The spiritual successor to it’s older brothers ‘I’ and ‘II’, ‘H-Alpha’ is not the thirid part in a planned trilogy, but a foreshadowing to what is to come.
The first musical journey that takes to a higher ground, after ‘II’ elevated the the soul above the trees and the pastures that the debut ‘I’ sang praise of.
“This time we journey to the stars, the nebulae and the spectrums of light that our eyes, as with so much around us, cannot see. But this is by no means a scientific digression, but merely a humble collection of poems trying to intertwine the metaphors of life with those of space. Couriosity is what makes us human. Exploration is what makes us progress. And it is the things the naked eye doesn’t see that gets lost so easily though it carries the fragile filaments that make up our lifes.”
The first spectral line in the Balmer series, with a wavelength ov a wavelength of 656.281 nm (in air), H-Alpha is still not visiible to the naked eye.
Its emission can be observed from nebulae and maybe made visible with a dedicated filter.
As it is often in life, going the full mile is the hardest and most rewarding of experiences to experience life to the fullest.
“Since it’s inception, this project always stood for a realistic, but in a subtle way positive way of looking at life and the challenges it presents. In a way, relating ist lyric content to nature, and all that adheres to it (thus including the universe around us) made sense, as it is the only constant. At the same time, it presented a way to represent more of a guiding light than a human creator if the arts can ever be to the listener. The serenity of refuge into something bigger than we all, if you will. Exploring the depth of all that became part of this project and ist mission. While at the same time relating those seemingly ethereal concepts to everyday-life aspects. So it has become a journey from the bottom, the roots and the earth, over the hills of the human consciousness, now one beyond the mesosphere. Not being done by a professional musician, but merely a hobbyist and admirer of all things listed above, it came how it was meant to all along. Call it fate, call it intuition. It is, what it it is and in the end that is up to the listener. It may sound subpar to commercial records but maybe it is a part of its authenticity. Anything other would be an excuse for ist shortcomings. A small and honest record with a big heart. May it, above all, instill a sense of elevation and feeling of aliveness onto the listener.”
“The songs should be left open to the interpretation of the listener, but they have infact a predefined meaning for each, with the actual lyrics/title being but a metaphor.”
‘The Great Attractor’:
“About the couriousity of mankind in regards to space exploration an science. ‘The Great Attractor’ is a gravitational anomaly in intergalactic space and the apparent central gravitational point of the Laniakea Supercluster. The observed anomalies suggest a localized concentration of mass millions of times more massive than the Milky Way. However, it is inconveniently obscured by our own Milky Way’s galactic plane, lying behind the Zone of Avoidance (ZOA), so that in visible light wavelengths, ‘the Great Attractor’ is difficult to observe directly. In fact, it will not be for another hundred million years that Earth will be on the other side of the Milky Way galaxy, allowing us to see past the galactic plane. Approximation of 400 elliptical galaxies are moving toward the Great Attractor beyond the ZOA. The discovery of cosmic microwave background (CMB) dipoles were used to reflect the motion of the Local Group of galaxies towards the Great Attractor.”
‘Virga’:
“A virga is a form of precipitation. You may see it from a distance, resembling a veil of rain. Sometimes it feels like everything seems to rain down on us. But there is a chance in each crisis and can offer us an opportunity to reorganize, rethink and reconsider whatever ails us at the moment.”
‘Novae’:
“A Nova marks the death of a star. It also means the birth of a new one. Welcome to the circle of life. A song about new beginnings.”
‘Pleiades’:
“A star forming region with nebulousity. The Seven Sisters, M45, Subaru. Whatever oyu may call it, beauty is not forever. Some things are, but not that.”
An excerpt from one of the many translations/interpretations of the ‘pleiades’ poem from greek philosophostress Sappho:
‘The moon has left the heavens
The pleaiades have set
And at the hour of midnight
In solitude i fret‘
-Sappho (James Gate Parceval translation)
Founded in the earlier part of the 2000s and releasing the first public output around 2019, Galvornhathol (a nature related mélange of words constructed from Tolkiens´ ‘Sindarin’ language) aims to take its listener on a journey through the self, our planet and far beyond.
Developing a more focused sound from record to record, while still maintaining a handmade, rough approach to production.
Wandering thourgh hazey, atmospheric walls of delay and growling guitars.
Carried by ethereal pads and a voice more fragile, harsh and human than we allow ourselfs to be at times.
With the most recent EP, ‘H-Alpha’, the project delivers an appatizer to the third part in the trilogy of albums that started with ‘I’ and ‘II’.
Until then;
‘Ad Astra’
