Deviser-Matt Chnaras:
“From the beginning the Greek extreme scene was of a high level and stood out”
Four protagonists on one stage, four flames, that for years now are lit for millions of fans and fans, one of the most historical black metal band in Greece and not only.
Their sound stands out, is special and can easily be described as the ‘Greek black metal‘ sound.
Yes, we all know them very well, they are the Deviser, the Black Metal band, that was founded in 1989 in Chania Crete, Greece.
They moved to Athens in 1992, later a mini tour of the band took place in Greece and Holland on December in 1994.
The Deviser΄s line up is Matt Chnaras, the founder, singer, guitarist and composer, Vaggelis Kastanas guitars and Nick Christogiannis bass, keyboards.
This unique blend of talent and success, that we enjoyed in Thessaloniki and Athens last month at ‘Eight Ball’ and ‘Kitaro’ club respectively in two excellent concerts which they were crowned with huge success.
For those who still haven’t enjoyed them, you have to go at the first opportunity.
Matt Chnaras in a special interview at Radio Highway Pirates talked to us about the band and everything you want to know about them.
Can you tell us a little about how deviser started, your first professional steps as well as your rise to the top?
“The whole idea started from my passion for extreme music and the tinder was given by bands like Hellhammer and Bathory, with the passage of time and the entry of members into the line up of the band , demo recordings and E.P.’s were made which gave us the opportunity to tour the Netherlands and that’s when we accepted the offer to sign with a big label like Mascot rec. With what we had, our limited experience borrowed equipment, we managed to give our best which made us known throughout Europe. This was very difficult to achieve at that time. You had to be really skilled without the conveniences that music technology offers today.”
Would you say that every time you go on stage, you get the same feelings as the first time?
“I can assure you that at my first time on stage I was terribly stressed with a lot of anxiety, I was shaking all over. All this was soon overcome in our very next appearance. I always remember that we have a lot of passion, when playing our songs live and we try to convey that to our audience.”
Did you encounter difficulties at the beginning of your career and how did you deal with them?
“It was quite difficult, indeed. There was no money, we were at a young age and it was very difficult to cope financially. Musicians passed by who didn’t believe in my vision, we had several member changes. I always tried to work on our music with talented musicians who would share with me the same passion and vision. I can say that some collaborations with musicians who were not willing to give everything to the band soul and passion, was the biggest obstacle I faced.”
Could you tell us, about your album ‘Evil Summons Evil’, your inspiration and about your cooperation with Kris Verwimp, as well as if you are satisfied with the reviews you received?
“Whatever dark thoughts we had as well as true metaphysical stories, were captured in the music we composed at that time when Nick was in a compositional frenzy. We had the opportunity to enrich the musical style accordingly so that everything fits together. We explained to Kris the whole concept of the album, sent him some material and let him freely create something similar. We had worked with him before and were sure the result would be just as impressive as our music. Throughout the world music press the reviews were shockingly impressive. We expected it but not to such a great extent. Even from magazines that we had no response to in the past, they now had Deviser in their pages.”
We open the time capsule and we see the ‘Unspeakable Cults’ album, what memories come out of you?
“Chills and intense moments. For the first time we had the budget and the opportunity to work with time in a big and famous recording studio. Actually, we followed the recipe of our previous self-financed demo at the same studio. I unforgettably remember the day when the mixing of the album started, we were all in awe, we were hearing something shocking and so grand. We were sure that this release would make a big impression and be adored.”
After years of being away from the music industry, what feelings come out of you?
“Frustration for wasted time and resentment for all the wrong decisions and partnerships. Everything went wrong during the composition of ‘Seasons of Darkness’. It wasn’t what I had envisioned, I felt like I was in another band. This was the reason we were in a long hiatus and went into hibernation until we found again the appetite and passion of our past.”
Is there a song of yours that stands out and has meaning for you and why?
“I would probably choose ‘Threnody’ for several reasons. It was the first song that Nick and I composed together. Its melody was nailed directly to our soul and this frozen feeling it emits would remain unchanged in time. Many have told us that they consider it one of the most classic songs in black metal and I have no reason to disagree with them.”
Tell us about your collaboration with Varathron and your recent collaboration on stage as well as the impressions it caused to the audience?
“Nick comes from the same town as their singer and founder, Stefan. They have a long friendship and maybe they were waiting for the right moment when we would work together on an event like this. Personally, I‘ve been a fan of Varathron since the time of their first demo, I would say with confidence. The fans were looking forward to these performances and indeed they were both sensational, the venues were suffocatingly full and the fans were ecstatic.”
Which of the bands you’ve worked with in the past have you had the most harmonious collaboration with and what experiences did you get?
“With Tiamat in early 90’s and 00s, we had a perfect collaboration. We learned a lot and we had a great time. We were taught how to prepare a proper appearance and how to remain modest. As well as with Sadistic Noise, harmonious coexistence, unforgettable memories. And with Septic Flesh we had an amazing appearance at a summer open air festival, our coexistence was ideal, great moments. We have a long-term friendship and we admire them for what they have achieved.”
How do you evaluate the Greek metal dark music scene over the years and what do you think has changed?
“From the beginning the Greek extreme scene was of a high level and stood out. This characteristic sound that most bands had, remains to this day. From time to time amazing albums were released by Greek bands that established our country high in the preferences of fans from all over the world. Some bands today are huge abroad and that makes me proud. I know they went through a lot of hard work to achieve this, they certainly deserve it. Generally, a lot of new releases from new bands are just as high level, now the knowledge is there. It’s easier today to create music. With us and I can imagine with a lot of others when we made our first albums, we didn’t know where it would all end up, if there would be a response to what we did etc. In essence, we were experimenting with the dark extreme sound without knowing that it would all be groundbreaking and timeless.”
How did your cooperation with a large range company like Hammerheart, come about and how would you characterized it?
“They knew us from a long time ago, they were excited with ‘Evil Summons Evil’ album, when we sent it to them complete, they were the only record label we came in contact with. They sent us an offer and we accepted. I think it was the most ideal way to make our return to the music scene have a bigger impact. Everything went as we wanted and as they told us. Our cooperation is excellent so far. They know their job, they are a respected record label, they love our music. Generally, we have always had a special bond with the Netherlands since the beginning of our career.”
What are your next musical and professional paths?
“We are already working on our next album. In the meantime we are also doing some live performances while we are also planning our European tour that will take place in the fall. We want everything to be done right. I can tell you, is that we will have the same producer, in the same recording studio as ‘Evil Summons Evil’ and that we are excited with the material we are working on now. Thank you for your support, I hope to see you in person at one of our gigs.”

Deviser a band with a long history and its roots in the purest metal music, Deviser was formed in 1989 by Matt (Vocals/guitars/bass).
Members of other bands (Agatus, Piranha) joined the band in 1992.
The band attracted the interest of the underground scene with the release of their 1st 7” inch EP and a small european tour in 1994.
Soon Deviser signed a worldwide record deal with Mascot Rec. (Holland) and the band’s first album ‘Unspeakable Cults’ showed off the fascination Deviser had with the Lovecraftian mysticism and featured melodic symphonic black metal.
This album dragged air into the burning lungs of black metal with triumphant reviews worldwide (Band of the month in Terrorizer and Metal Hammer magazines, No1 position in France ‘s radio stations, etc.).
In 1997 Deviser performed live as a supported band for Venom (with their original line-up), Ancient Rites, Emperor, Rotting Christ etc.
‘Transmission To Chaos’ album was released in 1998.
‘Running Sore’, Deviser’s 3rd album , was released in 2002.
A scheduled european tour and support band for Judas Priest , Slayer was cancelled by the authorities without obvious reasons.
‘Thy Blackest Love’ compilation released in 2003 and also Deviser participated earlier in the Bathory tribute ‘Hellas Salutes The Vikings’ released by Metal Invader magazine, covering the song ‘Call From The Grave’.
Deviser performed live in numerous open air festivals and big venue shows until their self-release ‘Seasons Of Darkness’ album in 2011 that includes a demo from their 2006 era.
The band was on hold until 2017, when the EP ‘Howling Flames’ was released.
In 2019 Deviser begun to work on their 5th album ‘Evil Summons Evil’ but due the worldwide pandemia of covid-19 recordings finished in late 2021.

