What’s that old saying again?
“The more things change, the more they stay the same”—right?
When it comes to Michigan based metal outfit For The Fallen Dreams,
perhaps a more fitting—but just as timeless—adage would be
“change is the only constant.”
With a career defined by constant progression
and dedication to refining and rejuvenating their unique brand
of aggressive, passionate metal, For The Fallen Dreams
have consistently demonstrated an incredible ability
to adapt and evolve their sound and dynamic
despite overwhelming adversity
all without sacrificing the core components of their sound.
Built around explosive breakdowns, gut-wrenching grooves,
and lyricism that touches on everything
from an introspective glimpse into the human condition
to brotherhood and camaraderie,
these Midwestern masters of metal have made themselves a staple
within the international heavy music community.
'For The Fallen Dreams' album will be released
in this brand new cycle via Arising Empire.
While For The Fallen Dreams was founded in 2003,
their story starts in earnest with the release of »Changes« in 2008,
a record that would irreversibly and unremarkably
impact the footprint of heavy music.

Following »Changes«, For The Fallen Dreams would go on to release
five more remarkable full-length records,
from the atmospheric and moody »Relentless«
to chart-topping comeback record »Heavy Hearts«,
which landed at #162 on the Billboard Top 200
and #3 on Billboard Heatseekers lists
and »Six«, their debut venture into more metallic territory
with over 20 million views on YouTube
and tens of millions of streams across various streaming platforms.
While For The Fallen Dreams
have certainly been through their fair share of changes,
one thing has remained constant:
their dedication to constant growth
while never failing to deliver primal-yet-emotional music
that had made them a staple in modern metal.

“Come, Sweet Death” alternates between brutality
and winding single string melodies
that brings you back to the golden age of Swedish Death Metal!
IMPERISHABLE:
'If there’s one thing that has remained stable despite living in 2023 is that we love Swedish Death Metal. The style has become a favorite of ours over the past 35 years.'
Something about the guitar tone just makes you want
to devour any release
that can be described as “Inspired by early Entombed and Dismember”.
The good thing is that there’s an incredible wealth of bands
that draw from that well.
The bad thing is that said wealth
leads to a lot of bands becoming indistinguishable due to
how same they are.
Thankfully, Imperishable’s “Come, Sweet Death” manages to stand
out from the pack, in no small part due to breaking away
from the genre’s usual trappings.
And in a way this is no surprise since the band members
were or are involved in Vampire, Portrait, Nominon and Dr. Living Dead!
As you might have already gathered,
the band draws a lot from the Stockholm scene,
more specifically Dismember, that is undeniable.
What’s really interesting though is that they draw from their later,
and more melodic influenced era as much as from the early days.
Imperishable, like their peers effortlessly blends
the aggressive buzzsaw riffing with leads brimming
with melody, which most modern bands in the style avoid
in favor of pure aggression.

Said blend can be seen throughout their debut album,
though it can be felt more on the longer tracks,
like “Teeth of the Hydra” and “Fangs”,
where the band has more room to develop
their ideas and mix grinding Death Metal
with NWOBHM-inspired leads and riffs.
In short:
Imperishable has great songs, great melodies, well-arranged structures
and still is brutal, just like the great old bands were.
And the production is spot on for this release.
It is good to hear a band experiment beyond the confines
of the original old school Swedish Death Metal sound.
“Come, Sweet Death” is an extremely promising release,
and a small breath of fresh air in an otherwise stale scene.
Imperishable’s love for the more melodic aspects of the style
make them worth keeping an eye on now and in future.
The album 'Come, Sweet Death' was mixed and mastered
by Oscar Nilsson at Crehate Studios in Gothenburg and is considered to be the best Swedish Death Metal album for 2023.

