Swedish doomsters Left Hand Solution finally shared their original demos as ‘Wounds Of Bitterness’ – worldwide on all digital platforms.
The tracks are also available as bonus tracks on the vinyl edition of ‘Fevered – 25 Anniversary Edition’.
Erik Barthold (LHS):
“The three songs on ‘The Wounds of Bitterness’ demo were recorded between our first and second album. Initially, it wasn’t intended to be released. I mean, who releases a demo after their first album? But since these recordings showed a new direction in the sound of Left Hand Solution, we decided to release it anyway as a cassette tape. This was back in 1995 and it’s the first recording with Mariana Frykman on lead vocals. It was recorded in a garage rebuilt into a very small and cheap recording studio. These versions of the songs have a more raw and distorted sound compared to the later versions that appeared on the album ‘Fevered’. It shows the transition of a band and is the missing link between the first two albums. Enjoy!”

25 years ago, Left Hand Solution’s second album, ‘Fevered’, to celebrate this release, the original tapes were remastered and compiled on a double LP, including one bonus track recorded for the album but only available on a long-ago sold-out compilation and three demo versions of album tracks from the cassette ‘The Wounds of Bitterness’.
In total, one hour and ten minutes of brilliant doom metal.

Left Hand Solution share a doomy, dark, and nostalgic video moment with their new video for the song ‘Worn Away’ which has been released for the first time digitally.
‘Worn Away’ was recorded and produced by Thomas Hedqvist at Kitchen Studio in Grönborg, Sundsvall, in June 1996, but has never been released digitally before.
To celebrate the release of the 25-year edition of the album ‘Fevered’ – including this track, Joakim Mårdstam compiled this deeply nostalgic video from old VHS tapes filmed during the original recordings album ‘Fevered’.
25 years ago, Left Hand Solution’s second album ‘Fevered’ got an international release through Nuclear Blast.
Despite Doom metal, was not at its peak and female-fronted Metal still being seen as a curiosity, it sold an impressive 10000 copies and lifted the band from the tape trading scene to the larger stages.

Left Hand Solution just released their first single ‘First Day Of Winter’ on the actual first day of winter and winter solstice:
on the 21st of December 2020.
The first out ‘First Day Of Winter’ is taken off the upcoming album to be released in 2021.
Drummer and songwriter Erik Barthold about the song:
”I remember starting to write the song ‘First Day Of Winter’ as the first snow fell in the year of 2002. Little did I imagine that it would take another 18 years for it to be fully completed! The song was finished this summer in a hot recording studio, but of course, we had to wait until the winter solstice for this release. Sorry, that we’ve kept you waiting, but here it finally is in its full winter dress.”
What made Left Hand Solution always special was their combination of hard riffs, dark melodies, and Mariana Frykman’s dark and beautiful voice.
Being one of the early metal band with a female vocalist their influence has been largely overlooked and their cult following has grown quite a lot lately.
And now, it’s time for a new album and a new development for the band.
The new Album ‘Dead of Winter’ is scheduled for April 16th, 2021.
Left Hand Solution formed in 1991, released 3 albums and toured Europe, US and Canada, and made a large impression with their unique take on Doom metal for more than 10 years.
Then the band just faded away.
Until 2019, when they suddenly released – the in secrecy recorded album – ‘Through The Mourning Woods’.
An updated version of Left Hand Solution’s sweet nightmare that combined sounds from their early doom days and goth elements of their later days and put it all in a new context.
The band has been resurrected for very successful local gigs several times during the last years, but it was not until Erik and original guitarist Joakim became neighbors that things starting to really happen.
Suddenly they found themselves writing songs in Erik’s basement and soon Peter and Mariana happily joined in.
