Finnish metal band Koitos releases new single ‘Kaaostila’ from their upcoming debut album.
Musically, ‘Kaaostila’ is more raw and heavier than its predecessor.
For the more discerning, you can even hear hints of black metal.
“Humans are creative on building emotional voids around themselves and others, creating confusion, chaos, isolation and anxiety. In those voids and insecurity, in turn, lies its own breeding ground for false ideas and also the potential for the wider dissemination of violent and distorted ideology. And in humanity, unfortunately, there is always someone who can exploit and fill this vacuum. This song deals with this situation through the observations of an individual from the outside”,
describes vocalist Matti Hiitti.
In addition to the songwriting and lyrics, the single was recorded and produced entirely by the band.
The lyric video was made by bassist Aaro Pelttari based on the album cover artwork by Jussi Pohjanen.
The song was mixed and mastered by Rami Nykänen, whose portfolio includes bands like One Morning Left and Balance Breach.

Finnish metal newcomer Koitos released a third single ‘Virtaa’ (eng.’Flows’), from the upcoming debut album.
This song has more dynamics and it includes crushing riffs but also a delicate clean singing with a mellow piano.
Vocalist Matti Hiitti describes the theme of the song:
“The upcoming album deals with loneliness from many different angles. But in this song not in such a traditional way. The narrator of the song hides his mistakes under a hard shell, which emerges as crappy behavior towards others. In the end, people disappear around the narrator and he’s left to lick his wounds in solitude.”
Koitos debut album will be released later in autumn.

‘Tämä maa’ – single represents a darker and heavier side of the album than the first single.
Finnish metal band Koitos released the single ‘Tämä Maa’ (eng. ‘This earth’), which is the second release from the upcoming debut album.
First single ‘Ilman kurssia’ was released in October.
vocalist Matti Hiitti describes:
“As a composition, the song is dark and inconsolable so the apocalyptic theme for the lyrics ran through my mind right from the moment the song was created. Unfortunately the topic is constantly relevant.”

Finnish metal band Koitos has released a single and a music video (In the video the band plays in the middle of an autumn storm) for the song ‘Ilman kurssia’ (eng. ‘Without course’), which is the first release from the upcoming debut album.
vocalist Matti Hiitti describes:
“The song is about how self-centered behavior can lead you to be rejected by everyone. The narrator of the song adventures in maritime atmospheres, from which we also got the inspiration for the stormy atmosphere of the music video.”
