JSHELL
will release single
'Delusions'
After originally introducing himself to the world
with his vibrant debut single 'Haunted' earlier this year,
New York City-based multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter
and Tater Mansion Tunes recording artist JSHELL
now looks to showcase the release of his diverse audio-visual album
'In My Head' with the explosive new offering 'Delusions'.
Collaborating with vocalist Sofie Jane for the release,
'Delusions' makes for an incredibly fun and impactful listen.
Jam-packed with broad and euphoric energy, killer hooks,
and a soaring atmosphere throughout,
JSHELL is kicking his career off in jubilant style here.
Speaking about 'Delusions', JSHELL said:
"Delusions' is about someone who is experiencing self-doubt and believes that the world is passing them by. The irony is that by putting these thoughts into a rocking track, the narrator is coming out ahead and actually accomplishing something that many peers cannot do.'
JSHELL's new album 'In My Head'
also features special guest appearances
from some of the best musicians in the business,
including the incomparable Steve Hackett
(former lead guitarist of Genesis
and a pioneer of progressive rock in his own right),
Katie Jacoby
(violinist extraordinaire and co-leader of the orchestra for The Who),
Jake Cinninger (guitar virtuoso of jam band titans Umphrey's McGee)
and Scott Metzger (another guitar virtuoso
of jam band titans Joe Russo's Almost Dead and Wolf!).

When an equally rough and pally end-time bunch brushes
'DEAD POP SEX ACTION‘ as a musical style on its skull,
embroidered Rock'n'Roll flag, it's time for a collective uproar.
And if those passionate tattoo maniacs in their ratty rags
also look as seriously determined as the LORDS OF SALEM ,
then of course, you‘ve got to pump it up a whole lot louder.
In the middle of the tasteless, barren no-man's-land
of the diluted mainstream,
the charismatic four-piece strikes in the scene.
LORDS OF SALEM let a massively invigorating overdose
of the spark spraying 80s HARD ROCK flare up out of the amplifiers
with the EP "Hell Over Salem".
Electrifying songs come to life with a beguiling dark-occult touch.
Lascivious, tongue-in-cheek songs that could not possibly be
firmer, juicier and more compelling.
The EP "Hell Over Salem" was officially published on October 31. 2018.
On January 11th, 2019, LORDS OF SALEM presented
their official music video for the title song of the EP.
The video was produced
by bass player Marple's own production company FabrikDrei / Marplepixx. Filmed by Miguel.
The cut was arranged by PADI of Nightfall Entertainment,
a close friend of the troupe.
The casual thoroughbred rockers are saying about:
"We do not need big, inflated words to say anything about it. What we want to convey as a band is, after all, the good old spirit of eternal Rock'n'Roll, and that with an explicit 'All Night and Party' factor!"

'I'm So Goth'
As a marketing strategy, fraudulent cunning fashion rockers,
pseudo-rebellious leatherjacket-weekend-wearers,
unspeakable trend-clowns and other little softener-boys
are tearing holes in their new jeans, like to call
that kind of appearance and music-making 'vintage'
and thus are queuing up rather pettily into an artificial genre zeitgeist.
However with the four incurably decibel-addicted LORDS OF SALEM,
it's just pure genuineness, deepest conviction
and ultimately haunting reality.
The timeless LA sound
of the conspired heap around exceptional singer Postel
dances ominously rapt,
but deliciously frisky on a damn stable foundation
that rivets the enormously powerful formation of guitar riffs
that drive straight into the bones,
hellishly hot with greedy pumping power drumming.
A dash of Danzig, a thick dose of Kiss,
a poisonous injection of Mötley Crüe and a thick splash of Lordi
refines the efficient formula.
The interesting band cross references are one thing,
the other is the profound individuality of the crisp,
yet also atmospheric material of LORDS OF SALEM.
Four intuitively-unerringly composed, enthusiastically performed
and magically catchy bitchin‘ tracks are being pounded into your ears,
which you won‘t forget.
The songs of the 2018 published EP "Hell Over Salem"
were powerfully produced by grandmaster Achim Köhler,
whose work has also convinced such acts as Sinner, Brainstorm,
Symphorce, Primal Fear, Sodom, Sonic Syndicate,
Headhunter etc. (Markus Eck)

'The Ballads VI'
Ballads play a very special role in the history of rock music.
Firstly:
They document the emotional side of the genre and show
that behind (almost) every rocker`s hard chest beats a soft heart.
Secondly:
Those quieter songs are being played by radio stations
without rock-affinity – and are loved by listeners
for their emotional depth.
And thirdly:
In an increasingly hectic world, ballads offer brief moments of pause,
of reflection on the essential things in life.
So it`s no wonder that the ballad compilations
of the Axel Rudi Pell Band are an absolute success.
Over 250,000 copies have been sold
of ‘The Ballads I’ (1993) to ‘The Ballads V’ (2017) alone.
And nine (!) of the current Top-10 most streamed Pell songs on Spotify
are ballads!
More than enough reason therefore,
why fans of the Bochum guitarist and songwriter regularly
push for a continuation of this release series.
Successfully:
On April 21, 2023 ‘The Ballads VI’ will be released on CD,
double vinyl LP and as digital download via Steamhammer/SPV.
And – as expected – the release will come with a few small surprises.
Not only is ‘The Ballads VI’ the latest edition
of the popular ARP ‘The Ballads’ series,
but also the direct successor of the studio album ‘Lost XXIII’,
which managed to rank 2nd in German sales charts in April 2022.

