Through years of embracing honesty and channeling hardships into expression, alternative rock band To Kill Achilles present their next chapter ‘Recovery’ out now worldwide via Arising Empire.
To introduce this brand new milestone, the band released the music video for ‘No Love Is A Crime’!
“At no point should who you fall in love with be a factor in the judgement of your character. No love is a crime.”
Comprising 11 songs, the essence of ‘Recovery’ is conveyed through heartfelt lyrics that vividly portray genuine life encounters, matched with the familiar intensity we anticipate.
The musical composition blends elements of strength, melancholy, optimism, and elegance, featuring impactful choruses that beckon for inclusion and poignant narratives that inspire a path toward positivity.
“Recovery … why recovery … why recovery … why recovery … well, because the only way out is to get better? We can’t live here any more. The light that peers through the crack in the door is a message. It’s time to feel grateful for what we have and to realise, the time we spend here is precious and there’s a beautiful world outside those four walls, we just need to be brave enough to open the door.”
‘Recovery’ is now available as CD and limited colored vinyl, together with special merch options at the band and Arising Empire Shop.

Through years of embracing honesty and channeling hardships into expression, alternative rock band To Kill Achilles begin their next chapter, ‘Recovery’, due for release on August 11th via Arising Empire.
Today, the band have released their emotional new track ‘The Cave’ from this new upcoming milestone.
“It’s ok to not be ready, just know one day you will be.”
Consisting of 11 tracks, the sound of ‘Recovery’ is delivered through sincere lyrics depicting real-life experiences with the same ferocity we’ve come to expect.
The music is a mixture of aggression, sadness, hope, and beauty, with soaring choruses that beg for inclusion and tear-jerking storytelling that promotes the journey toward positivity.
“This record is the antithesis of the last, for far too long we’ve told the story of mental degradation without hope. Becoming completely drained repeating the same lines of how it hurts to be here, Recovery deals with courage, control, acceptance and ultimately the end goal that anyone in this circumstance seeks… the other side. This record is the journey of getting better, taking control of your life and the experiences around you.”

The band has released their new music video off the track ‘Chemical Counterpart’ from this new upcoming milestone, ‘Recovery’.
“I remember when I used to feel, but now the grey consumes the day. And it’s not like I’m in pain, I just don’t remember how to care, I think I lost my heart, to a chemical counterpart and how I crave a restart, before this tears me apart.”

TO KILL ACHILLES are a 5-piece alternative rock band from Dundee, Scotland.
Having recently signed to Arising Empire, the band are set to release their new full-length album in early 2021 with a touring schedule to follow.
Taking lyrical inspiration from personal life experiences and musical influence from a wide variety of alternative genres has allowed them to create a piece of art which fully encapsulates the bands message –
“we only exist when we exist together.”
The band have extensively toured across the UK, the majority of Europe and Russia with bands such as WE CAME AS ROMANS, COUNTERPARTS, WHILE SHE SLEEPS, I KILLED THE PROM QUEEN, HEART IN HAND, BETRAYING THE MARTYRS and many more.
In the hope to spread their message to as many individuals as possible, they plan to continue dominating their ever growing European market whilst reaching new territories further afield, pouring their heart and soul into every performance, on and off stage.
“This record is the story of a man who wakes up on his twenty fifth birthday and the events that happen throughout the course of a year that lead him to take his own life exactly one year on to the date. Each song represents a month in his life (with the exception of two moments of reflection). In each of the songs we tell a story that a member of the band had to go through over the last few years. Every song is real and is a portrayal of how we felt in that moment. The message of the record is to highlight that these events can happen, that people can be dealing with things without anyone else being aware. In our lives, we were lucky because we have the support network of our incredible friends and families, but in the case of our character, he does not. The record is a statement which shows that without support, even the strongest of people can be driven to contemplate taking their own lives. It’s so important to talk, it’s so important to find the people in life that you can share your lowest moments with because no one can be expected to go through that alone. Our character deals with alcoholism, a lack of direction or passion in life, the fear of growing older and losing yourself, the isolation felt by following a creative career, the idea that when you die no one will remember you, the onset of anxiety and the shame you feel about trying to tell people you’re not ok. The pressure you put on a partner when you’re not in the right headspace, the fear of showing your emotions as a male incase you’re seen as weak, the fear of death, the moment that suicide enters your mind as an escape and the loss of a parent. A lot of these things will happen in our lifetime and it’s important to know that if they do, there’s people out there who will help you through it. Something To Remember Me By is our characters suicide note, explaining why he felt he must walk that path, in a way it’s all of ours too as we all went through these things, we just had the people there to stop it from being our eventuality. The message we try to promote is that these things are normal, these feelings are normal and if you recognise any behaviour we speak of in anyone close to you, then it’s your responsibility to be the first to speak up. A conversation can save a life, don’t let anyone end up the way our character does. In a way this record is also the solution to the problems that we speak about, we poured our emotions into this, and after we’re gone, it’ll still be there, reminding people that we once existed and that we once felt as strongly as we do. It’s just something to leave behind, a memento, a token, or just something to remember me by”
