Vancouver Sun:
“It’s one of the premier festivals of its kind in Canada, showcasing the biggest names in local, national, and international heavy metal music.”
CHBC – Global TV Okanagan:
“Metalheads celebrate a decade of gathering in Armstrong… The 10th annual Armstrong Metal Fest is coming to the Okanagan this weekend. About 600 heavy metal music fans will be traveling from across North America to listen to local and international death, thrash and black metal bands…. The 10-year anniversary is special for the organizers, as this is the first year they are providing a scholarship to an Armstrong high school music student.”
Beatroute BC:
“To witness such a gathering of talent is an absolute privilege, and for that fact alone, I will certainly be returning to Armstrong Metal Fest.”
Armstrong MetalFest will return to British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley on July 16th and 17th, 2027, bringing two more days of heavy music, camping and metal mayhem to Hassen Arena in Armstrong, BC.
Following a highly successful 2026 edition, Armstrong MetalFest is preparing for another major summer gathering of the Canadian metal community.
Last year’s festival featured Rivers of Nihil and Dying Fetus as coheadliners alongside Cyborg Octopus, Into Eternity, Fervence, Vintersea, Lycanthro, Iron Kingdom, Odinfist, Art of Attrition and many more.
The 2027 lineup has yet to be revealed, but bands hoping to become part of it will soon have their opportunity.
Armstrong MetalFest will accept submissions from October 1st through October 15th, giving artists a two week window to apply for a place at next summer’s festival.
The event has grown considerably since its beginnings in 2009, developing from a regional metal gathering into a destination for fans travelling from across Canada and the United States.
Over the years its stages have welcomed acts including Kataklysm, Cattle Decapitation, Archspire, Nekrogoblikon, Origin, Warbringer, Fallujah, Striker, Beyond Creation, Born of Osiris, Havok and The Browning, while continuing to provide opportunities for emerging Canadian and international bands.
An important part of Armstrong MetalFest remains the atmosphere surrounding the music itself.
Fans descend on the Okanagan Valley for camping, live performances, wrestling, scavenger hunts and the sense of community that has become closely associated with the festival.
That atmosphere was particularly evident during the 2026 edition, which attracted the largest crowds in Armstrong MetalFest history.
The festival is organized by West Metal Entertainment, a nonprofit society that also supports the regional music scene through concerts and events, including shows open to audiences of all ages.
Ticket information for Armstrong MetalFest 2027 will be announced at a later date.
Free camping will once again be included with festival admission, while separate passes will be required for vehicles entering the camping area and for recreational vehicle spaces.
With sixteen years of extreme music behind it, Armstrong MetalFest will once again transform the normally quiet surroundings of Armstrong into Canada’s colossal mountain mosh pit when the festival returns on July 16th and 17th, 2027.
