'The New Dark Ages'
with their new single
Finnish hard rockers Marco Luponero & The Loud Ones return with the second single from their upcoming debut album.
"I would describe "The New Dark Ages" as a straightforward punk rock banger with a strong message", says Marco. "I wrote it while reflecting on the current state of the world."
In spirit of the track's title, the band collaborated with Frank Berger of folk music act Ratatosk, who brought some true medieval flair to the song with the help of a hurdy-gurdy.
"It's a fascinating instrument. It has a massive sound, at times very reminiscent of a bag pipe".
The hurdy-gurdy has a rich history and is associated with several different parts of the world, perfectly fitting for Marco's original idea.
"I knew I wanted the song to have some Old Norse flair, but I also wanted the sound to resonate with other cultures, because that's what I was after lyrically, as well. The basic message is that no matter who we are and where we're from, one thing is for sure: If we succumb to ignorance and fundamentalism, we're on a dark path."
Marco Luponero & The Loud Ones' debut album "Life & Death" is out March 4th.

Finnish melodic death metal band Anima Hereticae has released a 12 minute long music video short film from
the song 'Constellation Of Capricorn'.
The released video is shot for the final song of the debut EP and
it is the band's second video.
The band's music is a mixture of melancholic and mystic death metal.
The Bands song themes are inspired by the northern nature and it's mysthicisma and the new video explores this concept even further.
"We have had an idea of a video with an apocalyptic setup for quite a while. It was exciting to see how someone outside the band would see our vision. It was pretty clear from the very beginning that the producers Atte Santala & Jenna Wáthen would be able to interperent our band's theme to the apocalyptic setting. It was a real acid test for our concept. It seems that our music and themes can be visualized beyond vikings, castles and mountains. To the future, that is." The band describes the process.

of the modern world
with "Inevitable" the brand-new third single taken from the upcoming MESENTERY album "Soulfucker" drops today, on January 27, 2022.
The rough driving and energetic track shows a world that has sealed its fate without hope for redemption and in the impressively dystopian music video, the sinister lyrics become a brutal reality.
The clip, produced with the team of VideoProduktionsHaus, presents the collapse of human existence in angrily brute visuals.
Around the center-performing band, various horror scenarios of interpersonal madness play out in an end-time-like morbid setting in numerous honeycomb-like stacked padded rooms.
With their mixture of Death Metal, Thrash as well as other Extreme Metal influences, the musicians from the Hamburg area inject fresh life into their band.
Between hard old-school riffs, brutal grooves and harmonious melody peaks, diabolic suspense is built up. "Soulfucker", to be released on 02/11/2022, via Dr. Music Records, has been recorded at the legendary Chameleon Recording Studio Hamburg, featuring mastermind Marcel Braun on vocals, guitar and bass and Eryc Botz on drums.
Produced by Eike O. Freese (Helloween, Alice Cooper, Heaven Shall Burn), the album is defined by anger and pain about the misbehavior of society.
This manifests itself, especially in the title theme, which is based on the unsparing biography "Seelenficker", where the author using the pseudonym Natascha traces her relentless, unprettified time on drug-related prostitution and as a crystal meth addict.
This disturbing motif also matches well with the merciless "Inevitable" music video and its raging Death Metal mace.

Celebrates 20 Years
With Special Release
Finland's melodic death metallers Re-Armed has released today a new EP celebrating its 20th anniversary, titled "XX".
The EP contains two new songs, one demo song "Morrow" (first demo - released originally 2002) that is fully re-produced, re-recorded, re-armed and renamed as "Tomorrow", one acoustic version from previous album's "Beyond the Horizon" track and two special versions from previously released songs "Evolve Cycle" as arcade version and "Ode to Life" as orchestral version - all these versions are released with videos and are available on YouTube.
The EP is available on all the major streaming platforms.
The band comments on the special release:
"We wanted to put together a somewhat special release that includes something new, but also echoes from the past. The new and the latest single 'Tomorrow' from the release is great example of that. The track was originally released under the name of 'Morrow' in 2002 as first demo for the band. It was more than exciting to shake its foundations after all these years and make it much better song. Now you can actually feel and hear its strong emotional charge, that's been hidden in that shitty demo version, heh. Of course, it could have been way more easier to pick up some songs from all the previous releases and make just some kind of collection album, but it sounded already in the beginning so damn boring idea. And since coronavirus came and shuffled the pack with our previous album promotion tours etc. - it basically cancelled most of our booked shows at that time. What else we do have than time to make some new music? Staying put and waiting for some virus to disappear would have been pure waste of time. Massive thanks goes to our partners in crime, all these guys and girls who helped us to put this bungle together. We shared our vision to them and asked help here and there, especially this happened with the special track versions – The end result is great and special indeed. Enjoy!"
tracklist:
1. As the Stars Align
2. Monoeyes
3. Beyond the Horizon (acoustic version)
4. Tomorrow
5. Ode to Life (symphonic version)
6. Evolve Cycle (arcade version)

Juhana Korkka Heinonen - Bass and backup Vocals
Jouni Matilainen - Lead vocals