Tower Of Babel-Joe Stump:
“The pandemic was tough not only for musicians but of course for everyone”
Despite their glory and their huge fame, they will always be the guys from Montana, regardless of how much talented, strengthened and famous they are.
It all started a Sunday morning with Joe Stump, the Shredlord (Alcatrazz, Holy Hell), Craig Gruber (Rainbow, Elf, Gary Moore) and Csaba Zvekan in 2014.
Despite their enthusiastic and fresh start, a bad period marked the band and before this promising line up could finish recording the album, one of the golden members, Gruber diagnosed with cancer and unfortunately passed on 5th of May of 2015.
Their breakup was devastating, but the band continued and completed the writing of their album.
Their first album, ‘Lake Of Fire’ that has released on July of 2017 and which has dark shades as the legend Stump said by himself, has won rave reviews from the press and also the heart of their fans.
The Tower of Babel now is formed by:
Joe Stump (guitar), Joe Amore (vocals), Mark Cross (drums), Mistheria (synth-organ) and Nick Angilery (bass).
Joe Stump, in a heart-to-heart interview to Radio Highway Pirates talked to us about the ‘Tower Of Babel’, their first album ‘Lake Of Fire’ and their next plans and steps.
The show must go on!!
Ιs there any particular reason, that your band is called ‘Τower Οf Βabel‘?
“The name comes from a very well known Rainbow bootleg containing the same title. And also the band’s music is very Rainbow influenced.”
When did you first become aware of this kind of music and what are the influences that pushed you to this inclination?
“Rainbow and Deep Purple are my main influences while composing the band’s music and those are two bands I’ve been listening to my entire life.”
Talk to us about ‘Lake Of Fire’, what does it talk about and what kinds music does it mix with?
“That track is very inspired by the iconic Rainbow tune ‘Gates Of Babylon’, with it’s dark middle eastern tonalities.”
What makes a song timeless and which song of yours do you consider timeless?
“For me classic hard rock and metal music is timeless, trends will come and go but it will always be there. And a timeless track is really in the perspective of a listener , it’s what makes it timeless to them. I’ve written many strong fairly high quality tracks, but nothing in particular comes to my mind.”
Describe to us what a concert with the tower of Babel is like (give us image, sound, energy, color etc).
“It’s a high energy hard rock/metal show with killer tunes performed by top notch musicians, all who play at a very high Level and our singer Jo Amore is a great vocalist as well as a front man.”
What do we remember from the ‘MIC Rock Festival’ in Villapiana, Italy?
“It was a great experience, the band had gone through quite a bit of turmoil involving our former vocalist and that performance kind of washed all that away and started us on our way to move forward together. The band played great and the crowd was awesome.”
Would you like to tell us a few words about the cornerstone Graig Grumber and the mark he left on the band and your life?
“That was very early, at the very start of the band and I never really got to know him all that well, Of course his passing is very sad.”
What are your expectations from ‘Tower Of Babel‘ and what else would you like to do that you haven’t done yet?
“We have a great new record so I’m excited for it, to be released later this year and then some touring will follow.”
Describe for us, the relationship you have built between you and what is it that led you to absolute success.
“I don’t know about absolute success, but I’m quite happy to keep doing what I’ve been doing for sometime now. Which is keep making high quality guitar driven hard rock/metal records and touring playing live.”
Would you like to participate in a charity concert?
“Sure we are always ready to support a good cause.”
What is your position on the period of exclusion that we all experienced and the subsequent events that arose from this situation?
“The pandemic was tough, not only for musicians but of course for everyone. I luckily came out of it just fine but I’m so glad it’s finally over.”
Tell us about your new plans, new dreams, new perspectives and new collaborations.
“Nothing new in the pipes these days, like I said the new ‘Tower Of Babel‘, entitled ‘Rules of Silence’ will be released later this year and I’ve been writing tunes for the next Alcatrazz record which will be the follow up to the highly acclaimed ‘Take No Prisoners’ and of course looking forward to getting out on the road with both bands.”

Hautajaisyö – Janne Partanen:
“Hautajaisyö is like best way to spend time with your brothers”
We have been their long-time fans and follow them at every opportunity.
They come from Finland.
Their songs and music are capable of melting icebergs.
‘Hautajaisyö‘ in Finish means, funeral, deadly nights, black and as wild as ever.
Each of their songs sends us messages of anguish and despair, as ‘weird’ as that sounds.
Hautajaisyö is a extreme death metal band.
Janne Partanen is the vocalist, Sami Lustig the guitarist, Simo Pesonen at the bass and Teemu Roth the drummer are Hautajaisyö.
The voice of Janne, is harsh, rough and worthily represents the band.
‘Hautajaisyö’, ‘Matkalla Kohti Hautaa’, ‘On Vain Primeys’, and ‘Ei Hauta Kysy Lupaa’ are some of their treasures, that have been hugely successful so far.
We’re thrilled to present an exclusive interview to radio highway pirates with the talented vocalist Janne Partanen, as we have the opportunity to explore Hautajaisyö΄s journey in music, cooperations, fame and success.
So sit back and buckle up well, because the journey is just to begin.
What does the name of the band mean and what does it express through it?
“Hautajaisyö means Funeral Night in English. Its taken from a song from black metal legend Horna. I wanted that the name is something unique and fits for our lyrical themes and music. Our songs have lots of death, despair, depression and mental problems in our lyrics. Songs are rooted in death metal. For me Hautajaisyö (Funeral Night) is the night when you deside to end your life.”
Why did you made the decision to rewrite the lyrics of your songs and to sing in Finnish?
“Me and Sami (guitarist) played together on a black metal band called Uhriristi. I really enjoyed writing in Finnish on that project and i realise i was so much better writing on my native language. Before Hautajaisyö we also had a band called REDEYE. It was mostly similar style, but more chaotic and lyrics were in English. So we deside i need to start writing in Finnish for that band also. With The change on laguage we also wanted to make less chaotic stuff and more death metal style music. So we killed of REDEYE and started Hautajaisyö with the same crew. That’s the story of Hautajaisyö. We think REDEYE as our demo era and have made few old songs to Hautajaisyö. Long story short: We wanted a change.”
Could you talk to us, about the song ‘Sinä Olet Helvetti’ (You are Hell) and the history it carries?
“The song was made by our old second guitarist Ville Moisanen. It was a good mix of our second albums melodic stuff and third albums aggression. Songs lyrics tell about being on a relationship with a narcissist person. Story is true and written from my life and one of my friends life. Kimmo Jalkanen made a awesome video for the song where we turned the idea to a domestic violence where the mother and wife is alcoholic and breaks her family with violence and fear.”
What kind of messages do you want to convey to the audience with your fourth album ‘Ei Hauta Kysy Lupaa’?
“The album is called ‘grave won’t ask’ permission and it tells about death. How we cant avoid it and how it will get us all. Song are filled with despair, fears and suicidal thoughts. Lots of the song were made when i was having really bad medical problems so you can hear my true thoughs on this album. It also has really deep melancholic tone that mix well with our aggressive songs. This is pure Hautajaisyö album and our best album. It has everything our music has and nothing more. If this had been our last album i would have been proud. The ending of albums first song tells perfectly what this album is trying to say ‘i am not ready to die. I just cant take this life. Grave won’t ask permission. It will wait us all’.”
What makes the album ‘On Vain Pimeys’ so special and why?
“Its our third album where we turned back to play with one guitarist after one album & single. With this album we found our sound and this is first album where Simo (bass) and Teemu (drums) were in the writing prosess. With this one we show our true potential. Songs are fast, aggresive and simple. With this album we tryed to harness our love for black metal to fit to our death metal & deathrash style. My best lyrics are found on this album and we play live almost every song from this album.”
How did your chemistry tie up, did you ever feel the germ of competition among you?
“We have been like four brothers from the start. Our humor is dark and twisted and we like to spend time together. All of us has this burning to make music we want to listen and it has glued us to a beast of a band. Everybody knows what to do and everybody does their part. Hautajaisyö is like best way to spend time with your brothers.”
Who are the real Hautajaisyö, when the microphones are turned off and the lights go out?
“We dont like to pretend to be anything. We are our true self all the time. I dont really care about bands that has to put on a mask to play shows or be on a band. We are four normal dudes with normal jobs and have passion to play extreme metal. Our songs have so much our personality on them so it would be stupid try to act something we are not.”
Do you believe that as artists you have fulfilled and actualized all of your dreams?
“Hautajaisyö, was made because we wanted to play music we want to listen. We love to play gigs and make new songs. Our career has been ascending from the first release. Next step is trying to get more festival gigs and it is a goal we are heading. Many ways we are living our dreams. We never wanted to be a professional band that tours all the time. 5 to 10 good gigs a year and we are super happy. Hope we can do this until our bodys are too broken to play so aggressive & extreme music.”
Where would you classify death metal as a musical genre, nowadays?
“Death metal is going strong. Old bands are making albums that fight with old classics. New bands are coming that keeps the genre alive (heh). Many bands mix old skool stuff with different genres and you get great new albums almost every week. What a time to be a death metalhead!”
How could you characterize Finland in relation to the music industry, especially the kind of music you represent?
“Finland is s big metal country and we have lots and lots of great bands here. Its not so mainstream here now days, so most extreme stuff like ours have hard time to get gigs. But more melodic stuff gets plays on radio, lots of festival on summer and you can go see a metal show almost every week. Metal music dont bring so much money so ticket prices are cheap and genres DIY mentality keeps new bands coming.”
What is your opinion about Eurovision contest, would you participate if you were offered a proposal?
“Fun fact! Some of our fans keep asking us to try to get our songs there. I do not think the contest would be really our thing and with our ‘we do what we want’ mentality would be too much there. It is a fun show but i dont really listen to that style of music. Lordi winning was great because i like Lordi’s music and last year’s Käärijä song was a banger of a song. Käärijä is like one of the few that type of artist i listen and enjoy. Even before the contest i liked his stuff because he has lots of energy and its so different than many modern lazy rap artists in Finland.”
What are your next steps and plans?
“Well Hautajaisyö is turning 10-years this December so we might do some special release then. We are also writing our 5th album and its about 50% ready. New songs have bit more old skool vibe so look out for a heavy album. We have 3 gigs coming this spring and few on summer. We keep doing stuff we love and want to do. I think that is a perfect plan for the future…”…Maria Stella Tsatsi…