The Graveyard Bookies have officially released their debut EP,
featuring four tracks that showcase their unique blend
of old-school metal and blues-based rock with modern influences.
The focus track, "Johnny Two Sheds," is a high-energy,
guitar-driven anthem
that perfectly captures the band's raw and raucous sound.
Formed in February of last year by guitarist and vocalist Geoff Kinch,
The Graveyard Bookies enlisted the help of good friends
Ian Yabsley on drums and Matt Sparks on bass,
both of whom had previously played together in The Thudpuckers.
After completing four original songs, the band
welcomed lead guitarist Brian Lamb to the lineup,
adding the perfect complement to their dynamic sound.
Despite setbacks and delays caused by COVID-19
and other unforeseen circumstances, The Graveyard Bookies
persevered and completed their EP,
featuring the hard-hitting tracks "Over Now," "Last Train,"
and "We've Come For You All" in addition to "Johnny Two Sheds."
The video for "Johnny Two Sheds" was filmed at Geoff Kinch's house
in January 2023, and the band is excited to share their music
with fans across the country.
The Graveyard Bookies have already begun booking shows
and plan to rehearse for their first full-length album,
which is scheduled to start recording in December 2023.
Geoff Kinch:
"We're thrilled to finally release our debut EP and share our music with the world. We've been working hard on this project for over a year, and we're excited to see where it takes us. We hope our fans enjoy the EP and look forward to seeing them at our shows."

Southern California based deathcore due (UN)WORTHY
will release their ep 'Where Light Divides' on april the 4th, 2023.
At a time where so many deathcore bands
are all adding symphonic blackened efforts to their art,
"Where Light Divides" finds (UN)WORTHY happily going back
to the OG deathcore sound,
creating a heavier, more brutal, all out deathcore attack
where the end result will shake the very ground.

"Column Of Fire" is the second single from BLADE's debut album
which is scheduled to come out in summer 2023.
This powerful Hard Rock song
originated from drummer Henrik Hyöppönen's composition and riff,
and the entire band refined it into its final format.
Pepe Tamminen has found an idea for lyrics
about a witch-hunt and forbidden love at the end of the 14th century.
The theme fits perfectly with the mood of the song,
which varies from an atmospheric ballad to a punchy chorus,
and certainly leaves no one cold.
The main element of the song is a catchy guitar riff
that hits your senses at the very beginning.
The song was recorded and mixed
at Magnusborg Studios by Marko Kataja.
Mastering was done by Svante Forsbäck,
who is a well-recognized and trusted professional
by many hard rock and heavy metal bands
like Rammstein, Ville Valo, Sonata Arctica,
Sunrise Avenue, Michael Monroe, etc.

Finnish Miss Vain released a new single 'All the Same'.
The track is taken from yet unnamed debut EP
which is set to be released later in 2023 via Inverse Records.
The band comments:
"All the Same' criticizes the embellished and untruthful reality, where all of us are stars with perfect lives and pretty faces. But if we shut down the filters and turn off the lights, we´re all equal to each other, all as beautiful and all as important as everyone else. Only remains we all leave here in the end, is just a small pile of ashes. The song is catchy and quite easy listening, slightly leaning towards rock rather than pure metal and holds even a hint of pop-music within. It´s the first release of Miss Vains heavier production and an opening for upcoming set of brand new releases. So more is yet to come in near future!'
Miss Vain is a five piece rock - group from Tampere Finland,
drifting in the maelstrom of metal.
It´s music is a horns raising energy and catchy melodies
with a featherlike delicacy.
Miss Vain was formed in 2019 as a two guy studio project.
After two lighter pop - / rock - songs, they lowered their tune
and in summer of 2021 Miss Vain grew into a real band... Finally.
Their mission is to deliver joyful moments
with new awesome songs and live shows to all
who are willing to be entertained by Miss Vains rumbling tunes.

90’s Alternative Rock was never anything else
then great pop-songs filtered through screaming guitars.
The Swedish based power trio Statues can be filed
under your typical SST band.
Simple, impulsive, eccentric, and just wonderful.
They could be that third band that played somewhere in the midwest
together with Hüsker Dü and Sonic Youth during the late ’80s.
Rock has perhaps never been this catchy.
Statues are a tornado on a collision course with your hometown.
”Black Arcs Rising” is the third studio album
by Swedish rock trio Statues.
Recorded at Svenska grammofonstudion in Gothenburg,
this 12 track full-length release brings back
the imperishable soundscapes of 90’s alternative rock
while showcasing Statues’ melodic, direct, and intense
approach to songwriting.
”Black Arcs Rising” is produced and mixed by Christian Ramirez
who also adds additional guitar on the tracks ”Perfect Storm”,
”Sardonic Grin”, and ”Eyes in the Sky”, and mastered by Magnus Lindberg.
The album features guest vocals by Per Stålberg on ”Phantasm”,
”Dead of Summer”, and ”Hiding in a Hole”,
and art direction by Joel Dunkels.
As with Statues 2020 album ”Holocene”, ”Black Arcs Rising” is released
by Swedish independent label Lövely Records.

