‘In My Head’
Concrete Green has just unleashed his latest single ‘In My Head’.
The musical project is the brainchild of London-based singer-songwriter Daniel Green whose guitar-driven compositions draw listeners into a relatable world of soul-searching through the slightly cynical eyes of a 30-year-old idler.
Describing the creation of the track Daniel says
“I had the the first sentence of the song with the original melody played in my head like an annoying ear worm from about a year or even more I believe. I used to hear that line very distant and reverbed almost already as part of an existing song. A lot of time passed of and I decided to lay down some chords over the melody. From that point the song has totally changed and became a new idea though same melody I heard from the beginning stayed untouched.”
He says lyrically ‘In My Head’ descibes
“what it is to live in my head for a day. When you wake up everyday doubting your life decisions, then doubting the act of doubting your life decisions.”
Growing up between Tel Aviv and London, Green’s life has always been a blend of influences and cultures — from Bruce Lee and South Park to the Beatles, Radiohead, and 90s indie music.
The result is a sonic fusion of quirky, ambivalent songs mixing technical guitar mastery with hooky alt-rock textures and an outlook on life that is refreshingly down to earth.
Having played guitar in bands and as a session musician Green has worked with an array of producers and writers, including John Cornfield (Muse, Supergrass, Razorlight).
From tiny, sweaty gigs at Jaguar Shoes in Old Street to the bleeding-edge, fully immersive Outernet in Tottenham Court Road, he performs at venues large and small around Europe.
Now back with his Solo project, Concrete Green looks poised to deliver his brand of sometimes humorous, sometimes melancholic style of songwriting.