Acid Death – Savvas Betinis:
“We were and still are a ‘heretical’ Death Metal band”
They are the creme de la creme of music, their songs are fiery and they themselves are pixie.
We are talking about Acid Death one of the oldest Greek bands, they were active from 1989 to 2001 and then their counter started to measure dynamically again from 2011.
Their color is classic thrash metal and they ended up, for many on a European level as representatives of progressive death metal.
Their countless appearances in unrivaled live and major European tours and their cooperations with well-known names in the music scene, such as (Kreator, The Haunted, Children of Boddom, Mayhem, Coroner, Onslaught, Pestilence, Sadist, Septic Flesh, Six Feet Under, Master etc), proves that they are already firmly on the ground.
The band has also participated in many and important festivals, such as Helvation Festival 2011 (Finland), Inferniac festival 2012 (Greece), Rockwave festival 2013 (Greece), New long festival 2013 (Greece), Metaldays festival 2013 (Slovenia), Noisehead Festival 2014 (Greece), Total Metal Open Air 2014 (Italy), Astarte Fest 2015 (Greece), Extreme Assault Fest Vol. I – 2016 (Greece), Veghel Deathfest III – 2017 (Netherlands).
“Primal Energies”, “Hall Of Mirrors”, “Eidolon”, “Random’s Manifest”, “Pieces of Mankind”, are some of their unique albums that they are crowned with success.
First of all we have to introduce them to you, so the leader of the band is Savvas Betinis (bass & vocals), Denis Kostopoulos (lead & rhythm guitars), Yiannis Anagnostou (Lead & Rhythm guitars) and Kostas Alexakis (drums & percussion).
They are the ‘Acid Death‘ rollers of the music scene.
Now, they are currently working on their new album, so we’ll have to stay tuned and be patient before the explosion.
Savvas Betinis in an exclusive interview only to radio highway pirates talks to us about the band Acid Death, their cooperations, ‘The Witch Hunt European Tour’, their upcoming plans and everything you want to know.
Tell us a few words about the band and how you inspired this innovative title, that goes by the name Acid Death and what about your characterization as a heretical Death Metal band?
“Yes, the band started back in 1989. We tried to have a name that could give a, let’s say, direction to what we do. ‘We play Death Metal, we like to have some elements that come from other music styles, a more ‘acid’ view on music…’ So the name Acid Death was something we liked and finally we kept it…And having the entire music course we followed during the years, yes, we were and still are a ‘heretical’ Death Metal band.”
Tell us about the album ‘Eidolon’ and what is its significance for you?
“‘Eidolon’ was the first album after band’s reunion in 2011, following the ‘Pieces Of Mankind’ of 1999 and ‘Random’s Manifest’ of 2000… The stress was the main feeling when we were working on this album, since the absence of almost 10 years was an important thing… You know ‘will the fans accept the band after so many years?…’ Things worked really well, so we had a greater moments after that album.”
With which bands, of those you have worked with, do you think you had the most harmonious and which the most difficult cooperation?
“Well, we prefer not to stay on the difficulties but on the final result of any cooperation. So, the cooperation with all the bands, especially on touring, was a positive inspiration for us.”
What are the advantages you have gained from your many participations in important festivals and which ones stand out?
“Most of all we had the opportunity to share the stage with legendary names of our music. And for sure playing in some big events made us stronger as band name.”
How did you feel that your album called ‘Primal Energies’ as soon as of its official release it took high position at amazon charts?
“‘Primal Energies’ was our latest album of 2019. Actually we believe that this was our top moment of our career until these days. Having a really good cooperation with Coroner’s Tommy Vetterli as co-producer this album made to lead us at the next level. So, having a really good position at Amazon charts was something that made us really happy.”
‘Pieces Of Mankind’ was voted to be the first among Greek Metal Scene – 40 Most Distinctive Album of all Time, what do you think about this?
“It was a big surprise for us! ‘Pieces…’ was the band’s first full album. It was a big honor for us to have it in a category like that.”
Which songs are considered a milestone in your musical career?
“So many to be mentioned!!!”
What was your experience with ‘The Witch Hunt European Tour’ and the band Master?
“Actually that was our first full European tour – although the band was out for many years we hadn’t the opportunity to tour around Europe – You know, it was the ‘first blood’, let’s say. Especially on that, touring with MASTER and Paul Speckman is a big school since the experience of this band on stage and on touring is tremendous!”
To what do you attribute your great and successful career?
“Actually to the hard work. We only try to work hard!”

Full House Brew Crew – Vangelis Karzis:
“We’re reinventing the wheel but we true to ourselves”
Everybody knows them, they don’t need special introductions, but even if there is someone who has missed these so talented artists, who are full of appetite, passion and creativity for music, that’s why we are here to introduce them to you.
The band Full House Brew Crew is a groove metal/heavy metal band, hailing from Athens, Greece and was born in 2009.
The frontman on guitar and voice of the band is Vangelis Karzis (ex bassist of the black metal legends Rotting Christ) and also main member of the band Wolfheart with his iron and unyielding voice.
Each member of the band is unique in his kind possessing enormous experience, as they all are special artists.
The band has in its potential a great amount of live performances in Greece as well as in many European countries.
Their exciting albums such as ‘Bet it All’, ‘Me Against’, ‘Bare Knuckle’, ‘Snake Eyes’ have all get the best reviews from music critics and fan as well.
Their influences range from selections, such as Pantera, Black Label Society and Metallica.
So, let’s introduce you to the other precious guys of the band:
Spiros Dafalias – Bass,
George Tzatzakis – Guitars,
Alex Keito – Drums.
They have also shared the stage with huge bands such as Spiritual Beggars, Corrosion Of Conformity, Planet Οf Zeus, Sober on Tuxedos, Nightstalker and many others.
Vangelis Karzis, the leader of Full House Brew Crew talked to radio highway pirates about the known group, about their album ‘Bare Knuckle’, their cooperations, their next plans and everything you WANT TO KNOW!!
Where did you come up with the band name ‘Full House Brew Crew‘ and why?
“This goes back to 2009. I had some songs in the works and I was searching for a name. We were playing a lot of poker back then and one day I was wining with Full House almost every time. The bass player, I had back then, was like ‘hey you have to name the band Full House’ and I was like ‘that sounds great’. I was working on a beer factory and consuming a lot of beers back in the days, so ‘Brew Crew’ was the final touch.”
How did your magical journey in music begin?
“I’m 15 years old and I was studying with a buddy of mine. He was really deep into metal. I wasn’t haha, he was putting on some Metallica tunes and soon I got glued to this music.”
How was the ‘Bare Knuckle’ inspired and what contributed to its creation?
“My entire agenda lyric wise goes around positive thinking, working a lot, never giving up. But I’m also a huge strength and fighting fan. Ι have huge respect for people who fight with one of the most primitive and honor ways, ‘Bare Knuckle’ fighting. So that was the combination of two.”
Do you think, that you have ‘Bet It All’ in your career?
“Yeah most definitely. I try to live on that quote.”
Could you tell us three powerful songs both for you and for your fans?
“‘Hollow God’, ‘No one’s safe’, ‘Servant of despair'”
What is it like sharing the same stage with Spiritual Beggars?
“To be honest it does nothing to me. I felt very honored though. I’m not a fanboy so I try to learn from their professionalism and quality. Great band, good guys!”
What do you think has been the best collaboration in your career so far?
“I’d say it’s been Wolfheart. One with Jesse Leach from Killswitch. Engage, we did the song ‘Ancestor’ and the song ‘The King’ where I do some singing.”
It is said, that the band΄s strongest point, is it’s live performances, what do you say about that?
“We put everything on the show. We are bringing on stage what the album is missing, the human factor and the interaction with the audience.”
What kind of effect does the band’s breath and music have on the world?
“We’re reinventing the wheel but we are true to ourselves. Most bands trying to show off or fake a persona. We give to people some strong ballsy powerful headbanging music.”
Tell us a few words about the album ‘Me Αgainst Υou’.
“I’m so proud for this album. This was the first album with our label ‘ROAR’. I remember working a couple of years for this one. I was trying to elevate all aspects of the band but mostly the songwriting.”
Which of your songs do you think received rave reviews and was liked more generally?
“I’d say the first single from the ‘Bare Knuckle’ album ‘Black Flag’.”
Which artists or bands is a lifelong dream to work with both live and in the studio?
“I never think that way. I don’t really care about working with anybody but would be fan. Haven’t thought about it.”
Tell us a few words about the band Wolfheart, in which you are also the lead guitar.
“It’s a band, I’ve been a member since 2019. We did two albums already and one EP. We are currently working on the new album.”
Would you like to add or tell us something more about yourself and Full House Brew Crew and your upcoming and future plans?
“We are having a show in Cyprus for the very first time and we’re currently booking shows for central Europe! The new album almoust done and it’s gonna be out in may!”…Maria Stella Tsatsi

