British indie artist
HANNAH LOU CLARK
has released single
‘Jenny’

HLC is a Cambridgeshire based singer/songwriter & musician known for her own introspective indie rock, as well as alternative, pop project FOE.
Her dark and poetic lyrics married with gritty distorted guitars create a luring invitation into her mysterious world.
Growing up exposed to her dad’s vast record collection, Hannah drew inspiration from artists like PJ Harvey, Neil Young & Nirvana, plus bands from her local scene like British legends Reuben.
Her first three Eps were championed by the likes of NME, Clash Magazine & more, with early radio support from Steve Lamacq, Chris Hawkins and Tom Robinson.
Guy Garvey also made ‘Silent Type’ his record of the week on 6 Music.
Ten years since her first release, Hannah is back with a full-length album released fully independently.
It consists of twelve tracks which were written over a decade, and journeys through the course of significant life events throughout this time.
Tracks like ‘Jenny’ and ‘Biggest Complaint’ are pop-driven guitar anthems which explore themes of identity loss & paranoia, while ‘Unborn Lullaby’ (co written with Ed Harcourt) is like an internal love letter to a future child.
The album was recorded and mixed by Philip Van Den Brandeler in his quirky 16th century home studio in Guildford.
It features many of Hannah’s dear friends as guest musicians, including her husband Gavin ‘Mo‘ Edgeley (Lonely the Brave) on drums for ’25 Scalps’ and ‘How To Unlearn Yourself’.
Having previously toured with Thurston Moore, Gaz Coombes & Lonely the Brave, Hannah will play a special stripped back show at The Portland Arms in Cambridge on 11.04.25 to celebrate her album release.
She plans to work on an EP next, which will be her first musical output since becoming a mum.