'The Ballads VI'
‘The Ballads VI’ comes with a total of 13 ballads “made by ARP”.
Five of them are brand new recordings,
including two remarkable cover songs:
‘Diamonds And Rust’, a classic by American folk icon Joan Baez,
which gains a new topicality with Axel Rudi Pell.
Pell explains:
“As is well known, there is already a Judas Priest version of ‘Diamonds And Rust’, which of course has a much harsher sound, and a version by Blackmore`s Night with a medieval flair. My goal was kind of a middle ground between the two folky versions and the metal Priest adaptation. In my opinion, our version has that typical ARP flair.”
The same goes for ‘Dust In The Wind’,
the biggest hit of American rock band Kansas.
Axel Rudi Pell makes the song shine with a particularly intimate air:
“We deliberately left out the drums to make the song softer and calmer. Our arrangement only features guitar, keyboards and vocals.”
ARP`s three original new ballads consist of two instrumental numbers, ‘Revelations’ and ‘Hidden Secrets’, and the vocal track ‘Morning Star’,
which was originally meant as a candidate for the studio album
announced for 2024.
Pell comments:
“Our record company thinks it`s such a great song that we decided to release it early for ‘The Ballads VI’. I`m especially proud of the guitar solo in the outro. It`s a legit ‘one-take’ that was taken unchanged from the demo.”

The other songs on ‘The Ballads VI’
are the quiet moments of the four previous studio albums:
‘Beyond The Light’ comes from ‘Knights Call’ (2018),
the song ‘As Blind As A Fool Can Be’ from ‘Sign Of The Times’ (2020).
The tracks ‘She`s A Lady’, ‘I Put A Spell On You’
and the Tony Carey cover ‘Room With A View’ previously refined
‘Diamonds Unlocked II’ (2021),
while ‘Gone With The Wind’, ‘Fly With Me’
and the Lockdown single ‘Quarantine 1’
were featured on ARP’s current opus ‘Lost XXIII’ (2022).
In view of the new ballads compilation,
Axel Rudi Pell sums up his growth as a songwriter and musician:
“Looking back, there is not a single ballad during the almost 35 years of my solo career that I need to be ashamed of, quite the contrary: some of them are still among my favourite songs today. At the same time, however, I have evolved as a composer. All that experience means you automatically become more mature and accomplished, a fact that ‘The Ballads VI’ undoubtedly shows. The sound of my new albums, too, is much better than at the start of my solo career in the late eighties. And of course ‘The Ballads VI’ benefits from this as well!"

'Death Awaits'
Resolve returned with their new single ‘Death Awaits'.
A track that is both positive & beautifully brutal all at the same time.
It follows the band's debut album »Between Me and The Machine«
and sets out a new era for Resolve
with a relentless touring schedule ahead.
Robin Mariat (bass):
"Death Awaits' is a creed. Down the line, we all end up the same, and that we should embrace and not fear. But while death is - at least in our society, often perceived as something sad and solemn, our track is nearly the opposite: upbeat and ferocious with a hopeful chorus. Creating the music video for this song was the most fun we’ve had in ages: we gathered about a hundred fans and friends and celebrated our love for life the only way we know how: beating our skulls to the sound of music together. We especially cannot wait to play this track live on our upcoming tour starting next week!'
‘Death Awaits’ is released ahead
of the band's forthcoming UK/EU co-headline tour with Siamese,
kicking off on March 31st.
Resolve will also be supporting heavyweights While She Sleeps
across Europe in May & will be appearing at this year's Hellfest in June.
Ever since their public reveal in February 2017
with the debut single 'Exposed', the quartet has been eager
to show their peers that they won’t settle for anything but greatness.
Their strong work ethic and attention to details allowed them
to open shows for Architects, Every Time I Die, While She Sleeps
to name a few, all of that within the first few months
of the band’s stammering career.

'Come Back to Me'
Melodic rock/metal band Frail from Finland
will release their new album this spring.
Their previous singles "Kiss Goodbye", "Save a Life Tonight"
and "Children of Depravity" have gathered
loads of positive attention around the world.
The songs have been played
by radio stations and playlisted into various Spotify playlists.
This fourth single "Come back to me"
is the final preview to the upcoming album.
Fragile and melancholic "Come Back to Me" is based
on strong vocal melodies and metallic heavy guitar riffs.
Musically you may hear echoes from early 2000's post grunge sounds
as well as a hint of the melancholic sound
familiar to Finnish love metal giant HIM.
Vocalist Tarmo Kellomäki backgrounds the song:
"Come Back to Me's lyrics can be understood in many different ways. It may be a story of a lost love or some great loss. For me personally, it's an internal voice telling me about a lost direction of life or about a source of life that is about to dry out. When you get older, it's easy to get stuck on regretting the choices you have made in life. Have I achieved thethings that I wanted? Have I permanently lost something that I should have been holding on to?"
The music video has been written and directed by film maker Toni Rutanen.
Many people are playing their roles
even if the reality behind the role is a totally worn out human being.
The video also generated a discussion inside the band
about what are the themes that the band wants to stand for.
The director and the band eventually agreed to lift up the struggle
that is familiar to many ordinary people while living their ordinary life.

Director Toni Rutanen comments on the video:
"I wanted to lift up the hard side of modern human life. When you think that you've achieved the things that you wanted to. But there is a price for that. People get exhausted and relationships break down. And it's not easy to talk about it even with your best friends. People should learn how to talk (and to listen) also about difficult issues. This is something that we all could learn more."