Scream Idol-Johnnie Holliday:
“The best shows and nights were the ones that I can’t remember”
Glam, light, screams and lots of sparkle with an authenticity of pure rock music.
Their story great and their music popular, they are definitely rock icons.
Firstly they were the Star Star, until the new stars Scream Idol were born.
Shiny memories, a lot of rock, a lot of fun, a lot of madness, a lot of glory and a long career and all in the superlative degree.
As you already know their story, they were originally formed in Hollywood, although the band is considered a New York band.
Too many concerts, in Europe, America, Greece specifically in Athens, with thousands of fans around the world, who follow the unique rock band.
Their cooperations, are many and resounding, such as the giant Alice Cooper, Joan Jett, Guns΄n Roses etc.
We take the plane of time and we are travelling to 92’s ‘The Love And Drag Years’, they were signed to the Roadrunner label and took a year to record the hit.
After a difficult period, the great band was reborn from its ashes, renewed and continue to enthrall us, even more with their music hits, their power and the talent of the old glory combined with a renewed costume.
Scream Idol are Johnnie, who plays guitar and sings, Weeds the bass player and Jack the drummer.
Johnnie Holiday, in a confession of heart for Radio Highway Pirates talked to us about Star Star, ‘The Love Drag Years’, the debut album ‘Movie Mary’, their cooperations and their next steps.
Ladies and Gentlemen, we present you Scream Idol as you have never seen them before!
How did Star Star as a band transform into Scream Idol and what material is their new uniform made of?
“We just didn’t feel like Star Star anymore. After the deaths of our drummer and guitarist the ‘Love Drag Years’ were over and we basically continued on as Star Star in name only. The feeling was gone. The Scream Idol stuff still has a lot of Star Star in it, of course but, it’s also who we are right now.”
Can you recall a live from Star Star, that you you still remember with nostalgia?
“The best shows and nights were the ones that I can’t remember.”
Let’s go back to 1992 and to the memories and the release of Star Star’s ‘The Love Drag Years’ and what taste did it leaves you?
“All those years were full of bad habits. It was a wild ride on the road to ruin man. Despite all that, we did grow a lot as musicians and performers. The feeling I have now is that those early tours and record deals might have been a little too early for us. Too crazy.”
You have chosen to re-record some songs from your first album ‘Go Go Girls In Love’, how did this come about?
“Those songs originally came out on some drug dealer’s production company, so we decided to give them another chance. Actually FNA Records re-mastered and is gonna’ re-release that album in 2024.”
What was the characteristic element that existed in original rock music and now doesn’t exist anymore?
“The music was a reflection of individual character and a lifestyle. It just seems that today’s bands are trying to write songs like somebody they’re not and songs that sound like everybody else.”
How was sharing the same music scene with real music giants like Guns’n’Roses, Joan Jett, Alice Cooper and who was the most demanding or difficult to cooperate with?
“Most of the headliners are older. Some are even fuckin’ married or have kids. I never felt comfortable with married people or people with kids. Playing with bands you grew up liking is really cool but, being that it’s a thing that you gradually work up to, you don’t get the same rush as you would if it happened overnight and, if they were still how you remember them. Difficulties? Not really. One night the tour manager of the headliner felt that there were too many people in our ‘entourage’ to eat at the buffet backstage. He actually said, ‘only eight of you can eat’. Weeds politely explained that, ‘we don’t wanna’ fuckin’ eat man. Fuck your food.'”
Could you tell me a few words about the debut album ‘Movie Mary’ and which of the songs stand out and why?
“A cool thing was working with our original guitarist Mickey Mess. He’s a big time producer and mix guy in Switzerland now. That took away a lot of the stress. We knew he wasn’t gonna’ make us sound like pussies. Different songs stand out depending on my mood and how straight I am.”
Tell me about your experience from the music tours, among Los Angeles, New York, Europe and especially Athens and which one do you prefer and why?
“Well, the tours are always fun for the usual rock n roll reasons. Yeah the shows are cool but so is the madness of partying in all different places. Even though New York is our home town, we’re kind of partial to L.A. and Athens…and not just ’cause of the chicks.”
Ηow did you spend, the period of pandemic such in professional as in personal level?
“For us it was a good time. A lot of crazy parties at home. We finalized and mixed the debut album. Even though we weren’t playing we were still partying heavy and making music.”
What is the story behind every success of yours?
“My only success is being a musician. Even when I was struggling, I felt successful ’cause I was a musician. Music and the band have always defined my character. That’s my secret to happiness.”
What are your next plans?
“Well, first we’re gonna’ party heavy this holiday season. Then go down to the methadone clinic and get on a program. Then we’re gonna’ put out a bunch of club re-mixes and a bunch of new songs. Shoot a few videos….and present a new and totally different show.”…Maria Stella Tsatsi

The Kings – Mister Zero:
“We still love and believe in what we are doing as a rock band”
Whoever said that kings belong to fairy tales is lying.
The Kings have been with us, by our side at every rock concert for many years.
This cologne lasts years and in fact is expensive and very successful.
Let’s take it all from the beginning.
In the late 70s, the band formed in Vancouver, British Columbia and Oakville, Ontario, Canada, they were originally known as Whistle King.
The Kings know the recipe very well as they enlivening the audience with their passionate rhythmic and pure struggle of their voice with the rock element.
Their first album ‘The Kings Are Here’ went gold in Canada and it was re-released on cd as ‘The Kings Αre Ηere Αnd Μore’, combined sales have won the platinum position as they deserve it.
Do you know that their seque ‘This Beat Goes On/Switchin To Glide’ released and it was caught on all over the USA and Canada with huge airplay in every major market and stayed on the Billboard Hot 100 for six months.
At the time, it was rightly considered the most promising group by Cashbox Magazine and nominated for a Juno Award.
Their next stop was ‘RSVP’, which contains the classic festive ‘This Christmas’, followed by ‘Unstoppable’.
And it was really unstoppable like its title.
Highlights:
Their documentary, about the greatest success of the Kings, ‘Anatomy of a One-Hit Wonder’ and ‘Live Trilogy’, which includes ‘The Lost Tapes of a Seventies Bar Band’, ‘Party Live in ’85’ and the DVD ‘No Covers-Live at O’Tooles Roadhouse’.
Αs their entire road is a clear proof of their excellence and professionalism.
In 2019, these rock music hunters released two segue songs ‘Circle of Friends/Man That I Am’ by the famous producer Bob Ezrin.
Are you thirsty for more?
Have anyone of you heard the magical ‘A Rose for Your Stone’?
Or do you prefer ‘Always Off The Deep End’, or what about the track ‘I Know So’?
All these and more are little jewels of the legends!
Mister Zero, the songwriter and the guitarist of the band is here drop to talk about everything at radio highway pirates.
Let΄s enjoy them!
What is the history of The Kings in a few lines and who are the people who make them up?
“The Kings are a Canadian rock band who got together in the ‘70s with the aim of writing original songs and making records. Original members were David Diamond, lead vocal and bass guitar, Sonny Keyes, keyboards and vocals, Max Styles, drums and Mister Zero, guitar.”
How about the first name of the band Whistle King came out?
“Our singer David Diamond was driving semi trucks at the time and his ‘handle’ on the CB radio was ‘Whistleking’ and so we thought that would be a good name, then we shortened it.”
What do you remember from your meeting with the great producer Bob Ezrin?
“Bob had finished with Pink Floyd and ‘The Wall’ and was back in hometown Toronto and stopped by Nimbus 9 Studio where we were working on our indie album at night. He’d worked with Alice Cooper and others there and our manager played him what we were doing and he thought we had something. And so he went to LA and got us a major label deal with Elektra Records. A real Cinderella story!”
How did you feel and what did you get on the 40th anniversary of the release of your first album ‘The Kings are Here’?
“It was hard to wrap our heads around that milestone. We’ve never stopped writing, recording and doing gigs and although we’ve had some tough times, we still believe in what we do. Around that time ‘This Beat Goes On/Switchin’ to Glide’ was inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame and we received a Gold Single Award for that and a Platinum Award for the album ‘The Kings Are Here’…. great stuff!”
What was the reason that you released the documentary ‘Anatomy of a One-Hit Wonder’?
“We felt we had a story to tell and since everyone thinks we are a ‘One-Hit Wonder’, we decided that we’d call ourselves that before other people did. We focused on the music and how it came to be and left the sex and drugs part out because that stuff has been done to death and is boring. It is a great look at how we worked hard and got somewhere with it.”
How do you feel that the band Cherry Poppin’ Daddies released a single cover of ‘Switchin’ to Glide’?
“There’s lots of bands doing it on youtube, the Daddie’s version isn’t too bad musically, but the video is pretty bad.”
What do you have to tell us about your ‘Live Trilogy’?
“We wanted to give people a chance to see what we were like at different points in our journey. The first part is ‘The Lost Tapes of a Seventies Bar Band’ which captures us recorded live in a local club when we first got going, doing covers and originals. It’s great to have this, a real time capsule. Next is ‘Live at Heatwave’ which is us filmed live at a concert in 1980 at Mosport Race Track near Toronto. Also on the bill were Talking Heads, Elvis Costello, B-52’s, Pretenders and more. It’s an incredible movie and again captures us at a fantastic moment. Next is the ‘No Cover Live at O’Toole’s’ video and is from the early ‘90s in another club, once again showing the quality and energy of our live gigs.”
What have been the biggest hits for you so far and why?
“Well, while we have lots of great songs, we’ll always be known for ‘This Beat Goes On/Switchin’ to Glide’ and we don’t have a problem with that, we love it!”
The Kings of 80΄s are different from The Kings now?
“Our original drummer Max Styles quit in 1983 or so and since then we’ve had a lot of other guys but Todd Reynolds came on board in 2007 and he’s a keeper.”
If we could compare musically, between the ‘80s and now, what would you prefer and why?
“In our band, there’s a link through the decades with what we do. But in general, music back then was more authentic because the technology wasn’t in place to let you have no talent or ability and still make records. The analog world was better than this one.”
Do you want to say something that you haven’t said above?
“Just that we still love and believe in what we are doing as a rock band and people pick up on that, when we have fun at our shows.”
How about your plans?
“Our new album ‘The Longest Story Ever Told’ is out and it’s either our best or close to it. We’re really happy with it and hope people check it out. We’re also playing more shows and would love to have everyone come out and have a good time with us!”

