After making their apperance in the Spanish scene with ‘Pathos‘, a second album that took them to several festivals including Resurrection Fest, Litost felt the need to give another chance to ‘Ethos‘, their debut album, which had been self-released with limited resources.
‘Ethos‘ now takes on its fullest form with new drums recorded by Luis Varo at BackStage Studio, and with the rest of the recordings of instruments, vocals and samples made by guitarist and singer Manri.
As on ‘Pathos‘, the mixing and mastering are once again in the masterful hands of Javi Félez, and the same goes for the cover and artwork by Pablo Ruiz Valls.
These eight tracks impress as much now as they should have done in 2019, and since October the 18th everybody is able to hear that ‘Ethos‘ has finally gotten his due.
An album that
“with its rawness transits in suffering, sadness and anger, evolving towards self-knowledge and psychological improvement,”
explains the band.
“With a lot of character and self-confidence”,
they continue,
“giving veracity to his situation with his experiences and his condition with black death, crust, and very hidden styles outside of metal such as flamenco.”
If Litost is a term coined by Milan Kundera, the band is still focused on philosophy, as their first three albums, ‘Ethos‘, ‘Pathos‘ and ‘Logos‘, which is still to come, will form a trilogy inspired by the three means of persuasion explained in Aristotle’s Rhetoric.
Thus, Litost
“want to focus on the social aspect of the human condition, exploring how these three perspectives influence confrontation, argumentation, and even the expression of feelings.”
And all of this by going over our heads with their music, of course…
