Eisige Venen is back with their most chilling release yet.
‘The Mourning Frost‘, the band’s latest EP under Sodeh Records/Metal Inc., is a brutal descent into their signature icy soundscape, delivering relentless riffs, haunting melodies, and a melancholic intensity that lingers long after the final note.
Written over two years, ‘The Mourning Frost‘ picks up where ‘Ghosts of Yesterday‘ left off, plunging listeners into a frozen abyss of epic chord progressions and emotionally charged guitar work.
With Stephen Hegarty’s expert production at Lacerate Studios, every track is sculpted into a towering wall of sound that blends unrelenting aggression with eerie beauty.
The powerhouse trio of Curtis Fitzpatrick, Chris Brandon, and Marc Williams return to lead the charge, reinforcing Eisige Venen’s place in the metal landscape.
Adding to the sonic devastation, Richard Wilson of Mourning Scars makes a guest appearance on ‘Seaforged‘, a track that seethes with raw intensity.
Featuring two brand-new songs alongside fan-favorite singles from 2024, ‘The Mourning Frost‘ is both a gift to longtime followers and a gateway for new fans to experience the band’s signature sound.
Cold, crushing, and unforgettable—this is Eisige Venen at their most ferocious.
In January 2025 Eisige Venen had released already single ‘The Eternal Parade‘.
This chilling track takes listeners on a mesmerizing journey through death, despair, and the unrelenting cycles of suffering.
With raw, haunting lyrics and evocative imagery of winter shadows and the natural world, the song crafts a poignant meditation on the delicate balance between life and death, memory and oblivion.
The eerie yet captivating soundscape lingers long after the final note, making it a perfect addition to playlists that revel in introspection, emotional depth, and the beauty of the macabre.
Eisige Venen (pronounced ei-se-ge ven-en) is a dark melodic metal project founded in 2020 by guitarist/keyboardist Marc Williams (Ba’alzamon, Fallen Empire, Frostcrown).
Joined by vocalist Curtis Fitzpatrick (Ba’alzamon, Locust Swarm) and bassist Chris Brandon (Gokseong, Dead Deceased, Anger Overdose) in 2023, the trio brings a cold, melancholic sound infused with heavy synths, haunting melodies, and a blackened touch.
Williams, inspired by his years in Germany, released the debut single ‘A Frigid Emptiness‘ in 2021.
With Brandon and Fitzpatrick onboard, the group launched their first album, ‘Ghosts of Yesterday‘, in 2023—despite working entirely remotely across the USA and South Korea.
The album earned praise from publications like Occult Metal Zine and Hellfire Magazin, who likened their atmospheric and melodic style to bands such as Amon Amarth, Insomnium, and Agathodaimon.
Eisige Venen has since collaborated with artists like Melishah (Tenebris Intus) and director Neil Gorz (Death Springs Eternal music video).
They’ve signed with Metal Incorporated and Sodeh Records and are endorsed by Black Harbor Sound and Rattlesnake Cables.

Eisige Venen explores lost love and hope in dynamic new single ‘Game of Man’.
‘Game of Man’ captures the bittersweet essence of lost hope and love, all while maintaining an upbeat tempo.
It reflects the universal struggle of trying to improve ourselves, often in vain.
The song also touches on the pain of loving the wrong person, a pain that can cloud our entire outlook on life.
Yet, amidst the upbeat rhythm, there’s a deeper message about the importance of self-forgiveness and resilience.
“The lyrics remind us that despite the setbacks, life goes on, and we have the power to reclaim our happiness. Ultimately, it suggests that letting time heal and allowing those who’ve hurt us to move on might be the best way forward.”
Eisige Venen emerged as a solo metal project initiated by guitarist and keyboardist Marc Williams.
The addition of bassist Christopher Brandon and vocalist Curtis Fitzpatrick marked a pivotal moment, solidifying the trio and elevating their sonic landscape.
Together, they craft a distinctive form of atmospheric extreme metal that defies traditional genre boundaries.
The culmination of their collaborative efforts materialized with the release of Eisige Venen’s inaugural full-length album, ‘Ghosts of Yesterday’.
The album’s success garnered endorsements from notable entities such as Black Harbor Sound, Dirtbag Clothing, and Rattlesnake Cables.
Notably, Eisige Venen found a place in the web series ‘The Sorrow’, directed by Neil Gorz, with plans to return for its sequel.
Undeterred, the band relentlessly strives to share their unparalleled sound with a broader audience.
Fans can anticipate more of Eisige Venen’s signature blend of melancholy, raw emotion, and wintry solitude in their forthcoming releases.