Wild Machine (Johny Hott)

Billy Dagger – guitars, back vocals
John Yell – guitars, back vocals
Simon Key – bass
Chris Jones – drums
Wild Machine – Johny Hott: Star Star guys called me up and said ‘get ready to play in the center of Athens’
It was early Millennium, when a group of musicians would go on to become one of the most fascinating and glam bands of heavy metal music.
Firstly they change their name from ‘Warmachine’ to ‘Wild Machine‘, then followed their numerous appearances in Athens, Thessaloniki, Patras, Sofia etc.
The band, slowly transformed into a superstar group as they prove it with their hard work and their unique stage presence.
They truly are machines of heavy rock, with a little glam gold dust and their huge collaborations on stage with monsters of the music industry, such as Gilby Clarke (former Guns ‘n’ Roses), Star Star etc.
The live performances include the original compositions of Wild Machine and some covers by Kiss, Poison, Slade, Motley Crue, Tigertailz etc.
Followed, significant support for Ryan Roxie (Alice Cooper band), Faster Pussycat, Skid Row and it was now time to create an album, which due to various commitments was delayed.
The creation started in 2009 and was completed in 2011 by Jay Messina in New York (sound engineer for Kiss, Aerosmith, Ted Nugent, Cheap Trick etc).
The debut album titled ‘Wild Machine II’ is released – due to the fact that two albums should be released during this time – from the American Perris Records (with names on its roster such as Helix, Love/Hate, Pretty Boy Floyd, etc.) in June 2012.
Wild Machine has stigmatized and strongly engraved in the memory and soul of the world music.
Followed a period of changes in the composition of the band and some drafts of songs began to be feverishly prepared.
In 2017, the recordings continued and in November of 2020 the 7″ vinyl ‘prize surprize/work it out’ is released by NuN records as a precursor to the new album.
The lead vocalist of Wild Machine Jonny Hott opened his heart and talked to us about everything we want to know about them in a exclusive interview.
Once upon a time Wild Machine band was born… contiue…
“And brought the glitter, glitz and glitch in the greek rock matrix wich still going on today…”
What role do Wild Machine band play in your life?
“Trouble, fun and more trouble. And addiction on playing rock and roll in the flesh for more than 20 years!!”
What was the reason that your first album came out so late and why was the debut album called ‘Wild Machine II’?
“The name is ironic cause we should have already the debut out before 2012, i was living in another city out of Athens, before the release the lineup had changed, it was total chaos but we made it. You can remember those years, the pick of the greek financial crisis.”
What kind of memories do you have from your cooperation with Gilby Clarke and Star Star band?
“We were friends with the Star Star guys and hung out, they knew Gilby Clarke before joining Guns’n’Roses cause they lived in the same area in the 80s. I remember the story how that live show came out. At first it was announced to be in a local club in our neighborhood (Petroupolis-western Athens, in the same club Steven Adler had a gig back in 2003-04) and we where about to be the opening band. Star Star guys called me up and said ‘get ready to play in the center of Athens’, change of club, so even better.”
Describe to us the atmosphere that prevails at one of your live shows.
“Adrenaline, fun and everyone leaves with a smile i guess. That was the goal since forever anyway, to give you more than expected, everything was so flat when we came out in the late 90s/early 2000s. So i demanded the ‘more’ factor. That’s why I’ve chosen glam.”
Ηow did your collaboration with the sound technician of Aerosmith Jay Messina come about?
“A friend from rockpages magazine had an interview and he introduced us to Jay Messina, he said ‘those guys have an atmosphere from the Aerosmith toys in the attic era’ so it was familiar for him to manage with our sound, we where huge fans of his work, he was behind the desk on our favourite records.”
What do the names Ryan Roxie (Alice Cooper band), Faster Pussycat, Skid Row mean to you?
“The Roxie gig came again because of the Star Star guys, Alice Cooper is a huge influence on us and the meaning of theatrical rock. No Alice no Wild Machine, as simple as that. ‘Wake me when it’s over’ is one of my favourite records of that scene so opening for faster pussycat was a big deal. And the Skid Row gig was one of our best shows ever. I remember that name being huge back in 1990, i had posters and stuff and ‘slave to the grind’ was my go-to record.”
Tell us a few words about ‘prize surprize/work it out’ and your collaboration with NuN records.
“It was released in the first day of COVID quarantine, so its another weird story. limited edition and sold out in one day. We wanted desperately something on vinyl so we catched the opportunity. Everything went fast, lots of people want it but it’s out of press. It was like a test.”
Do you want to announce or say something that you haven’t said?
“January there will be a great show in Athens with us joining in. Announcements soon. Stay in touch through socials: Facebook.com/wildmachinegr and Instagram.com/wildmachinegr.”
What are your immediate plans?
“Getting the record out or at least another single and video and playing as more shows as possible. Thanks so much for having us!”

Tank (Mick Tucker)
an interview by Maria Stella Tsatsi
Tank are:
Mick Tucker – guitars
Cliff Evans – guitars
Marcus von Boisman – vocals
Gav Gray – bass
Mark Cross – drums
For many years they have been the living example, that metal music still exists.
No special introduction is needed, their legend has been living for years since 1980.
After many successes, fame, glory and after a break, they returned to us in order to fascinate us again with their songs and their ‘magical’ stage presence.
Now they are here again with us!
After 40 years, they will perform live on 24th of March in Houston, Texas, USA and as always, they will be cheer on by fans.
Mick Tucker talked to Radio Highway Pirates, about the band, their cooperation with Metallica, their break up and their come back and their new plans.
Take deep breaths and greet them!
What is it that sets Τank apart, from the moment of their creation until now?
“We have always been different to everyone else with our own style and attitude ,always trying to be original now we have put together the ultimate TANK line up with everyone giving it 100%. We now have a new album already down and ready to record that is in my opinion the best we have ever recorded.”
What do you remember from the explosive album ‘Filth Hounds of Hades’?
“I wasn´t part of the band till after ‘Power Of The Hunter’ but I remember seeing lots of posters all over London at the time and reading great reviews of the album. Some of the numbers off this album are still in the live set today.”
What was it that contributed to the band breaking up the first time?
“We had recorded the ‘TANK V’ album at Beethoven studios in London and where just about ready to mix when I found out that I had not been receiving my fair share of money form Algy so I put a injunction on the album stopping the release until they sorted out the situation. As usual on all the Tank albums I had contributed to the song writing and recorded all the guitars rhythm, harmony, clean, and lead guitar tracks over the entire album so they would have to re record the entire album again if I pulled my guitars off the album, this went on for a few months then TANKS manager Doug Smith paid me off then the band fired me. Being the driving force in Tank they split up after one disastrous gig.”
What kind of taste did 1984 leave for Ταnk?
“Algy and myself where listening to a lot of Deep Purple, free, Mountain at this time and ended up at my London flat writing the entire ‘Honour & Blood’ album in two intense weeks. We then headed off to Tunbridge Wells every weekend to record the demos for the album for a couple of months. We then got new drummer Crash Crallan in and rehearsed the album up and went in and recorded the album.”
What it’s like to cooperate with beasts like Metallica?
“They where real great with us, gave us full use of the PA and lights and we had a fantastic time with them. James used to watch every show from the side of the stage and Cliff Burton used to play lots of Tank songs through the PA during pre gig football matches, we also sound checked for them a few times when they where late for the show, always play a few Thin Lizzy songs and even learnt ‘Kill em all’ for much to the amusement of the crew.”
Tell us a few words about your album ‘Still At War’?
“We recorded the album at Barnyard studios in Tunbridge Wells. I paid for all the recordings on this album but didn’t get involved with any song writing as usual I recorded all the guitars on the album.”
How did two bands with the same trunk, but with different branches come about?
“Algy retired in 2004 due to health issues and in 2009 Cliff and myself played a n.w.o.b.h.m festival in Germany doing two tracks in a tribute set with Tom Angelripper on bass and Schottkowski on drums the reaction was so good we decided to carry on with the band.”
How would you characterize the album ‘Re-ignition’ and why?
“It was a filler album in my opinion I already had enough ideas for a new album but no one showed any interest. So this was recorded to fill a gap.”
What was the composition of the band that made it stand out in the 80s’ and what was the element that changed it?
“The addition of myself on ‘this means war’ made a big difference. I was brought in to get the band a much wider audience and heavy up the guitar department. Then drummer Crash Crallan was brought in form my old band White Spirt on drums he made a massive difference, then Cliff Evans was brought in for the Metallica tour. This was the best line up until now.”
Who are the tanks today and what are you preparing for us?
“The new line up is, the amazing Marcus von Boisman on lead vocals a truly outstanding singer and songwriter Gav Gray on bass mr rock´n roll thunderous bass playing with a attitude, Mark Cross, our old mate on drums who’s track record speaks for itself And Cliff and myself on guitars. We have a thundering new album on the way, its heavy as fuck with top notch songs with the ultimate tank line up. The first appearance with this formidable line up will be at Hells´n Heroes Festival on March 24 2024, in Houston, TX USA. This will be Tank´s first live appearance after almost 40 years!! Later in 2024 we plan a massive tour and festivals of course!”

Their live shows are legendary and unparalleled, unique, unrivalled and one better than the other.
They are genuinely soldiers of music and initiate us into heavy metal.
The band is led by the one and only virtuoso Angelos Perlepes, who makes the guitar talk and seduces us with his unique songs.
They have been traveling us through their music since 1986 in Greece and Europe.
They’ve put in many years of hard work and having achieved tremendous success and enormous reputation.
Let me introduce you the full golden team:
Angelo Perlepes – all Guitars, backing vocals, bass pedals
Takis Avramopoulos – bass
Thanos Dimitrogiannis – drums
Dimitris Sirgiannis – lead & backing vocals
and Stella Kontogianni – backing vocals.
Their hits are many and unforgettable such as ‘Mystery’, ‘Broken Sword’, ‘Fatal Passion’, ‘Do Me Love’, ‘Show No Mercy’, ‘Babe Blue’ etc.
After a short break, they are now, here with us, more alive than ever.
Angelo Perlepes, gave us an exclusive interview and talked to Radio Highway Pirates, about the band, the inactivity period of the band and their new plans.
What story connects the band Mystery, with metal until today?
“I don’t remember a story of that kind… 37 years ago. Oh so many years…”
Who was the artist that, inspired you to pursue this special kind of music?
“There were two of them, Jimi Hendrix and J.S.Bach…”
Tell us three songs of yours that have stigmatized you and why?
“I can’t do such a discrimination since my songs are my children.”
With whom artist or band would you like to coexist on stage and you haven’t done it yet?
“With the before mentioned ones but they’re dead, aren’t they?”
Do you believe that heavy metal, has cramping its style over the years?
“Absolutely yes!”
What was the reason you distanced yourself from the active music scene for a period?
“The fact that I didn’t get paid and I had to pay instead, in order to record or play live. I didn’t wanted to be part of that ridiculous situation. If the industry had changed it’s orientation so I did. On the other hand, when I try new tracks on stage, the audience was start asking for the old ones, so what’s the point? I just came back from the… pits without any expectation but to create art without compromise of any kind.”
How do you receive the love of your fans, in your live shows?
“By singing along and applauding of course…”
What are your next plans and music stations?
“A scheduled recording is on the programme in the next few weeks which probably lead to our next album release.”

