The new album from Dead Born Vision, ‘Moving Through’, is a natural progression from their previous two EPs, ‘Dead Born Vision’ (2018) and ‘Reborn to Reign’ (2022).
With revamped songwriting, the songs have been refined to their best versions yet.
Alongside the straightforward Death/Thrash metal sound, the subtle lyrics invite deep reflection.
The cover features the Dead Born Vision mascot, ‘Helvetor’, symbolizing the idea of breaking through one’s own barriers, as people are often trapped in their own perspectives.
‘Don’t Break Your Neck’:
“The daily fight against injustice and oppression.”
‘Loud and Strong’:
“A track about unity and solidarity. It offers a perfect first impression of the album ‘Moving Through’, reminding us of the power of coming together.”
‘I Saw Them Die’:
“Our COVID-19 song, created during the lockdown.”
‘Religion’:
“Religions are often blamed for many of the world’s problems. This song explores how they can be restrictive for an individual.”
‘Broken Life’:
“From the perspective of someone who is at rock bottom and feels lost.”
‘I Lose Control’:
“A song about making it clear to someone on the verge of losing it that you’ve had enough.”
‘Inside Your Head’:
“The internal struggle between good and evil within one’s own mind.”
‘Struggling for Life’:
“Inspired by the Beirut port explosion on August 4, 2020.”
‘Crack a Cold One’:
“About enjoying a beer and having a good time together.”
Dead Born Vision was formed in 2017 from the ashes of Braindead, a band that rocked European stages from 1995 to 2015.
Nicole (guitar) and David (vocals) played over 100 shows with Braindead in Switzerland, Germany, France and Poland, sharing the stage with bands like Gurd, Thanatos and Testament.
After Braindead disbanded, Stefan (drums), a longtime friend and supporter of the band, joined Nicole and David to continue their musical journey.
In 2017, Annette (guitar) joined the group, and Beat Brack came on board as the bassist.
Beat transitioned to video production in 2021, with Dominik Plein taking over on bass until 2022.
During this time, Dead Born Vision released two EPs and performed shows in Switzerland and Germany.
In 2023, Tom, a friend of David, joined as the new bassist.
Shortly before completing the album ‘Moving Through’, Annette left the band for personal reasons but remains involved, as she appears on the album and in the already filmed video clips.
Stefan Hunter took over as the second guitarist in March 2024.
Musically, Dead Born Vision delivers a blend of death and thrash metal with 90s influences.
Their songs are recorded in David’s own studio, with reamping, mixing and mastering handled by Christoph Brandes at Iguana Studio in Freiburg, Germany.
The band’s debut album will be released on September 5, 2024, through Powerblast Records, featuring eight tracks that showcase the full range of Dead Born Vision’s sound.
