Finnish Punkroll band UGLY PUNCH released their self-titled debut EP on February 22nd 2024 via Secret Entertainment.
The band comments:
“Now here’s the first dose of honest UGLY PUNCH grooving. So the title EP, with its 6th song, is an adventure in a personal punkroll atmosphere. The songs were formed quite naturally and the aim was to cut out all the extraneous stuff. Examples of this are the drums without toms and unnecessary fills, as well as the bass lines, which were kept in check. The guitar and saxophone parts are more of a paint job. And the vocals, on the other hand, are not the ones who are hunting for writing prizes. It’s the sum of its parts that gives it its personality.”
The band also released a new music video for track ‘Funny Games’.
“The third music video ‘Funny Games’ is a pure fun video, shot at the band’s base on a summer ranch in the middle of the woods. This video was shot and made as the first of these three video releases. This time it’s a playing video, which further emphasizes the fact that we don’t take ourselves and this stuff too seriously. That doesn’t mean, of course, that we don’t take it seriously. Live we will give you a real rock show when the time comes!”

Finnish punkroll band UGLY PUNCH released their second single and music video ‘Cool Sunglasses’.
The track is taken from their self-titled debut EP due to be released on February 22nd by Secret Entertainment.
The band comments:
“‘Cool Sunglasses’ is a more upbeat track than the previous single, which moves forward with a strong groove. (Of course!) This song doesn’t go for the fancy stuff either, but keeps it simple but through the UGLY PUNCH filter of course.”
The lyrics of the song tell it like it is.
“You may have all the superficial shit, but I’ve got something you don’t. You can see the content as it’s simply stated, or you can see it in more depth. Everyone can choose. But either way. It’s worth picking up this second single now, because there’s more to come!”