HATTIE GREEN
an interview by Maria Stella Tsatsi
HATTIE GREEN are:
Rocky – vocals
N.R Janoes – guitars
Nikos Kastanas – bass
Thanos Dimitriou – drums
Hattie Green – N.R. Janoes:
“We are preparing an album and it will be titled ‘Dead End’.”
It didn’t take long, since I saw them live for the first time, the sound of the guitar in the room brought out heavy rock notes, the drums were looking for their own and claiming it in every way, when the bass joined them harmoniously, then the voice of Nikos Kastanas came to bind the whole ensemble in a magical way.
Suddenly, the lights came on and Hattie Green appeared, everyone was screaming, shouting and clapping, while bodies danced in a chaotic and lively room and the only thing that could be heard clearly is the combination of pure hard and heavy rock, combined with familiar sounds and rhythms in the American heavy rock scene of the 70s.
Hattie Green, has a rough and steady rock and at the same time, an unchanging and always current and dynamic action.
In short, it’s a source of talentede and pure rock music authenticity.
Hattie Green, it’s a Greek-German band born in Athens in 2007 by the leader of the group, the talented and successful Nikos Kastanas.
The whole line up, is Michael Neukirchner (aka Rocky)/ vocals, Nikos Kastanas/ bass, Thanos Dimitriou/ drums and N.R Janoes on guitars.
Their acclaimed debut ‘Here comes the Lady’, later came ‘Burning Wheels'( discography: ‘Banker’s Dreamland’), ‘Party Time'( discography: ‘Here comes the Lady’) and many other hits that catapulted them to the heights.
Let’s also refer to their latest fire ‘Lost’, which broken all records so far, by Iason Productions.
What’s in store for us next?
The guitarist of Hattie Green N.R Janoes, opened his heart to Radiohp.net and talked to us about the band, about their new gem ‘Lost’, about their cooperation with Paul Di Anno and Cliff Evans, the lockdown period and their plans.
Are you ready to get on board?
How was Hattie Green born and how did the name of the band come about?
“Hattie Green were formed in 2007. Τhe history of the band’s name is lost in time. The currently line up is Michael Neukirchner (aka Rocky) vocals, Nikos Kastanas – bass, Thanos Dimitriou – drums and me on guitars.”
To be honest, I was thrilled listening to your songs, but why you have not achieved recognition by the general public?
“First of all, I want to thank you for your kind words. On the second leg something we hear from a lot of people. We’ve had accidents, I guess. Economic crisis, ups and downs, and in the end a lockdown. But we’re still here. We’re still strong and ready to rock.”
How do you see your evolution through time as well as through the eyes of your fans?
“We started in 2007. Many members came and went from the band. Everyone contributed to the band. We worked with great artists and had great collaborators. We travelled and met a lot of people. We gained a lot of experience. I think evolution is reflected in our work. We have some very good new material that we’re looking forward to release.”
Which of your songs stand out and why?
“Difficult question…We have two albums and both contains great songs. I could mention ‘Rocket Roll’ or ‘Burning Wheels’, a song that was included in a compilation of the Fireworks magazine. It’s not about the quality of the two songs, but for personal reasons.”
What is the composition mix, which consists of the magic potion of the band?
“We have been together for many years and above all we are friends. We are a family. There is no magic. We work a lot and we are on a very good level.”
Talk to us about your latest release, ‘Lost’ (feat. Dimitra Koenka).
“It’s a very beautiful song that we started working on before the arrival of covid. It’s a special song for us because it’s completely different to our style and Dimitra΄s fantastic voice has made it one of my favorites.”
You have given concerts in Greece and abroad, which concert do you remember most?
“We enjoy all shows in the same way. Whether it’s a small venue or a festival. In order to answer this question, I would say the first mini tour we did in 2009, in Central Europe.”
Tell us a few words about your cooperation with the extraordinary Paul Di Anno and Cliff Evans.
“It was a great honour for us to have Paul’s participation on our first album. That’s why a very good, mutual friend of ours, Lea Hart, stepped in. The same of course goes for Cliff from the legendary band Tank. He listened to the ‘Party Time’ and wrote one of his signature solos. There are many stories specifically about Paul Di Anno, but it’s not easy to share them publicly.”
How difficult was the lockdown period for you, both musically and personally?
“It was a nightmare. We’ve had our share of human losses. Musically it was extremely difficult. 2-3 years of inactivity. Such a waste of time…”
What are you planning for the near future?
“We are preparing a new album. We are recording a new album. We have some very nice songs. It will be pleasant surprise for our friends. Really…The album will be released sometime in 2024 and will be titled ‘Dead End’. We also want to take part in concerts and give as many as possible.”

SIVA SIX
an interview by Maria Stella Tsatsi
Siva Six are:
George-Z – vocals
U-Ri – keyboard
Siva Six-George Z:
“There is a descent scene in Greece we always had a good feedback and felt loved by the local scene.”
They are eccentric, unique in their kind and that’s what makes them so special.
They have performed in 18 countries, 60 bands have remixed their unique gems and have shared the stage with bands like Front 242, Gothminister, Type O Negative, Clan of Xymox, Cubanate, Soman, Grendel, DieKrupps, Theatre Of Tragedy, Apoptygma Berzerk, Hocico, S. i. t. d, Rotersand, Pansonik, Arcturus. I suppose it΄s the dark and electro element of their character that gives to this recipe a spicy and hot filling.
Their extraordinary album, ‘Dawn of Days’, was released in 2016, followed by the remix album ‘NYX’ in February 2018, which includes songs from their latest release, with a huge impact, as it entered the top ten of the German charts.
The famous band, released in April 2021 the Digital Single ‘Ghost Dance’, with this song Siva Six annouced the release of ‘DeathCult’, which had released on November 19th 2021 by Alfa Matrix Records worldwide.
Their last show in Athens, Greece was in January and we are looking forward to see them again!
George Z the co-star of the band, opened his heart in a revealing interview to Radio Highway Pirates and talked to us about the band, their collaborations, the industrial dark/electro music, the impact to Greek and foreign audience and their plans.
What is the history of Siva Six and what make them stand out?
“Our first album came out 18 years ago, since then we have released several albums, EP’s and singles, we always walked in our shoes and that’s one of the reasons we are still here.”
When did you feel the first stings of electro music?
“That should be at early 90’s, bands like Front 242, Einstuerzende Neubauten, NIN and so many more triggered us to delve into Electro/Industrial genre.”
Comment on the following lyrics:
“Along my way the pit of slaying, my ticket pay, of Ghost Dance”
“No comments…lol, that is a very personal song which describes the death of an intimate relationship of mine and the aftermath.”
Tell us a few words about the successful & Deathcult and your collaboration with Alpha Matrix.
“We have been working with Alfa Matrix for 12 years, though our contract is by now fulfilled. ‘DeathCult’ album was perceived by fans and media as one of our best so far personally I really love this one, it has climbed at the top 10 of GEWC for 8 weeks in a row (German Charts).”
Which is the source of inspiration and creation of your eccentric and powerful image of your video clips and stage presence?
“Inspiration may vary since my influences from music, films and life itself is repetitive and compulsive, after all that’s us and a part of our souls either music or video wise.”
Which album, it΄s your favourite one and what messages do you want to give?
“That’s a hard one….but I could say ‘DeathCult’, ‘Black Will’ and ‘The Twin Moons’ are my favs, some of them are concept albums, the message is to express our feelings and point of view and to share our experiences upon various topics such as Death, Apocalypse, The Occult and the Spiritual paths, Love & Hate.”
How does the Greek music industry differ from the foreign one?
“I guess it does not although it’s a small market with its own special traits and definitely not friendly for the underground, we were lucky I guess and mindful choosing to sing a deal with a foreign label since day 1.”
What is the response of the Greek public to industrial-dark music in relation to foreign fans?
“There is a descent scene in Greece, we always had a good feedback and felt loved by the local scene thus the many shows given, the scene in central Europe and mostly Germany is big, our fans are mostly from USA ,Germany, Mexico nad many other countries aswell number wise.”
What was your best live show, so far, in terms of crowd and collaboration?
“Definitely our headline show in WGT 2018 (DE) a full packed venue with an amazing crowed, Osaka Japan was a night that can not be forgotten, our latest show in Barcelona was a total blast…”
Tell us about your collaboration with the great Christos Antoniou?
“We know each other since we were underaged….lol there is a mutual respect , Christos is a great musician and we were privileged to cooperate with him in various of our albums, he composed the orchestral/symphonic parts.”
Is there any goal you haven’t achieved yet?
“Sure…to gig around south & north America and a few more I wish to keep private.”
Do you believe that music has labels and borders?
“Borders specially nowdays no.. labels yes like it or not, my personal mindset about labelling music is..good one and bad one no matter where is it coming from ,who creates it and how its created.”
Do you think that music is a weapon to purify all this social decay we live in?
“It should be a means for purification against decay and the decadence of moral ethics we live in, music is a weapon ,music is one of the highest forms of expression, talent and therefore art, music is and should be the voice of us all, music is and should be a revolt and not a ‘fast food’ product to consume.”
Tell us your new musical steps.
“I have been ghosted by my home studio since last summer, stirring a few poisonous ideas…Thank you for the interview dear.”

