Much-rated Brit newcomers COBER MOUTH continue their swift ascent armed with their towering new single and video, ‘STERIDE‘.
The trio’s last release, ‘Untethered‘, garnered strong critical acclaim with Alyx Holcombe championing the band with a Track of the Week award on BBC Radio One’s Introducing Rock.
Metal Hammer also widely lauded the rising metalcorers, in addition to Alex Baker placing the band on heavy rotation for Kerrang! Fresh Blood.
As well as racking up extensive praise from industry tastemakers, COBER MOUTH have also amassed a hearty live reputation after undertaking a raft of sold-out shows with the likes of Heart of a Coward and Osiah.
COBER MOUTH are now ready for their next chapter in the shape of their brutal new single, ‘STERIDE‘.
The track is already turning heads and garnering massive support – it’s a groove laden, uncompromising slab of biting nu-metalcore that is devastatingly ferocious and completely absorbing.
Adam Jones from the band remarks:
“’STERIDE’ emerged from months of bottled aggression, unleashed in a rage-fuelled night of writing. It reflects my frustration with those who squander their potential, gambling on fate instead of seizing opportunities. Possessed by anger, I created a menacing sound and scolding lyrics to expose the fear of wasted potential and to empower those who fight for change. The message and essence of STERIDE is that destiny is meaningless without the will to act.”

High-flying Brit quartet, COBER MOUTH, charge onwards with their poignant new single and video, ‘Open! Shut…’.
The track features a captivating collaboration with acclaimed British rapper, Blue Saint.
The single is lifted from the band’s imminent EP, ‘Untethered’.
COBER MOUTH are fast gaining a stellar reputation for delivering pounding riffs and full-throttle vocals with BBC Radio One Introducing Rock awarding their last single, ‘Beneath The Hydrogen’, as Track of the Week.
Kerrang! Radio also placed the song into rotation, and Metal Hammer included the video as part of their celebrated Best New Metal Songs feature.
Open to pushing boundaries however, COBER MOUTH, with their new single, have created a melodic cut that draws more towards hip hop than it does nu-metalcore.
Vocalist Adam Jones discusses the motivation behind the song:
“Musing on isolation and hope, ‘Open! Shut…’ delves into themes of seclusion, self-violence, and the quest for redemption. The song has evocative lyrics and a powerful narrative, and it offers a deeply personal and introspective journey, resonating with those searching for hope in darkness.”
The road for COBER MOUTH has been a marked one.
The Bristol riff slingers arrived in 2019, and within months of their live debut, the band headlined a sold out show at the Thekla in Bristol and battled their way to the final of Bloodstock M2TM and MicroDog competitions.
The release of their self-titled debut album, which landed last year, elevated the band to new heights with the record accumulating impressive streaming numbers.
