Swedish death-metal duo Rot Fester are set to unleash their second EP, ‘Death Row‘, on November 21st, with a tape edition arriving via Ottens Tapes.
Formed in 2023, Rot Fester introduced themselves to the underground with their debut EP ‘Condone and Condemn‘ in 2024 – a release that immediately marked them as torchbearers of Sweden’s old-school death-metal lineage.
While many newer acts lean toward modern polish, Rot Fester proudly reject the trend, doubling down on the raw, unfiltered violence that defined the genre’s earliest days.
Their sound is a deliberate throwback:
brutal, primitive, and completely devoid of gimmicks.
Grinding mid-tempo passages collide with frantic blasts, creating a grim balance between slow, suffocating heaviness and feral speed.
It’s death metal at its most uncompromising.
Now, roughly a year after their debut, the band return with ‘Death Row‘ – a follow-up forged in the same filthy spirit, yet sharpened with even deadlier intent.
The new EP promises another slab of pure, no-frills extremity from a duo determined to keep the old school alive and rotting.