Phoney Sea – Kostas Kyriakidis:
Falling Down’s lyrics
are about the human condition
an interview by Maria Stella Tsatsi
PHONEY SEA are:
James Barratt – guitar
Chris Dando – vocals
Kevin Hide – bass
Kostas Kyriakidis – drums
Hate turned our hearts into stone
And drowned the songs of summer
Lovers torn apart and lost in yesterday
In our dreams, we’re never gonna know, we’re never gonna have to
hide for our protection
With these lyrics, the song ‘Falling down’, begins and takes us on an exciting journey through aggressive sparks of music, dressed in dreamlike sections and serene colors, based on true events and explores loosely the themes of loss and human conditions.
The newcomer band, which name it’s Phoney Sea, just born and it’s a postmetal band from Birmingham of England.
Phoney Sea team is James Barratt/quitar, Chris Dando/Vocals, KevinHide/Bass and Kostas Kyriakidis/Drums.
It plays between elements of shoegaze and 70’s psychedelia, progressive and rock metal.
The rock band , set out to explore the fusion of conflicting and heterogeneous soundscapes and also discontinuous forms.
Phoney Sea, it΄s another musical miracle of the wellknown Kostas Kyriakidis, another one of his creations, full of light and inspiration as always.
Kostas Kyriakidis, from the time he remembers himself, began to deal with music, composition and his cult, the guitar. In 1984, he was a drummer for Art of Parties and released his first single with Creep Records.
Afterwards he was the drummer and member of Spitfire” and released ‘First Attack’ by E.M.I.
In 1990 he creates Raw Silk, he writes lyrics and music and records the drums for the also classic album ‘Silk Under the Skin’, which also is released by E.M.I.
His career is bright and upward, during his studies, he writes the music for the short animated film Dog (directed by Suzie Templeton) which awarded a BAFTA in 2001.
Ηe also, writes the music and lyrics and records for the second album of Raw Silk ‘The Borders of Light’ with a new line-up, consisting of Englishmen musicians.
In 2018 Raw Silk will perform live at Crow club in Athens, Greece.
Since 2008, Kostas Kyriakidis lives in Great Britain, as a musician and teacher untill now.
The great musician and founder of Phoney Sea, in a super exclusive
interview at Radio Highway Pirates, talked to us, about the band, himself, about Raw Silk, Spitfire and his upcoming plans.
What is the identity of Phoney Sea and what inspired you to give this name to the group?
“Phoney Sea are a new post-metal project from Birmingham UK. Being a new band our identity is still very much in the process of creation. Our music sets out to explore contrasting, atmospheric and dreamlike soundscapes, combining melodic and heavier elements. Our influences range from prog bands of the 70s such as Pink Floyd, Genesis, Rush, Jethro Tull to 20th century industrial and alternative metal, Sludge metal and Doom. The band’s name and its meaning is a kind of a secret that we wouldn’t like to give away that easily. Any guesses?”
Introduce us to the members of Phoney Sea.
“In Phoney Sea, I have the pleasure of collaborating again with Chris Dando (Awaken Eternity, Cloven Hoof) – vocalist and producer – and James Barratt on guitars. I had previously worked with Chris and James during 2017 and 2018 on Raw Silk’s second full length The Borders of Light and we had a great time back then. Kevin Hide of Awaken Eternity did the bass for us and he really nailed it. The recordings took place in Chris’ Vault Studio in Kidderminster between January and March 2023. The track was expertly mastered by Svante Forsbäck (Rammstein, Volbeat, Dragonforce, Sonata Arctica, Apocalyptica).”
What is the story behind ‘Falling Down’ and what kind of messages do you want to give?
“‘Falling Down’s lyrics are about the human condition. It’s written mainly in a stream of consciousness style and is something like a reverie or an internal dialogue on memories, childhood dreams, trauma, longing and hope. I don’t want to overanalyze or give a set explanation about my lyrics but rather let the listener create their own narrative based on their interpretation. I suppose some of the themes are related to the ‘The Borders of Light’ album and especially tracks such as Chimera, The Borders of Light and Solitude of Pain. I think people who like Falling Down will probably like those tracks as well and vice versa.”
How do you feel that the short animated film ‘Dog’, for which you wrote the music, was awarded a Bafta?
“It was a great collaboration. I really enjoyed the process of writing the music and I am really proud of it. There was a lot of creative discussion between me and the director Suzie Templeton and eventually the soundtrack emerged effortlessly and it felt very organic and natural. We had a very similar vision in terms of musical style and that also helped a lot. Again, I am very proud of having written the music for a film that has won such a prestigious prize.”
Tell me a few words about Raw Silk and your history with them?
“Like ‘First Attack’, ‘Silk Under the Skin’, was a breakthrough album for the Greek rock scene. That was owing, to a great extent, to the amazing work of tireless and passionate producer Kostas Kalimeris who recorded and mixed both of them. It is not a coincidence that both albums did so well. Through the years, Kostas has certainly been one of my favorite collaborators. The album also features great performances from many talented musicians. ‘Silk Under the Skin’, seems to have captured the vibe of the era and with the aid of a very youthful and stylish ‘Street Girl’ video clip seemed to have appealed to a global audience. I really enjoyed managing to complete the long-awaited release of Raw Silk’s second album ‘The Borders of Light’. The album was released independently worldwide and was received with enthusiasm by the vast majority of press and fans. It also received excellent reviews. Although Covid hit us hard and disrupted our plans, we are hoping that we will regroup very soon and start writing new material.”
What taste did your experience with Spitfire leaves you?
“Drumming on Spitfire ‘First Attack’ was a great experience and a big learning curve both musically and personally. Really enjoyed my drumming on that album and it is very rewarding when new Greek drummers tell me how it has also influenced their musical journey. There was a lot of passion and enthusiasm in that first line-up and I think this is reflected in the music as well. It’s great that the band is still active and I hope they find lasting success in the future.”
What are the upcoming plans of Phoney Sea?
“As a songwriter Phoney Sea has given me the freedom to experiment with more unconventional soundscapes than ever before. Its fair to say that this style of music reflects accurately where I am at the moment from a musical perspective. This is an independent project and it is for the long term especially after the very encouraging response that Falling Down has received so far. The plan is to release a second track before the end of 2023 and then possibly two or three more in the following year.”

