‘3am’ is a song written by Jon Hughes with this rock arrangement by the band, Long Pockets.
It is a song about nocturnal anxieties, which may seem manageable in daylight hours, but take on monstrous proportions at this time at night.
During night terror bouts, people experience sweating, rapid heart rate, trembling, shortness of breath, hyperventilation, flushing or chills, and an overriding sense of impending doom.
People can awaken suddenly ‘bolting upright’ with their eyes wide open and a look of fear and panic on their faces.
They will often yell, scream, or attempt to speak, though such speech is often incomprehensible.
Furthermore, they will usually sweat, exhibit rapid breathing, and have a rapid heart rate.
In some cases, individuals are likely to have a thrashing of limbs – which may include punching, swinging, or fleeing motions.
Long Pockets are three English musicians with mutual love and respect of classic music from the early seventies.
Big guitar riffs, powerhouse rhythm sections, and soulful vocals.
A cocktail of influences inspired by Bands as diverse as:
Montrose, Deep Purple, Government Mule, Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, Pink Floyd, and The Faces to name a few.
