The band is back with ‘Divide And Konquer‘, a 5 track EP that brings the old BreaKdowN BKN aggressivity but matured and with a high-quality production.
For the moment it is a digital release, a potential Vinyl/CD is being dicussed with some labels.
The EP cover was made by Alcides Burn, while the concept was created by BreaKdowN.

The Single Cover was made by Paulo Kalvo.
Leo:
“Paulo is a fantastic artist from Brazil, we have a few discussions, and the ideas were put together at a good speed, the cover capture the essence needed, and also links us with our past, as you can see a piece of ‘Time to Kill’ (our first album)…the cover is so good we could be used for an album…but we could not hold it anymore!”
Recording took place in November 2023, the band travelled to the studio and spent little over a week to capture all the sounds and make the adjustments required.
This material was recorded and produced at the Stage One studio in Bühne-Germany with the experienced Andy Classen (responsible for albums of Holy Moses, Krisiun, Tankard, Violator, Legion of the Damned, Sinister etc…)
Leo and Tati worked directly at the Stage One Studio to lay down all the musical violence under guidance of Andy.
Leo:
“After many years without recording, we had a great-hard-working time at the studio with Andy, and we are satisfied with the way he captured our sound, and we clearly have learned a lot. It is heavy, is loud, is melodic…and could not be more satisfied!! We are very happy with the results; besides it is satisfying to work with such a producer, of course we are also fans… “
The EP was recorded using actual instruments, amplifiers and real drums, aiming to give the audience raw, aggressive and a real feeling of the band.
For extra sounds BreaKdowN got help from Euge Valovirta in Switzerland, where a great collection of old amps was available.
Drums were recorded in Sao Paulo – Brazil by Edu, at the legendary @bayareastudios, with the engineer Diego Rocha, under guidance of Andy Classen.
Mixing took place in July, as the band travelled back to Stage One and spent some days with Andy to get to the final results!

Born from the streets of Sao Paulo-Brazil, later relocated to Ireland, and today based in Germany, Location is just a detail at this stage.
BreaKdowN blasted on to the scene in 1998 playing every kind of show imaginable.
They quickly found themselves embraced by every facet of the insanely diverse local music scene from punk to tech death.
After recording their titled ‘Disgrace‘, a 3-song demo, and a live tape called ‘Live After Thrash‘, the label Unsilent Records saw live and decided to release the first BreaKdowN full length, ‘Time To Kill‘. released in 2007.
These 8 tracks have caught the attention in the global underground scene over the following years BreaKdowN appeared in compilations and magazines in Brazil, USA, Europe and all over the planet and shared the stage with many important bands.
‘Divide and Konquer‘, the new EP, once again delivers an uncompromising extreme Metal with a blend of melody, sounding broadly defined like a bastard of DEATH, SEPULTURA, KREATOR and NWBHM with the factor X that makes BreaKdowN what it is.
After years of silence the band joined forces with Andy Classen in Stage One Studio to deliver four tracks of pure energy and uncompromising metal that will please Death Metal, Thrash and Heavy Metal fans in the same vein.
The production is heavy, old school and intense, the music is uncompromising.