Statues on the new album “Black Arcs Rising”:
'We recorded the album in the Swedish gramophone studio in Gothenburg. The time before we got some kind of hubris and recorded 20 songs, but ended up with 12. We worked non-stop the entire studio time of 5 days and ate, slept and showered with the instruments. Johan triggered the alarm the first thing he did and a microwave oven and an amplifier caught fire. The Cat People soundtrack and Neu went hot on the stereo.
The title warns of worse times. Black Arcs can be seen in a chart, but it can also mean that there are black arcs rising from the ground that warn of worse times. Our texts are often prophetic by accident. The last record, Holocene, had a song called Lockdown and then came the pandemic. The lyrics are as usual of the darker kind, but there is also a kind of black humor in the absurdity described. If you do it wrong, things will go to hell and therefore it must be warned about the madness that exists. It may already be too late to save the world as the doomsday clock is close to midnight, but by pointing to the absurdities of environmental destruction, consumerism, capitalism, the annexation of other countries and an unwillingness to change behavior, we are doing what we can to encourage change.'

”Black Arcs Rising” is released on May the 5th, 2023.
The album will be available on all streaming platforms
and in two color variants on vinyl;
transparent green vinyl with red splatter, and solid white vinyl.
The indie-rock outfit Statues from Umeå, Sweden
has a dense stubbornness as their musical trademark.
At the same time, there is unobtrusive security and a sense of dynamics
in the group's tasteful association
of tantrum noises and winding melodies.

Much of the establishment is unmistakably bottled in an indie-rock
and post-punk North American-style tradition,
and aesthetic threads of origin are related to a young and hungry
Hüsker Dü as well as legendary alternative labels like SST and Dischord.
The trio has been playing together in different constellations since 1991.
The red thread throughout the years is
that everything has become more and more intense and angry
for each year.
During the years the members have been heard through bands
such as Starmarket, KVLR, and The Vultures.
In 2018 everything culminated at the start of Statues.
The same year debut album "Adult Lobotomy”
was released through German label Crazysane Records.
The furious and straightforward expression
of the high-intense debut album made it sold out in no time.
Walter Schreifels
(Quicksand, Rival Schools, Youth of Today, Gorilla Biscuits):
”In music it’s a rare balance to successfully blend politics and fun, aggression with melody. Drawing on some of my fave post-punk influences and classic rock grooves, Statues debut 'Adult Lobotomy' walks a line like Phillippe Petit across the sky between Twin Towers, gracefully subversive.”
In 2020 Statues released their second album
“Holocene” on Lövely Records.
The band wrote over 40 songs
and all of them were short, fast, and extremely intense.
The band recorded 11 songs in just three hours.
It was the first time in the history for Sandås Silence Studio
to repay a band for pre-booked studio time.
The entire album was mixed and mastered by Christian Ramirez.

The lyrics and artwork were made before the Covid-19 outbreak in 2020.
Although the lyrics give hints of threatful viruses, sinkholes, and total environmental collapse.
Perhaps we should borrow the crystal ball from Statues,
or just accept
that the band already is a part of the future.
As best we can know, Statues might very well be the future.
Statues began writing and recording new material in 2021.
Johan Sellman had written over 20 new songs in just a couple of months
and after a couple of covid quarantines
the band could finally enter "Svenska Grammofonstudion" in Gothenburg
together with producer Christian Ramirez.
The new album was mainly recorded live in a furious tempo during 5 days.
Doing an album in that short amount of time requires no second guessing,
everything that was played ended up on tape,
including the bands’ energy and stubbornness.