Get a taste of heavy metal world star guys!
Are you ready?
Could you introduce us all the deadly bullets of the band?
“Hey Maria! I will try my best to introduce the band for you. Hell Hofer was born in a cave. Met him in 1996 when he was driving his Harley to school, dressed in black leather. The mightiest metal singer in the world. He likes to drink vodka and eat meat. Gustav Hector plays bass and is a gourmand too. Hes the best chef I ever met. He pounds his bass harder than anyone else. He’s into driving cabriolet cars and headbanging. Gustav Hjortsjö is pounding the drums and he loves to ride his motorcycle fast. One of the best drummers I ever heard. I am the guitarplayer (Hampus Klang) and I love Flying V guitars, Marshall amps, old buses and motorcycles. Im also a chickenbreeder, I have my own breed called Party Queens. We are right now searching for a fifth member since Alex left the band. A fast guitarplayer with attitude.”
What is the band’s ‘magic recipe’ for success?
“Never give up! Do everything as good as you can. Stand true to your roots and have a good time doing it.”
Tell us something about the music in Växjo. Do you think it was difficult to overcome all the obstacles in your way?
“Växjö has been a musical city since the 60-70s. Thin Lizzy, Ac/dc and Sex pistols played here. Växjö is located between the big cities so it was good for bands to play here at day offs and so on. Was many bands around when we were kids in the 90s. Easy to find rehersalrooms and it was demos coming out all the time here. The biggest obstacles was to find members that wanted to play this kind of music. It was so unpopular. A leather jacket wasn’t popular. We struggled on!”
What is the ultimate album for you, so far?
“If I had to pick one I would say ‘Back In Black’ by Ac/Dc. The sound is so good. The songs too. The performance. Everything!! A magical album. What a comeback after the legendary Bon Scott.”
Where does the band find the trigger and continue?
“I Have been doing this since I was 14, so this is normal life for me. We dont want to work at a factory. We rather cruise around in a bus playing for the fans and have a beer or two with them. Our souls are restless…”
Which one of your songs is more heart and soul to Βullet?
“‘Bang your head’ has a special meaning for us cause it was the first song we wrote together as a band. It says it all. It turned out so good and don’t have the normal verse chorus formula. It just clicked and we were so happy with it.”
How do you work when you create your songs?
“Most of the time it starts with a guitar and then try to add more that works to it and sing along with made up vocals and then find the words for it. It takes a lot of time. Most of the ideas is going in the trash bin.”
Which was the reason that you named your album ‘Dust To Gold’?
“We were working for a title that would fit the song and it took like a year until we found it. And that title for the song worked good as album title too. Simple as that.”
What caused this very album to take so long?
“We spent so much time in the rehearsalroom cause we wanted the album to be the best we ever done. I’m very happy with the result. One of our best albums. It just takes time to do it. We toured a lot after the ‘Storm of Blades’ album too. I think it’s hard to write music while on tour.”
What about your latest album ‘Really Dat’?
“We’re working on it! Have lots of demo ideas but only like 4-5 finished songs that is more or less done. We really hope that the new guy that will join us can give us new inputs and ideas to finish the songs.”
Could you tell me a few words about your ‘meeting’ with ΑC/DC at Ullevi in Gothenburg?
“It was a dream come true! Things are so big on that level. Our Bulletbus from 1964 looked like a small van compared to Ac/dc’s 40 mega huge trucks. Even that our bus is 12 meter long. We thought no one would show up to us. But 50.000 did. Magic night!!!”
How would you describe your experience of performing live in front of thousands of people in October 2009?
“It’s so big so it’s hard to take in. I can imagine the pressure on these artist. If it’s a great show it would me a dream if it’s bad it must be a nightmare. But for us it was so unbelievable great!! And Ac/dc was great too. It was summer, don’t think it was October.”
Tell me a band or a singer, who its a lifelong dream to work with.
“Don’t think I have to be honest. Would be fantastic to have guest vocals from Rob Halford, Dee Snider or Blackie Lawless. But I’m happy, just to turn on their records.”
Do you think that maintaining your classicism is what has kept you strong for so many years to move forward successfully?
“We just wanna play the music, we like and people can call it whatever they like. I think it’s timeless. Just good taste. A guitar should sound like a gibson thru a Marshall stack. Not like a computer.”
What is your knowledge that even a mediocre song becomes popular through a masterful music video?
“I have givin up what people like nowadays. Most of the stuff is so bad. You don’t even have to sing good anymore. A computer can fix it. It’s not rock n roll.”
How did you feel when Iron Maiden singer Bruce Dickinson, played the Bullet song ‘Turn it Up Loud’ on his radio program on BBC in 2006?
“That was unexpected and we got very happy about it. ‘Turn it up loud’ is a favorite. Very simple but good song. Works live every time. Have been Iron Maiden fans for a long long time. One of the best singers around. We will go see them this weekend at Sweden rock festival.”
What are your impressions from your concert in Athens in Autumn 2019 at Crow Club?
“It was great!! Lots of headbangers. First time for us in Greece too. Love to come back!! Remember, we got like a mountain of meet served on paper at the restaurants. Never seen that before. We bought a coffee on the street and got some vodka shots for free. That would never happen in Sweden.”
Could you share with us your next live shows and your future plans?
“The plan is to find a new guitarplayer. Will try out a new guy soon. We have some festivals in Sweden and Germany. Some ideas for upcoming tours too. And of course finish the songwriting, for the new yet untitled album and crush the world with out Heavy Metal once again. Hopefully come back to Greece soon too!!! Stay wild forever!!!”
MALICE IN EDEN
an American hard rock newcomer
an interview by
Maria Stella Tsatsi
MALICE IN EDEN are:
Barak Alexander Seguin – vocals
Adrian Aerostone – lead guitars
Chris Jordan – drums
Jeff Simmons – bass
MALICE IN EDEN – JEFF SIMMONS
Since the beginning of time there was Eden, then came the Malice?
I don’t know…
I only know one thing, about Malice in Eden.
Four rock’n’roll fires, spreading from Austin/Texas in 2021 and slowly to the whole world, in order to thrill us and addict us forever.
Their music combines modern rock and often has traces of metal elements, the intense splashes of guitars in the background, is one of the parts that makes them so unique, a velvety, erotic voice with a strong rock tone spills into the room, under the dynamic sound of the bass, making the audience applaud over and over again.
‘Now you Know’, ‘Diamond Bright’, ‘Chains’ and ‘Trance Electric’ are their fabulous and successful songs.
The massive self-titled debut-EP is available on all streaming platforms, which have made a splash at their live shows.
So, let’s welcome, all the Malice in Eden team:
Barak Alexander Seguin on vocals, Chris Jordan drums, Jeff Simmons bass and Adrian Arostone guitar.
Through his super exclusive interview to radio highway pirates Jeff Simons talked to us about Malice in Eden, music, their ideal singles, their cooperations and their upcoming plans.
How was Malice in Eden born?
“Chris, Adrian & I started playing together in 2020 with rebooting the band named South Bound Saints in Austin, Texas. This was one of Chris Jordans (drums) previous bands. Then Pandemic hit, that band fell apart and the three of us decided to start a new band. Sometime in 2021 we started writing music while looking for a singer. We had multiple ads out all over Texas and landed Barak Alex Seguin as our Vocalist Sept 2021. December 2021 we were in the studio recording. March 2022 our debut EP was released, March 31, 2022, was the first Malice in Eden show.”
Where was your first show?
“It was at a place called COME & TAKE IT, LIVE in Austin, TX”
How did the name of the band come about?
“It took a while because we were so focused on defining our writing. We were a three-piece band at the time. Chris our drummer came up with the name, we all agreed it fit what we were doing! The name is based on good & evil, right and wrong. We are always faced with things like that, you know.”
Introduce us the rest of the gang
“Sure! the band is – Vocals: Barak Alexander Seguin, Lead Guitars: Adrian Aerostone, Drums: Chris Jordan, Bass: Jeff Simmons”
Is there any Malice in your Eden?
“That’s a good one! overall were pretty chill together & get along very well. The only ‘malice’ you could say is when we are arranging new music. We all have ideas for how we want it to work, but in the end our chemistry works very well together. We have accomplished a lot as a new band. So, there is no malice.”
Do you believe that the rock element, has always been into you?
“Yes, we all bring different styles and ideas of rock that influenced all of us. Our music represents that very well.”
What were the influences and the basis on which you were walking?
“Oh, that’s a big one! Hard to list them all if you know what I mean. Zeppelin, LA Guns, Iron Maiden, etc. We could list a whole lot more!”
Does the guitar’s commanding element take us to a journey, through each of your songs?
“Great question! Yes, the guitar in our sound is very much in front and prominent. Very often the lyric content or theme of each song we have blends and attaches very well with the music that we create.”
Do you think it’s difficult or easy mixing rock and metal in one?
“Rock and Metal can be difficult because we (like other bands) are trying to stand out and sound unique. But the four of us together when we’re writing, mixing and performing our sound is very distinct and it does stand out from other bands, I think. We don’t want to be just another band on the scene. We want to be THAT band on the scene.”
By what criteria do you select your songs?
“We share ideas a lot. Our selection is very intricate and detail oriented. We all contribute and individually present new ideas or riffs. Then we work on it, some songs get scrapped others are written quickly. It just depends on the idea. The music presented for new ideas can be slow and melodic or fast and pounding, I think that I say a lot about what is going on in our life at the moment individually.”
Could you tell me two of your songs that your fans adore?
“Trance Electric from our EP has captured fans attention, it’s gritty and driving with a catchy hook of ‘Summon the devil you know’. The other song is Benevolent Abyss, we recently just recorded it and it will be released soon. It’s a deep song for the band, and I think that fans pick up on that. So, live it goes over very well.”
Tell me a few words about your new song, and your cooperation
“So, one of the new songs that I just spoke about, the lyric content is about addiction (to anything), the music was present by our guitarist Adrian. No date yet. Likely will be released on our LP later. That one was a long one to record and mix because of how special it is if you know what I mean.”
What means music for you in one word?
“LIFE. Because without music life would not be complete. I saw a comment once made from an Iron Maiden fan. It said: ‘Iron Maiden is my religion’. That is great because, as musicians and music fans some of the greatest music is like that, it is our religion!”
Describe me the first time, you were on stage live and how did you feel (as a band)
“Yeah, so Malice in Eden‘s first show was March 31st 2022. We were unknown, but there was actually a lot of hype happening before this show about, who we were. In fact the bill that we were on. We were the very first band to play, so we were on the early time slot, so we weren’t really sure, how the evening was going to go, because we were playing so early, and actually to our surprise there was a great crowd and huge turnout, so there was a lot of people, that actually wanted to see us. It was a great experience for our first show.”
Tell me a few words about your recently live events
“Epic and Energetic! The last show was great! Our last show on April 29 we opened for Quiet Riot. The show was great, we had fans show up and got new fans too! Great response from the crowd there. The guys from Quiet Riot were very cool to hang out with, much respect for them.”
What are your impressions at your concert at Cedar Park?
“This was the Quiet Riot show. The crowd was fantastic, the people didn’t know who we were, got into our music a lot! The fans that came to see us were all wearing Malice in Eden shirts and rocked. It was just that while we were playing, we could see them. After the show, we were meeting them and new fans at our merchandise booth, they were wearing our band t-shirts and cheering and rocking. It was a good time!”
Do you believe that diamonds are always bright?
“Diamond Bright was our first single and video we released. The song deals with being lured into something very shinny and bright. But in the end, it was a trap and does not end well. It is based on the poem of the spider and the fly, creepy ha ha! Bright is based on who is looking at the diamond. What is bright to me is not the same as what is bright to you or someone else.”
Are there any lyrics in any of your songs that reflect you? (As a band and as jeff)?
“Good question. We have a song called ‘Now you Know’, talks about what someone would do for another. Thats is one that is relatable!”
What are your plans for your near future?
“Currently, the band is booked through August. We are going to be recording and releasing more music. We just recently recorded new music and will be releasing a new single very soon called ‘WHAT IS NEXT’. In fact, this weekend making a new video for the single. Lots happening for us! It is a hard-driving song. It is great! The next shows are in Texas. Were ready to keep rocking live!” Maria Stella Tsatsi

What comes into your mind when you are listening punk music?
Certainly not everyone likes it, but surely many of us!
It is particularly, a little bit unusual and has selective listeners.
However, when punk music is led by a band like ‘Die Suicides‘, then things change and take another color and shape.
‘Die Suicides‘ is one of almost Germany’s first punk bands that was found in 1977, with many fanatical fans, that loved this kind of music because of them!
Munich has ‘Τhe Pack’ and Erlangen has ‘Die Suicides‘.
‘Βier und Zigaretten’, ‘Mich packt der Wahn’, ‘Arbeitsscheu und dauerblau’ etc., were some of their greatest hits that we adore to listen to.
Tilo Heider/ drums, Andy Dorn and Bastl Siegl /Bass, Dirk N. Steuerlein guitar/vocals and Mike Neun/vocals.
Τhey are the punk drivers of this crazy punk group, would you like to get on board?
Mike Neun, the superstar of the band is not only the en spoke singer of the band, but he is also a successful director, writer and also starred in some of his short films.
The singer, has also his own label, called ‘Shock Film Corporation Erlangen’.
Many of his great short films such as ‘Μampf’, The Movie (2018), ‘The footballkillers’ (2013), ‘Strickliesel’ – Der Film (2014), ‘Müllcolm X – Die seltsamen Abenteuer des Müllmannes Mario’ (2020) etc.
‘Die Suicides‘, will continue to drive us to their punk delirium music, as long as we are still alive.

“‘Mampf’, for example, is a cheap remake of Marco Ferrari’s ‘The Big Dinner’!

“COVID? Well, I saw it as a creative silent period. And of course I survived… Not all my friends did…”
