Another release for the Azorean (Portugal) metal scene, with the imprint of the Museu Heavy Metal Açoriano (MHMA), the long-awaited ‘Azores & Metal Vol. #4‘.
Thus, ‘Azores & Metal Vol. #4‘, which brings together songs created in 2023/2024, affirming the work and creativity of island musicians, appears for the first time on vinyl.
An historic release, in the iconic and renowned format (LP vinyl), thus elevating the listening experience of great music lovers and collectors.
It is, therefore, a great honor and pride for MHMA to release the first and only vinyl LP to date, which records heavy metal produced in the Azores region.
In this edition, the Museu Heavy Metal Açoriano (MHMA), once again, brings together the best in metal production from the nine islands, presenting new and recent tracks from bands such as Rheuma, Profeta Morbus and Carnification.
Furthermore, names already known to the public, such as Damage Device, Mournolith Abyss and Dust Project, Finding Sanity, Crossfaith, The Absolute End and In Peccatum bring new themes to this very special edition.
MHMA highlights Aemaerth, which is a project created by an Azorean from the island of Terceira, residing in Colombia, something similar to the well-known M1ke, residing in Spain and which, once again, is part of the lineup of this compilation and, finally, Kevin Douglas, a Brazilian resident in São Miguel (Azores).
As always, with a very rich and diverse batch, both in quantity and diversity, which guarantees to make this album important and worth taking into account in the private collection of a good admirer and collector of national heavy metal.
‘Azores & Metal Vol. #4‘ is not just a collection.
It is a manifesto of the musical identity of the Azorean underground and an incentive, given the scarcity of opportunities, for new bands to emerge and develop.
By physically recording the work of these bands, the project ensures that Azorean music transcends the ephemerality of digital platforms.
With this release, the Azores join a select group of regions that have vinyl records of their metal scene.
It is an historic feat that demonstrates the growth and professionalization of underground metal on the islands.
This project was only possible thanks to the tireless work of Luís Sousa and Hugin Medeiros, responsible, respectively, for the graphic design and mastering of the album.
