2025 is a milestone year:
Reject The Sickness celebrates 15 years of pure power and unfiltered expression.
And to mark this milestone, they released their latest album ‘Signs of the End’.
An album in which they push their boundaries, further sharpen their style and delve deeper into the human psyche.
Two years of writing, rewriting, experimenting, and fine-tuning culminate in an album that fully embodies their identity.
The album was recorded in Ghent by Guy Vercruysse and Zoran Van Bellegem at the Clean and Dirty Studio and was mixed in Sweden by Christian Svedin, while mastering magic was done by ‘Plec‘ at The Panic Room in Sweden.
Six of the eight tracks dive deep into the human psyche, exploring the torment of growing up in an environment tainted by neglect.
The lyrics unravel the fear and seething hatred of the abandoned, exposing how these emotions ignite an insatiable thirst for revenge.
But revenge in the adult world is elusive, leaving its seekers ensnared in their own tortured thoughts.
Guy, the vocalist also carries forward his unwavering commitment to animal rights – a cause deeply embedded in his ethos.
Just like on their previous album, Guy raise awareness for respect toward all living beings.
The lyrics, penned by Els Van Campenhout (Animal Rights, BE) and Guy Vercruysse, paint a visceral and haunting picture:
the final moments of pigs before they are led to slaughter – an emotional reckoning that forces reflection.
Before the full album droped, Reject The Sickness had already unleashed three singles, ‘The Messenger‘, ‘Acta Non Verba‘ and ‘Signs Of The End‘ – each accompanied by a gripping music video directed by A. van der Wallen.
With his signature cinematic style, he brings the band’s vision to life, capturing their raw intensity and emotional depth on screen.
These videos expand on the album’s core themes, delivering striking imagery and storytelling that complement the relentless energy of the music.
The album’s final track, ‘Signs Of The End‘, is a call to enlightenment, an anthem for liberation from dogma and the eradication of terrorism in all its forms.
The accompanying music video weaves a chilling visual tapestry – featuring two faceless souls bound in linen wraps, marked with cryptic text from the unique alphabet of Stanisław Szukalski.
The imagery echoes the struggle to break free from oppressive belief systems, a battle waged within and beyond.
This single is not just a song; it’s a declaration of who they are and what they stand for.
The Messenger!‘ was the second single from this album.
This single is a powerful song about overcoming childhood trauma, neglect, and abuse.
It delves into fighting inner demons and finding ways to cope.
“This track, the second single from our upcoming full album releasing on May 30th, is a testament to resilience.”
The first single was ‘Acta Non Verba‘.
The clip of this song tells the story of two girls whose fates are bound together in a world of neglect and harmful home situations.
Only by standing together do they find a way to survive the madness of an abusive and neglectful home.
Musically, the band continues to evolve:
even more rhythmic, even more atmospheric, even more catchy.
Harder, rawer, and uncompromisingly melodic.
Even the mysterious realm of atmospheric black metal is explored in a few songs.
This is Reject The Sickness in their purest form.
Uncompromising – Unrelenting – Unforgettable…
The journey began in 2008 when Guy Vercruysse and Ruben Van der Beken united in their quest to form a band.
By 2010, with a full lineup, they released their first demo, ‘Slack Muscles Heal‘.
In 2013, they dropped their debut mini-CD, ‘Bloodstained Eyes‘, digitally via Clean and Dirty and physically through Deathwake Recordings, later re-released in 2015 by Headshot Records.
That same year, the dynamic drumming of Jannick Govaert became a permanent fixture.
Their debut full-length album, ‘Chains of Solitude‘, released in 2015 under the Danish metal label Mighty Music, catapulted the band onto stages at prestigious events like Graspop Metal Meeting, expanding their fanbase across the UK and beyond.
The band’s sophomore album, 2018’s ‘The Weight of Silence‘, also under Mighty Music, delivered a fresh and raw melodic sound, earning them a coveted spot at the Slovenian Metaldays festival.
Following lineup changes with the introduction of lead guitarist Zoran Van Bellegem and bassist Jonas Messiaen, Reject The Sickness entered a new era of darker and fiercer tunes.
This evolution was showcased in their 2019 EP, ‘The New Chapter‘.
Despite a busy schedule of festivals and gigs, they continued to craft their next full-length masterpiece.
While Our World Dissolves‘, aptly named, was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and finally released in 2021.
This album marked a significant stylistic evolution, showcasing their rawest and most intriguing sound yet.
They toured Europe twice, including a wild ride with death metal legends Vader under the stewardship of Massive Music.
In 2023, they joined the Monsters of Death tour alongside Monstrosity and Origin.
Their song ‘Burning Soil‘ became a fan favorite.
In 2025, they take a bold step towards complete label independence – a conscious decision, because they believe they can do it better themselves now.
After 15 years, the band can confidently say:
“Reject The Sickness is its own brand. Every note, every beat, and every riff has been meticulously captured in their own studio, ensuring absolute creative control.”

Their music is more than just sound – it’s a journey through the dark realities of marginalized youth.
They explore themes of abuse, neglect, and self-harm, bringing these raw emotions to life in their lyrics.
Singer Guy, a social worker in addition to being a frontman, weaves his observations and insights into the lyrics, giving them an extra layer of intensity and authenticity.
“Reject The Sickness has made a bold decision—We will release ‘Signs Of The End’ independently. We realized that none of the offers we received could match our vision. Rather than funneling our resources into an overpriced label or settling for a Bandcamp-driven one, we chose to invest everything into our own promotion. We have faith in ourselves and, with the unwavering support of our fans, we’re ready to forge our own path! We’re beyond excited, because we trust in the powerful creation we’ve crafted for you! This isn’t just the start of something new—it’s the foundation of something stronger, something that will endure forever. Don’t reject the sickness.”
