:
a blasphemous scripture of despair and corruption.
His disciples built the Warren of Necrosis, a subterranean empire of rot and devotion.
Deep within, beneath a withered tree adorned with the condemned, the Black Rabbit wields his colossal hammer of judgment upon the unworthy.
Musically, ‘Warren of Necrosis‘ pushes Black Rabbit further into conceptual and sonic depth.
The EP expands their brutal death/thrash foundations with haunting melodies, ancient textures, and ethnic instrumentation that give each track an eerie, ritualistic edge.
Every song embodies a stage of corruption, a sacrifice, or a whisper from the entity that shaped the priest’s downfall – until nothing human remains.
But Black Rabbit’s vision extends beyond sound.
Each release forms part of a wider artistic universe – with handcrafted artwork, immersive stage design, and storytelling that brings their mythos to life.
On stage, the band become living vessels of the legend:
cloaked, masked, and surrounded by relics of their creation.
Their shows aren’t mere performances – they’re sermons, summoning the spirit of their cursed creation.
With ‘Warren of Necrosis‘, Black Rabbit doesn’t just release an EP – they open a portal.
It’s a descent into faith, corruption, and transcendence, a world that breathes, mutates, and consumes.
Enter the Warren… if you dare.

The band expands their sinister story further with ‘Chronolysis’, a sensory nightmare that takes the listener into the oppressive world of sleep paralysis, trapped under the manipulative grip of Black Rabbit.
Black Rabbit is a concept-driven death/thrash metal band from Apeldoorn that seamlessly interweaves brute force and aggression with profound themes and a compelling visual presentation.
The band consists of five musical forces with diverse influences, who together create a dynamic, ruthless but refined sound.
With energetic live shows full of theatrical visuals and an intense light spectacle, Black Rabbit takes their audience into a narrative world of darkness and mystery.
Black Rabbit left a lasting impression with the release of their EP and single (2020), which laid the foundation for the story of Black Rabbit.
This took further shape with the first chapter of its legend:
the full-length album ‘Hypnosomnia’ (2023), an album that took the band to new heights with performances in renowned venues such as Patronaat, Iduna and even the Brabanthallen.
Sharing the stage with the likes of Baest, Vader, Exhorder and Pestilence, they have established themselves as a band that takes energy, craftsmanship and experience to a new level.
At the heart of the band lives the mythical story of Black Rabbit, a demonic entity with a tragic past.
He seduces and deceives his victims, confronting them with their deepest sins and feeding on their despair.
Black Rabbit manipulates dreams (‘Hypnosomnia‘) and traps his victims in the suffocating grip of sleep paralysis (‘Chronolysis‘), from which there is no escape.
Black Rabbit’s music forms a ritual in which each song is a chapter in his growing legend.
‘Hypnosomnia’ explored the boundary between dream and reality, while the latest EP, ‘Chronolysis’, digs deeper into the horror of sleep paralysis.
Black Rabbit is more than a metal band – it’s a total experience.
With a crushing sound, well-thought-out concepts and theatrical live shows, they immerse their audience in a world where music, visuals and stories become one.
Their performances are rituals, in which the audience is not just a spectator, but becomes part of the story.
With ‘Chronolysis‘, the five gentlemen are setting a new, intense chapter.
Their music is dynamic and raw, their shows are hypnotic and uncomfortable.
Black Rabbit leaves a feeling of fascination and discomfort.
The EP ‘Chronolysis‘ has been released via the band itself and is therefore an Independent Release.
