Sküll’s mastermind Lars Lalle Jahnson explains:
“Just before the pandemic crisis I joined a Nirvana tributeband and finally got my home studio hooked up thanks to the guitarist…
Well info the world shut down I could finally record songs for real… as a tech stupid I just couldn’t get it right – until now… so easy and so rewarding with 15 songs within months…
So what to do… buy a new car or record a new rock album with my own music? – Well, If you’re listening, you know what I did .
All songs are written by me, Lars but developed and performed by a number of great musicians, whom I am indebted to forever – or till the next album where we work together.
If you feel that some songs sound or seem to be inspired by another band, then I thank you – that’s the whole point for this album as I was inspired of my youths band that I love, my inspirations was; Whitesnake, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Van Halen, Nirvana, Alive In Chains, Def Leppard, Saxon/Accept, Motorhead and many more…the only one missing is Motley Crue as it is not even easy to do a song like they do… but I will try 😉
Anyways… with Tomas Skogsberg in the studio and Ian Haugland on drums we got of to a great start and the songs kept growing and thanks to some fantastic feature artists it became an album… two years in the making.
Janne Schaffer and Ryan Roxie came along with great guitars, Lars Boquist and Noah Persson was amazing as well on their guitar pieces to make every song better.
My official profile is not as a musician – I was the organiser of Zeppelingalan, rewarding Swedish Rock and Metal bands 1991-1995. Every year broadcasted on TV, in Sweden by ZTV and the last three years by MTV, Headbangers Ball with Vanessa Warwick. A fantastic event every year, I thought… but it had to end.
So here I am, with my version of rock/metal… and I think it’s pretty good… What do you think?”
