Few live albums have ever captured spectacle, danger, and unapologetic heavy-metal theater quite like ‘The Murderess Metal Road Show‘ by Lizzy Borden.
Recorded at the height of the band’s ascent from the Sunset Strip, the album freezes a moment in time when American metal was louder, bloodier, and more theatrical than ever.
Blades flashed, crowds roared, and the band delivered a performance that felt less like a gig and more like a full-scale shock-rock production unleashed in real time.
Now, Brutal Planet Records resurrects that chaos with a fully remastered 2-LP vinyl edition, mastered specifically for wax by Rob Colwell (Helstar, Voivod, Starwood) to maximize impact.
Housed in a deluxe gatefold and pressed across three striking collector variants, the reissue restores the raw aggression and atmosphere of that December night in 1985 with renewed punch and clarity.
Pre-orders began on February 5, with the official release set for May 29, 2026.
Originally recorded live at Chuck Landis’ Country Club in Reseda, California, on Friday, December 13, 1985, and officially licensed from Metal Blade Records (1986), the album captures Lizzy Borden before the mythology fully hardened – already commanding the stage with theatrical violence, razor-sharp musicianship, and an undeniable connection to the crowd.
From the explosive opening moments through to the patriotic punch of ‘American Metal‘, this is a band carving its legacy in front of a live audience.
The set includes all 17 original tracks, among them a fierce take on ‘Live and Let Die‘ – years before Guns N’ Roses made it a staple of their own – and ‘(Wake Up) Time to Die‘, inspired by the sci-fi classic Blade Runner.
(Tracks 16 and 17 are studio recordings.)
More than a concert document, ‘The Murderess Metal Road Show‘ plays like a declaration of intent – equal parts concert, horror show, and battle cry.
And this new pressing leans fully into that legacy.
Leading the charge is the Boone’s Overstock Webstore Exclusive Premium Variant:
red & blue vinyl limited to just 200 copies worldwide.
It includes an exclusive 8.5×11 printed set list insert featuring a printed Lizzy autograph, making it the definitive collector’s piece for die-hard fans.
This edition forms part of Brutal Planet’s Metal Icon Series and marks the first time the album has ever been reissued on vinyl.
Two additional limited variants – each capped at 400 copies – round out the release.
The Blood Moon Swirl pressing mirrors the record’s feral intensity in visual form, delivering the full live experience in a deluxe gatefold presentation.
Meanwhile, the Metallic Gold vinyl edition salutes Lizzy Borden’s enduring place in American metal history, offering a bold, classic look for collectors who want their records loud, proud, and permanently etched into the shelf.
This isn’t simply a reissue.
It’s a resurrection.
Three variants.
One legendary performance.
No second pressing.
When the lights go down and the needle drops, ‘The Murderess Metal Road Show’ takes the stage again – louder, heavier, and deadlier than ever.
